Phyto's Phantastic Phebruary Phun With Photos

I'm off San Phrancisco bay, SF is about 40 miles away as the crow phlies. Without putting too phine a point on it, they grow a lot of grapes in the area The soil in the raised beds is quite damp about 2 inches down. The actual ground soil is a sandy loam with a ton of organic matter in it (it's basically an old marsh that was reclaimed about 150 years ago). The water table is about 3 feet down. The garage, which is the bottom floor, is actually 6 feet below sea level. In the second pic of my last post you can see the 12 foot high levee. Here's a couple looks from the top of the levee. (That ship is 320 feet long)

Well, I'm about 4-5 weeks into phlower and it's been clear sailing (knock on wood). Losing a few leaves deep under the canopy, but they are 3 month old leaves, and for the most part still green. Buds are phorming up nicely, and I get a nice little olphactory blast of terpenes when I check-in every morning. Starting to get a little phrost on the sugar leaves. I am noticing some yellowing on a couple of the plants, but only on the big phan leaves that are directly under the HLG light, it's a little light bleaching. I turned the dimmer down to 60% (it was 70%). Last grow I ran the lights at 100% and had big bleaching problems. Unphortunately I misjudged the stretch by about 3-4 inches, my mainlight is almost topped out (I could get maybe 2 inches and still be safe).

Kinda at the end of my rope as far as raising the light:

Hey Phyto - if needed - you could defs raise it half of the remaining distance by using only 1 of the steel cables on each end of the fixture….

clip the cable onto both ends of light fixture and hang from the middle of the steel cable… once you get it then both cables can be used in same manner as safety net…

Hey Phyto how’s the fishing there? Beautiful area btw, I used to deliver produce to South Frisco Farmers Market when I was still driving a truck. CL🍀

Thanks! Yes, physically I could do it, but per the manufacturer (fire safety) I need 16 inches of space between the unit and the top of the tent, and I'm pretty much there now.

Sturgeon was pretty good, caught several off the my dock, all were either undersize or oversize. but they've kind of spread out now. Stripers are just starting to pick up, water is still quite murky. Down in the main bay they're doing real well on halibut.

That's so cute! Thanks ever so much!!!!

Time phor another update, lepht the girls for 6 days on autopilot, although my daughter did come by and water once while we were gone. Everything looked good when we got back. Noticing some yellowing leaves, but determined it's a little light bleaching from the LED. I misjudged the stretch by about 6-8 inches and my light is as high in the tent as it can saphely go, so I'm gonna turn it down to about 50-60% from 80%. Those plants that are under the old semi-purple lights on the edges do not have any signiphicant yellowing, other than the very old phan leaves. The terpenes are really kicking in, the entire house was smelling for a while, but when I returned I harvested 250 garlic plants that are now in garage drying/curing, that pretty much masks the smell, and should for the next 3-4 weeks until I process them, by cutting the stems and roots off and putting them in racks. Some of the plants look like they've got a couple weeks to go, others a month. It will be a problem as I'm leaving again for 8 daze in about two weeks. My phirst thought is just let them go a little longer and deal with harvest drying/curing when I get back. Thanks phor watching!

Here are the two Northern lights volunteers, one has decent bud structure, the other is a mutant. Both oph them had incredible stretches, like 12 inches in less than a week, I had to do some hard HST otherwise they would of been 6 phoot tall auto's!!!

And Lastly, here's is the Chemdawg that was giving me phits, it's now outside and starting the process of re-vegging.

Here's the weekly update, things are still looking good, pistils are starting to turn red and the buds are bulking up. Should have a couple done in 2 weeks or so. Others probably still have a month. Still have a little light bleaching, but at this point, I'm dont really think any action is necessary, I turned the light down to 60%, and the issue has slowed. Going out of town again for 8-9 days, so the babies will be on autopilot, with just someone checking/watering on them 2-3 times while I'm gone. I'd like to chop a couple before I leave, but I really don't have a good pheeling about leaving them to dry for over a week in my garage (35% RH) without me being there, I think they'll overdry before I get back.

So, some bud pics:

Good morning P!

You got some nice filler there :)
Thanks, the buds are tightening up nicely and the swell is underway, still a mix of clear/cloudy trichs, with occassional amber, but they are about an 8 on the "Stank-O-Meter! Glad I replaced my garage door last year with one that seals tightly, or the neighborhood would know (not that I care because im in a legal recreational state). As long as the dreaded bud rot stays away I think I'll be "In Like Phlint". Right now my RH is rarely over 45% except on watering days, and mostly sits in the 35-45% range. My garage is pretty dry. The other thing that's saving me is it's been an extremely cool spring, I don't think we've had more than a couple days in the 80's all spring. When the weather gets hot, I have cooling issues.
