Hi Pure!

Always nice to see you show that handsome face of yours.

The beans have not arrived yet. It took an unusually long time for my seeds to show up from the producer as well and they came from the other side of the pond as well. I'm hoping to see them in the mail box this week. I didn't check yesterday so they might even be there!

Gosh I'm excited! Can't wait to add even more variety to the mix!

We wondered the same thing. How much "extra" are we getting and how much of the greatness is being tainted?
But as you mentioned it smokes like a champ! And I'm always excited to pack it into the bowl.

Here is your dumb question of the day...... When making bubble hash couldn't you just use one size bag instead of all of these different ones? Is the quality really that noticeable?

Disclaimer... I have never made nor consumed hash so I am a true rookie.

Morning Beaver!

Great question! Essentially if you used one bag you would be there forever if it was he small micron bag because the holes are so small that even water passes through slowly. In the big micron bag you would have way to much plant material in the mix and it would become tainted.

So, you use different sizes more or less to sift out the shit from the prize :)

I am thinking about making some butter this morning for the first time. I have over a gallon sized baggy filled with trim and 3 male Afghani plants that I pulled. Even though the trim is from plants still in the veg stage do you think it'll be worth it? Would you put the males in the pot too? I thought about making a tincture but the only solvent I have is Vodka... What would you do with them (not hash :-)

This is a subject I know very little about, Beaver. However, I am aware that Male plants contain CBD which, if this is what you desire, can add benefit to your butter.

Don't think I would use Vodka for the tincture because the alcohol content isn't high enough. You're looking for an alcohol content of about 99%. Everclear or Isopropyl are the only solvents I've used. The Magical Butter Maker only uses Everclear.

If hash isn't what you're after, I would bag it up and put it in your freezer for a time when your budget is a bit more plentiful and you can order the appropriate materials to make some incredible oil or tinctures. I know that's not what you want to hear but let me tell you, when you're eventually ready to go. There's no better feeling then having a lush supply of plant material or bud frozen and stashed away.
