PCaddict's 1st Grow Journal

Thanks Sticky. I was just over at Dankmans journal and I ask him if he thinks Recharge and Vulx will be enough to get me through this grow. Sounds like that will be fine. I am ready, Got my 1gal pots presoaking. We are supposed to get a little rain in the early morning for a couple hours, I figure between the distilled water and a little rain they should have enough moister. I have them sitting on a table in the back yard.

sounds good just moistened not water logged your going to have fun and its going to be easy and yes the recharge will work well im just a stubborn old fugga you got enough growers hanging around here your covered if you screw up well all be on you like a fly on shit

Morning PC.....commented on my journal but I will throw it out over here as well......good choice on your current plans. Use up that soil and keep things moving. Not compromising Doc's soil over time constraints. Whoever brought that idea up is a genius.:headbanger:

I can't wait to see how those mixes do for you. They should produce some nice plants and give you a good bit of experience. I really have been following DBHBB so long it will be great to see some other stuff.

:high-five:

This is when it gets interesting. Learning much.
Thanks guys I appreciate all the positive words. I am a little nervous switching the soil but like Sticky says it will be a new learning experience and I have plenty of people watching my back if I do encounter problems.

I just tapped the seeds amd they went right to the bottom of the shot glass how long after they sink should I put them in paper towels ?

I would like to know what others think, Should I create another journal for this coming grow or should I just keep this one open and continue with this journal ? ?
:nervous-guy:

Mine I transfer to towels once I’ve seen they have cracked.

Might as well fire up a new journal.

My preference with seeds is to soak around 24 hours. If the seeds have cracked, they go straight into soil. If they haven't cracked, they go into a moist piece of pt and into a sandwich bag and wait until it just cracks.

The last few times I went straight under soil with no soak and got a really high percentage rate.

I soak mine too. First I put a seed in a milk jug cap, cover it with sand paper, and give it a little shake (scarification.) Then into water (that I keep 78F with a heat mat and controller) for up to 48hrs. Once they crack and tails come out, straight into rapid rooters. The biggest thing is that once they crack and that tap root starts, you gotta get it out or they can drown.

If it's taking too long, then I'll transfer to a paper towel.

I've also cracked them directly in a rapid rooter, but it goes a tick quicker with a soak and crack.

Not really just one right way to do it. Just gotta find something that works for you and that you can successfully repeat at will.

I put my 4 seeds in paper towels. They were in a shot glass with distilled water for about 18 hours before I put them in the paper towels so I hope in the morning they are either cracked or have tails then I will put them in their 1 gallon pots that I presoaked yesterday and today and I will top off the pots before putting the seeds in the pots.

I am getting excited about this coming grow and trying something different

very good I like to lay a piece of plastic wrap or something over the paper towel to help keep it moist don't no if your already ding something like that just making sure :)

I’ve finally finished with the soaking and the towels. I’ve started germinating in a hempy solo cup full of perlite. First I make up a nutrient solution, about a quart of 1g/gal of MC. I tape the hole at the bottom of the cup and add the nutrient solution until the perlite is floating. I leave it that way over night. The next day I empty the excess water and scarify the seed with 800 grit sandpaper. Then I put it into the solo cup about 1/2” into the perlite. 3 days later I’ve got a seedling I can transplant into a solo cup of promix. Here’s my it’s it Punch almost ready for a solo cup

Hay Sticky, I put the paper towels in a baggie and today we have amnesia fast seeds have tails but the Sweet Tooth doesn't so I will plant the AF seeds and let the others soak a little more

I 2nd this. Recharge saved my grow. It takes a little practice and a really good air pump to create the microbes you want. It’s all in the Recharge and makes it easy. I still brew tea with a weak air stone but Not sure it’s really helping. Recharge gave me instant results.

And they’re off! :blunt:

Ya know now that I think of it the teas might be helping if I didn’t amend it enough. I didn’t use anything but cal mag for quite awhile so I either didn’t cook it or amend it enough, or both. Definitely needs potash next time for sure. This is where experience would be helpful.

I thought you just add Recharge to the water without having to bubble it. I will have to look for the directions and see how to use it. I am hoping all I will need is recharge and Vulx. What soil recipe did you use ? Super cool Super soil or something else Fudo ?
