Ph meter vs drops

I don't know.......the only time that degree of accuracy is required would be if you're doing dwc.
Even pH meters can be off +/- 0.3.

What brand? Is it better that. Testing papers? Because in my experience they are dog shit

How so. Are they bad because they are hard to read?

Or, are they bad because the reading is off? Though, in order to know if the reading is off then the user would also need something else that can be used to check the pH of the same water or solution at the same time.

If you don't want to worry about pH use a well buffered medium and you don't have to adjust the pH. I have used drops litmus paper cheap meters none are reliable. I have a blue lab and a apera pen both are excellent quality calibrate once a month the most they will be out is .1 you get what you pay for no such thing as a good cheapy. IMHO
