Pennywise Does SOG Pheno Hunts Fall 2018

I thought this would be a good place to look for advice/answers. I'm currently growing out a Chemdawg plant. It was flipped to flowering on 2/22/19 so about 5 weeks ago. Three weeks into flowering she started to show signs of Cal/Mag deficiency which I addressed at that time. I'm not seeing fan leaves with rust spots anymore so I feel the Cal/Mag deficiency is good now.

However, over the last 10 days to 2 weeks I've been watching the sugar leaves on the buds on the very very top of the canopy start to take on some color. If I pick one branch the very top bud on that branch has sugar leaves that look like this.

But if I go just under or below the canopy the top bud on a branch a couple inches below the canopy looks like this.

The plant is a good, safe distance from the QB light (same lights Penny uses) and the temperature in the tent may get up to 80 degrees during the day and down to 67 at night.

What do you guys think? Having never seen this before and having never grown a Chemdawg before I thought it best to ask for advice.

Penny and family I was hoping to get everyone’s input on my journal see sig for current quick click to get to it .

Chemdog needs high levels of calcium for some reason, one sign of calcium deficiency is leaves exposed to intense lighting is affected first. Lower leaves or leaves that are shaded tend to stay green.

So increase the increased CalMag even more?

Still looks like a calcium deficiency, @beez0404 but maybe it’s just leftovers from the deficiency before you started upping the calcium. 10 ml/gal seems way high. Weird juju... :cheesygrinsmiley:

Like Penny mentioned, what’s ph doing?

I adjust the PH to between 6.3 and 6.7 looking for 6.5 as my ideal. Growing in ProMix BX.

Probably closer to 9ml of cal mag then 10ml

Maybe up the calcium a tad but GT is probably right, what we're seeing is possibly older damage before you upped the calcium. I was surprised by how much calcium the Chem 91 gobbled up.

There are two other plants in the tent with the Chemdawg....One is a Sour Angel, the other a Gelat.OG They all get the same level of nutrients to include the extra CalMag. Not a spot (that I see) on any of the leaves on the Sour Angel or Gelat.OG

I want to give a shout out to @SeedsMan for their Girl Scout Crack strain. I have one growing right now and am amazed by the amount of side branching this plant is putting out. If the number of branches translates into a bigger yield she might be a good one. Now that of course depends upon the quality of the final product.

Okay I honestly don't know what that means. And I'm old enough to not be embarrassed to admit it.

They love chemical nutrients.
This hasn’t been my struggle with the Chem as well. I use Doc’s kit and wasn’t aware of the extra needs of this strain before I started. She was absolutely beautiful up until a little bit into flower. Then she turned on me. Lol. I thought about just putting some epsom salt on the top of the soil but I wasn’t sure if it would help or hurt so I refrained. Lol. She’s still gonna give me some amazing fruit though!
