PerkPot First Grow, GSC & THC Bomb, Live Soil, No Chemicals

All four plants doing well. The second gsc is a little behind the first. I think it was more shocked by the topping and pruning but is showing new growth. I think I got a couple of the clones I took from the clippings of the healthiest plant to start rooting. The thc bomb is coming along nice. Growing slower than the gsc.

A couple lessons learned.

Keep Neem oil handy and when you see that first gnat start spraying lol. I let it go a day or two and it gets bad. Got it back under control with the Neem.

Be very careful with the lst. I heard the dreaded snap yesterday when trying to move one of my branches. I think I can get it to heal. Ugh
Time heals wounds bro she'll be fine I'm sure 😎✌🏽

Didn't you say you have dunks in your mix? Do they not nuke the gnats? I use a powdered version of the BT that goes into solution which I pour into my soil when nec. I also put a layer or DE on the surface of the soil, and of course, the trusty yellow cards. I had a bad experience with neem so I avoid it if where possible. I overdid the spraying and the leaves started growing out malformed. Good luck are they dead yet? Sorry about the snap... yeah it happens to us all I think ugh!

Hi Carmen. I have not used any dunks yet. I just have living soil. The Neem and a fly strip have them pretty much gone. I don’t see any when I open the tent. I will stay on top of them from now on. I have the sticky yellow cards coming today.

The snapped branch is healing nicely. I tied it up to the main trunk to help it heal.

They are all coming along nice. Lots of new growth all the way around.

Temp 70-75. Humidity 65-75. Lights 18/6 on setting 8.

Get some mites for the gnats. You're gonna reuse the soil anyhow. Living soil WILL have bugs. A few gnats here and there is fairly normal, even in older soils. Other insects like spiders, rolly pollies, centepedes.....will eventually make their way in. At least in my experience. Soil is about 6 years old or so. Any way, the mites will control the gnats. Neem should only be used about once a week for an IPM. You can burn your plants with it. I think it actually clogs the stomata, or has a reaction from the lights. Any way, make sure you shake it very well, and run it under some warm water to mix it. Otherwise it gets concentrated at the bottom. Plants look good. Id also recomemd some worms, red wigglers, and something to use as mulch, or some cover crop. I defoliate alot, so my leaves just get dropped in the soil. Ive used timothy hay, alfalfa hay is a good one.....you can even use some brown cardboard. Anything to keep the top of the soil moist. Not crucial, but will really get the soil biology going.

Awesome. Thanks for the help. Where do I get mites and worms?

Is there a bait store near by? Or just go outside and find a few. Usually under a brick, or some leaves. They will multiply, but self sustain. Build a soil i think sells them....hyposometgung....miles. Look up predatory mites, they have different ones for different things. Hypoapsus-miles, i think is what I got. They wont comoletely eradicate the gnats, but after a couole weeks, you'll barely notice one here and there. They eat the larvae.

Ok so just any old earth worms. There are some bait stores near me. I will put a couple in with each plant. I will look for mites too. Thanks
Red wigglers are best. Nightcrawlers don't compost as well, and don't aerate the soil as well either.

Honestly Bascillus Thuringiensis is going to be your best bet to kill the gnats. It is very easy to mix up into a solution and add to your soil with watering. It's standard operating procedure. You get it in mosquito dunks. That will kill the larvae that live in the roots and eat them. The Diatomaceous Earth sprinkled on the soil will lacerate and kill all emerging young adults and the yellow stickies will attract the flies.

All plants looking good. Lots of new growth on the gsc. They are past the shock of topping and trimming I think. The thc bomb took off over the weekend so this will b the last pics before they are topped and trimmed. Going to try the quadlining with the thc bomb. I left three nodes on the gsc but will leave just two on the thc bomb.

Gnats traps catching the gnats. Got the dunks and gave them one dose. Will dose again tomorrow

6/22. 30 days since sprout. GSC looking really good. Branches starting to get more rigid and wood like. I took some pics below the leaves to show what’s going on. LST is going well. Thinking of going with some fishing weights

I topped and trimmed the thc bomb. Going with quadlining for these two. I’m figuring they will be in shock for a week or so after I butchered them. I talked nicely to them as I did it tho. I think I heard one scream…

All plants looking good. The gsc has really done well with the lst. I have six branches on each plant.

The thc bomb is recovering from the stress of topping and trimming. I went with the quad line method for the thc bomb.

Gnats under control with some dunks and sticky yellow traps.

Pics uploaded out of order. The last pic is the gsc top after lst

Nooooooo. I was messing with my plants and I snapped a main branch. I am sick. Lesson learned be careful when messing with the limbs in the back. Grrrrr
Was it not repairable? A little bit of tape or I've used cling film to hold it together and it grows back solid!

The plants are looking good. I have been controlling the swick by using smaller ropes and I only have one rope for each pot right now. The gsc seem to b sucking up the water so I will go to two small strings soon.

The gsc is looking good. Lots of growth. Thinking of flipping to flower in a week or so. Any thoughts? It will b about 4+ weeks in veg by then. It’s getting big and the two plants look like they will easily fill my tent once in flower mode

The thc bomb seems to have recovered from the topping and is showing lots of new growth.

Pics got mixed again during upload. The gsc top is mixed in with the thc bomb. The pic from underneath is one of the quad lined thc bombs
