Well if nothing else, he can go fishing.
I tell you what, this recirc dutch/bato/hempy/whatever bucket I've got my (not so) "runt" (anymore) GDP in now is kinda slick. So far the biggest PITA was rinsing the perlite for the bucket.
Other than that, it's been pretty dang easy. Have it plumbed for draining, so that's easy. Then it's just mixing up nutes once a week, plus the standard plant attention that happens no matter how you grow.
Don't have to water as it's automated (3x daily during daytime cycle), just change it out once a week. Takes me about 5 minutes to work it up. Grab a 5gal mixing bucket of RO, set the res to drain, mix in while it drains, and then put it in the res. Once she starts drinking a lot, it's probably going to be more adding than draining.
Water temp? Not crucial. I do have Z7 and hydroguard in the res, but that's precautionary.
Now that's not quite as simple as just water, but the time stuff works out in the end I think.
