Phenominawesome Family First Grow Tries Aurora Indica, AK48's - 1KW MH/HPS - 5x5 Tent

Re: Phenominawesome Family First Grow Tries Aurora Indica, AK48's - 1KW MH/HPS - 5x5

Quick official week 5 kickoff update! I already fed them week 5 nutes 2 days ago to make sure to get in a couple of feedings but now im sure that wasn't needed.

I've been underwatering in site of it. Bummer too cause my environment has been on point the last few days.

It never goes more that 10 degrees night to day but humidity is high at night sometimes. Lately around 60 instead of 70.

Just got my saucer, a wet vacuum for flushing and florakleen.

In case they have any salt buildup, a lockout occurs and I need to flush or... In 2 weeks need to start flushing anyway.

/btw Pennywise Im going Coco drain to waste next.
Time coming too quick and I'm running those Autos next so we'll do the Dark Plasma mom hunt along side the autos in coco with the rest of my FF nutes or even GH to finish with the main money put into benificials like mammoth P and cannabis specific bloom boosters. (recommendations are welcome!)
I have heard though that The Connoisseur line of Advanced has basic all of their other stuff in it already. You can add all those other additives, but I hear it's not necessary not sure how true that is. Check out Grateful Grower on YouTube he mentioned this.

Ok the pics are as follows : Iced Grapefruit after falling straight down. Now its more secure with a saucer.

The second is AK48 #4 drank roughly a half gallon yesterday, gave it almost a full gallon, finally to runnoff.

Third is AK48 #5 my favorite AK pheno growth wise. Soooo frosty and I think its the added LED.

The rest are examples of what im talking about below.

Note to self: If you can, use the sprayer and take the time. The plants love it compared to flooding the top or pouring.

I suspect a soggy bottom boys smart pot can be a breeding ground for root rot.

What I did today to avoid a nasty puddle of anaerobic bacteria, lifted the smart pots with stones. Now I can use the wet vac to get my runnoff. This will be especially useful for coco next run.

Last photo is an odd leaf cupping. I Have these here and there. At first I thought wind?
Many that are under the canopy or moist from touching other leaves.

I don't have a scope above 60x so there are bugs I cannot see.... Anyone know what causes that?

Re: Phenominawesome Family First Grow Tries Aurora Indica, AK48's - 1KW MH/HPS - 5x5

I soaked the pots starting with the biggun and the... Let's call bit ICE, bagseed and the frostiest plant. It's way more ICE than Grapefruit phenotype wise.
Today soaked the others really good and they are loving it.

Im watering heavy each time now once mature. I think I was starving them a little watwr wise.

Today they are blowing up. Crazy what a single day/change can do

Re: Phenominawesome Family First Grow Tries Aurora Indica, AK48's - 1KW MH/HPS - 5x5

Here are a couple of photos. I raised the Aurora Indica a few inches when adding the saucer.

Add to that good watering and a couple of cooler days and they are just happy as clams.

I've concluded that it's got to be either the LED or genetics but there is so much more frost on the AK on that side of the tent.

The Aurora has always been very frosty like the ICE

Re: Phenominawesome Family First Grow Tries Aurora Indica, AK48's - 1KW MH/HPS - 5x5

Wow, crazy thing happened after days of pulling my hair out.

I'm thrilled to death after a bean order from Seedsman. Not sure who ordered from there recently but THANK YOU!! I wouldn't have come across such an awesome deal.

I mentioned that I already got my coveted FIRE flower Dark Plasma on the way from Ocean Grown, but while I mom hunt this fall, we are running autos in the tent.

I ordered from Nirvana already with no problem but they didn't have what I wanted really I I didn't want to settle.

I could go Gorrilla but payments failed. Try from Seedsman and I've had a hell of a time, my card won't go through etc.

So Ellie from Seedsman emails me and tells me they have a promo for Bitcoin.

(I have been leary about Bitcoin in the early stages, wish I wasn't I would be rich lol, but the fact of the matter is it's not if but when the world will run on crypto-currency and I would put my bets on Bitcoin. I won't lie it is a pain in the ass verifying when putting money in your wallet but it's easy, they even have a video. I used all Bitcoin official stuff. app on my phone etc.) It is still technically illegal I think the larger neck of my world but locally it is legal. Go figure.

I went through the hoops and installed a bitcoin wallet on my phone, put the money there and ordered with Bitcoin.

They give you 10% off and 8 free seeds on top of the other free seeds. They gave me a total of 17 free seeds after I paid for 9. Total of 26 seeds!!

I see this free seeds all the time, usually it's weird crosses etc. these are some top notch genetics though right (below)?

Here is what it boiled down to:

I paid $102.00

for
3 - Girl Scout Cookies Autos (fastbuds)
3 - LSD-25 Auto
3 - Northern Lights Auto

They Gave me as normal free:
2 - Regular Jack Herrer from Seedsman
2 - Regular Amnesia Haze Royal Queen

Part of the Bitcoin Bundle:
2 Free Diesel Auto Royal - Queen Seeds
2 Free The White Train Auto - Mephisto Genetics
2 Free Critical Ogre Auto - Joint Doctor
2 Free Blue Dream Auto or Bubba Kush Auto - Humboldt

And to top it off some more extras:
5: Auto Kush

I would just say if you haven't yet, get the damn Bitcoin wallet from the android play store or Apple store and use it for shopping for seeds. Seedsman wants 6 verifications which can take about 30-60 minutes but this way you know that you and your money is not able to be traced or stollen easily. Not easily enough that someone who makes 100k a year is going to waste months tracking down a few seed buyer ;) Cheers! hope this helps some folks

Good Morning,

First and foremost; your grow looks great! Balancing the different strains and issues you've had can be difficult and it looks like you're kicking 'a' and taking names. Great catch on the hermie too!...most would have missed that all together before it was too late. Good stuff.

I'm going to follow along for the sake of your AI's...I think you're going to be pleasantly surprised with the end product. Don't ask me how I know :)

Anywho, I'm going to tag along and vicariously grow through you for this journey; thanks for taking the time to post and share.

Re: Phenominawesome Family First Grow Tries Aurora Indica, AK48's - 1KW MH/HPS - 5x5

Weekend update: Day 33 of 12/12 and things have certainly taken a turn for the better.

This I would like to ask the community their opinion. I can act on logic not experience so would love to hear some thoughts. Runnoff for plants veried from 700PPM to 1050PPM, not too sure how much I care about this number? unless it's astronomical in either direction? 200 or 2000 ex.

Were I in coco or a medium other than soil, this would mean much more, granted if it came out 1500PPM I would be a little concerned.

The ph however was between 6.3 and 6.8. I worry about this having to add so much PH up all of the time but so far the ocean forest is holding fine.

Added the saucers and gave all of the girls a good heavy water over about 2 days each and did that to each plant twice this week.

I decided with the amount of tip burn and under watering as adults called for a couple of good full waters and other than one issue it was the best move.

The buds are all putting on weight and im learning more about how they grow. Its like the calyx swelled right up after full waterings and I imagine much to be water but if you look close the mature organs are very large when the hair naturally turns red. This is the buds material or some of, that I wasn't seeing before.

Also, this makes me wonder, if you bruise your fruit and turn those hairs brown do those particular organs not continue to enlarge?
I will keep an eye on that.

Also notices some brown spots on Aurora1, not enough that I am really too concerned. I figure with a couple of tiny spots on 3 or 4 leaves isn't cause for alarm yet. I'm trying to find a good description or photo of the strain since its also looking to be either a light lime green,

My first thought is calcium or magnesium even though I add sensi cal to ro water at about 85PPM it is about a quarter recommended strength.
Note to self, keep an eye on it.

Also when they dry this time, they will get week 5 second feed. It's a long week for them lol.

Here are some buds shots:

First two are AK #4, Second set of 2 are ICE grapefruit, next 2 Aurora Indica mainly with AK#5 peeking in a little making it look like triplets.

The last is the leaf discoloration.

Welcome! Thanks for the kind words:) I know I have a lot to learn by experience so even though we've had problems im glad that we have dealt with them and learned from everyone here along the way.

Man those Auroras have a bit of a niche following it seems. The name is very special to my wife and Indica are her favorite so it was really awesome to find out that it is so good.

We still have 2 fem seeds of those and if we like it enough, will add those to the fall mom hunt.

Not many people have heard of it here but those that have rave about it.
She looks so good and now smells really good too.

Re: Phenominawesome Family First Grow Tries Aurora Indica, AK48's - 1KW MH/HPS - 5x5

Looks like phosphorus deficiency from here.
It does kind of look like pics of a P deficiency.

Ok, thanks PW I will look into this.

Ok so I'm going to sort of step through this, out loud...I don't think it would be deficient due to actually lacking phosphorus in the soil, only because of the 3 PK heavy Fox Farms nutes, but I won't rule that out.

I think if that is the problem, it would be because of PH or another element build up:(

What types of scenerios in soil would cause a phosphorus lockout?

Then again they may use a lot of phosphorus in flower in which case I can increase that plant's cha ching to 3/4 strength... Bit tired need a coffee and another toke!

Love this site, thanks Pennywise.

Re: Phenominawesome Family First Grow Tries Aurora Indica, AK48's - 1KW MH/HPS - 5x5

Morning Phenoman...thank you for the welcome.

Your girls are looking good!

At least in terms of the phenotype I've worked with; the affects of the AI on the mind and most notably, the body, is something I haven't found elsewhere. And this my friend is why she sticks around...and frankly, your pheno looks even better than what I've seen, so take that for what it's worth...you're going to be happy with her.

I'd like to be able to comment on the deficiency although just one pic of a leaf makes it difficult to do. I will say this, again, at least in terms of the Phenotype I'm accustomed to, the AI will tend to show accessory pigments as it matures and some of these pigment changes can and will look similar to your pic. I would simply keep an eye on her in general and see if the problem persists in a negative way. I can't comment on your nutrition schedule, largely because I stick with old school tactics which involve mixing up good soil at the start and adding nothing more than plain water from the faucet / garden hose...but that's a story for another day.

You're doing great...have a great balance to your weekend.

Thank you so much! You just brightened my morning.

I'm glad to hear the effects of the AI. Someone else will be thrilled as well.

Balence reminded me to take advantage of the wife and I being off together. I'll go roll up a top shelf for when she wakes :)

I hope that you also have a great remainder to your weekend.

Cheers!

They will go through a lot of phosphorus in bloom, PH is a major culprit. Also if your temps are try to get lower.

Thanks ShMaNgLeD!
I'll have to pop over if you have something going on currently.
(Im on the phone app so can't see signatures).

Glad you stopped in, feel free to hang out!

Well I've mixed up their nutes. The lights come on soon so ill see how they are.

Hopefully just hungry..

I can try to vent the air out of the room and open up the air intake all the way because right now it's just trickling fresh air in. I thought it best to be a mostly sealed room. Air only goes out the door and window cracks and comes in a steady trickle through the closed vent.

My idea was run ducting to the top of the attic and exhaust hot air but then its pulling in 77-80 degree fresh air much quicker than I think the AC unit in the room can cool.

The ac runs full blast lights on and right now its 79-81 day 75 night.

I'll keep that an option if things don't improve.

Runnoff PH is OK but not sure how accurate it is.
Do the soil tester stakes work?

Re: Phenominawesome Family First Grow Tries Aurora Indica, AK48's - 1KW MH/HPS - 5x5

You really need a pen, not sure how accurate the other testing methods are, 79-81 is good i wouldnt change things other than bring in a little fesh air.

Hi Phenoman, nice grow you got there! :thumb:
I got one Aurora Indica fem seed as a freebie with my last seeds order. I can't grow it yet since my tents are full at the moment but I'm looking forward to it because it seems like a nice indica strain. In the meantime, I'll watch your grow and learn as much as I can!

Nice, thanks PW"!

Im not sure either how accurate the soil probe testers are but they supposedly measure moisture content and soil PH.

I do have a PH pen, it's just a cheap one but I calibrate it. I was more wondering how to know the soil PH (if runnoff is not an accurate test, if my runnof PH in soil is accurate I should be ok).

I do want a better PH pen, any recommendations?

This is one of those times that I wish I kept a better record every single time I do something...

When I checked all runnoff PH I didn't record them just noted if it was between 6 and 7. Some were lower 6.3 some 6.8.

I try to double check my ph with the manual color drops just to make sure it's in the right color and therefore in the ballpark. I'm not comfortable with my current PH tools..

A bit off topic but I am ordering some things for this run coming up with the autos.

When running autos drain to waste in coco, would you add perlite and how much?

Thanks again Pennywise!

Nice! Wecome, and I hope you enjoy!

So far so good. We germinated 3, all popped and we lost one in the sink. One I dropped broke the taproot but it lives on.

The last one is ooh so pretty and frosty and getting some good weight now.
