Yes there are lots of positives. That’s a good point. We are lucky to live in North America. USA and Canada are a couple of the best places. Guess I’m a bit bias but whatever.

When is last frost. Ours is after May long weekend which I think is just a Canadian holiday (Victoria day). Where I live we call it may long. I had to check the calendar to see it’s actual name. May 20th. Up here it’s a very popular weekend for camping. When I was young we would go get smashed in the bush all weekend long. Made for some interesting stories.

Normally Memorial Day is the time to plant here, the end of May is usually safe and with autos I should still get an early harvest.

if you start them in june they should be done by end of sept. at the latest here we usually plant after mothers day I do have 3 outside rite now but so far it hasn't got below 42 they don't like that but it doesn't hurt them I pull them up against the house and turn the porch light on for an extra hour don't want them flowering until October!

That's why I'll roll with autos this year, a little less maintenance
I thought about growing a handful of autos outside this spring/summer. I just don't get all that much direct sunlight in my backyard as Miss @SweetSue can attest. I get about 4 hours of late afternoon sunlight where I have to locate the plants. I would love to have a spot in a wide open field, right along a stream where I could plant two or three right in the ground and let them go wild.
