PakaCordova's First Journal For My First Grow - Dinafem Blue Kush - Soil - Nov 2014

Re: PakaCordova's First Journal For My First Grow - Dinafem Blue Kush - Soil - Nov 2

Good evening PapaCordova :circle-of-love: Everything looks just fine. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Thanks Sara. She is even bigger since this picture. There is no room on the top and bottom of the scrog. I have to put her into flower tonight.

that is a heck of a plant,, so dense. and of course the groovy l.e.d.purple, and i love the screen, adjustable looks like,, do you plan on raising it or is it set for the duration now. I am making that decision myself right now. do I leave my screen where it is for the duration. think I do, cheers

Thanks nivek! She is SUPER dense. Every time I move a fan leaf, I expose another top trying to get light, it's never ending! I am going to leave my screen at that height because I only have a 5ft tent to play in, and yep, it is adjustable. I just loosen the worm clamps and slide them down.

Sending her into flower.....tomorrow. My timer is bad so I am picking up a new one tomorrow.

But, the clones are doing fine so that means tomorrow will be day 1 of flower. I cant WAIT to see her start to flower. Its been a looooong time coming. 9 weeks of veg and shes almost 3ft wide. Snapped some pics and took a quick video of her last day in veg.

yay for flowering, gonna be so sweeet,, a note on when to start the flowering count. probably no consensus on this, but quite a few on here had a discussion about this,, it's important as a timing issue, the consensus was that the flowering count does not start till the first flower is seen. pistols sticking up atcha. not a law, by any means, but, hey, maybe it should be?? cheers paka

Oooh, trunk porn. Looks nice. The handful of times I defoliated under the SCRoG I cut away most of the growth that would get little or no light. You want it "lollipopped." It looks like you could take a bit more off and be fine. You would be amazed at the beatings these things will just laugh off and start growing like crazy.

Good job.

Re: PakaCordova's First Journal For My First Grow - Dinafem Blue Kush - Soil - Nov 2

I actually started my 12/12 last night. My digital timer wasnt turning on even though the "ON" was within the time. Turns out the "ON" has to be triggered first and then it will stay on. It was confusing so I set the 2nd of the 7 programmings to kick on, and then I just removed that program and let my first program run and all is good.

Hell yeah, YAY!! For flowering, I thought it was when you flip your light schedule to 12/12. I have been seeing pistils all over her for a long time now, pre-flowers. I did some googling and saw a lot of people who start counting their flowering the day they flip their lights usually have to go another week or 2 to harvest. It makes sense to wait till you actually see the first flower. Learn something new every day :)

Thanks dude! Her trunk is nice and thick and I noticed a weird split at the very top of the main line. Stretch marks? Hulk mode? How far into flowering can I defoliate?

This girl was ready. She got her first night of 12/12 after being on 24/0 her whole life and little white hairs everywhere the next day.

When do I officially begin counting flower days?

Very cool, I am also on a 24/0 veg cycle with CFL's. Doesn't look like it hurt growth lol.

Girls look very fit, walk them into the harvest land!

Thanks man, thats the plan :)

I am a sucker for CFL grows. I will check yours out and sub! My next batch of 4 clones are going to be vegged completely under CFL. The first month or so of this journal was CFL too.

Re: PakaCordova's First Journal For My First Grow - Dinafem Blue Kush - Soil - Nov 2

I have an extremely noob question. When my plant reaches the time to flush, when and what do I do?

Is this just feeding it plain water for the last 3 weeks before harvest? Am I actually flushing the spoil, like do I continuously pour water through the soil so I get gallons of run off? I am not sure about flushing completely. If any of you have some good articles, please let me know. I don't wanna go through all this and have my buds taste dirty.

Small update. 2 days of 12/12 and shes happier than I have ever seen her. It's probably the dark that she gets now. I have never given her a night off. She is so fluffy and perky and just straight up happy. I feel kind of bad for making her work non stop for so long.

Flowers Already?
There are some shots below of buds? I was pruning some foliage from her underside and saw some bulbs with the hairs popping out. I knocked one off by accident and was like, fuck it, and popped it in my mouth. Was not expecting it to taste like a damn blueberry at all. I was shocked...for real. My lady got home from work and I popped one off for her to try and she said the same thing.

It looks like some have red hairs. I thought this only happens when the plant has matured in it's flowering stage. I am assuming this is normal and I'm just new.

What....
The last few pics are of 2 leaves that are spotting. I am not entirely sure what this is, what is causing it and what to do about it. Maybe one of you out there knows what this is and how I can fix it. It's only happening on a few leaves. I havent changed anything recently. It just appeared.

wow that looks fantastic. so different than my flowering plants, just a couple weeks apart. you have brought this one up well, i can see the respect written all over it, it will do you proud indeed, well done. not sure about the spots but those are definitely flowers. i have chowed down on a couple of tiny buds before just to see and wow do they have some flavour alright,, it will be neat to watch our kids grow up together,, cheers paka, great job

Re: PakaCordova's First Journal For My First Grow - Dinafem Blue Kush - Soil - Nov 2

Look really nice!

Were there other leaves on top of this one that you removed, and this leaf was all wet from the perspiration above, and now under direct light? I've toasted a few this way and they look like yours.

Possibly? There are so many fan leaves all over this thing its impossible to see em all. But only a few have these spots so I guess I shouldnt be too alarmed. I have dolomite lime mixed in with the soil to help with calcium and mag but I will probably pick up a quart of cal-mag to have on hand anyway, just in case.

Thanks nivek! I have been following your journal every step of the way (first time i saw pee on a plant) and I agree its awesome to see the plants so close in age but their structure and characteristics are so different. It amazes me what you can do and how you can manipulate these plants. Its definitely a fun, hands on hobby. I never would have guessed it would be like this.

Re: PakaCordova's First Journal For My First Grow - Dinafem Blue Kush - Soil - Nov 2

Shiiieeeet, looking amazing man, can't wait to get to flower. Also not sure bout the spots but I think there's a review of this strain out there that says leaves went purple in flowering with spots on the buds, maybe this is the start of that on the leaves?

Thanks man, me too!

I am picking up some epsom salt today and that should help with the spotting. I don't think its genetics. All of my leaves have a purple tint to the backsides and also the stems have a nice purple color to them. My night temps drop pretty low now so I think I will be seeing a lot more of the blueberry colors popping up soon. But for the spots, I have a feeling its a mag deficiency even thought I have dolomite lime mixed into the soil. I will do a few waterings with it and see how it goes as I have noticed a few more leaves showing the same symptoms.

Got a new video camera so I am testing it out. Hopefully it works good. Let me know what you guys think of the quality and if you think this cam is better than the old one.

Also did a lot more defoliation under the canopy. I will do some minor clean up but I think that's all I am going to prune from the underside.
