To check the accuracy of a pH meter just buy a bottle of water. The pH is on the label

after both being calibrated, my new blue lab guardian monitor gives my tap water a 7.1 against the yellow ''you know the one" at 7.9. the amazon yellow one is less than a year old and was well kept. can't wait to see what kind of difference using the blue lab will make to my current new grow. kind of need a third meter just to see which two correspond.

Get a chemical kit with a narrow ph range as a reference. Vitalink do a narrow ph test kit. A narrow test kit will give you a more accurate result. Most kits are 0.5pH steps.
