Oz's First Grow - Pyramid Tut In Coco

Hey brother, we are definitely from the same era, I was playing 23s & reserve grade at Wests when Tommy Redonikous was the king, ol Dallas Donnelly was a good mate of mine. Played a couple of 1st games 1980 when Manly pouched Les Boyd & John Doherty. I was to small to be a forward, not fast enough to be a back, & liked playing up to much to be first grade fit.
Mate just want to run my set up by you see if I have got it all down, seeds should arrive this week & it's go time. Got a 3.2 x 3.2 x 6 tent for veg with a 400w led full spectrum light. A 4.7x 4.7 x 7 tent with. 1200w led light for flowering with the long term goal of having a perpetual garden.
I got 200 litres of coco / perlite mix, nutes, small pots, big pots. I know I need a ph meter ( what sort would you suggest) but what else have I overlooked that will be needed to do this right. Your now my Guru OZ, lol

Hi mate. I moved to the U.K in 78 and kinda missed all amalgamations of clubs. The Roosters were just Easts, Rabihtos South, Bears North and you Maggies West. Bulldogs were Canterbury Bankstown, Staints didn't include Illawarra, Sea Eagles, Manly had Mal O'Rielly, Sharks were Cronulla...Johhny Bishop was there then I think. Ohhhhh, memory on overtime here lol. Penrith (mountain men), Parramatta Eels, Newtown, Balmain Tigers......That's about all I can remember lol. I played full back, Getting past Russ Fairfax at Easts was NEVER gonna happen lol :)
Anyway, your grow :) Impressive sizes mate.....If Trich reads this he'll shit (he ONLY gets ft and inches lol) For HIS benefit....are you talking feet ? I it's metres then you need loads MORE light buddy lol :) PH is pretty critical mate.....5.8 is spot on in coco and Blue Lab truncheon is the best way to check (I use litmus paper....I shit you not lol) PPM/E.C is a great tool too if you want BANG on readings. I've got a BlueLab one....used it ONCE but basically now I just use a graduated 60ml syringe and measure nutes accurately :) Buddy, if there's ANYTHING you need to know just ask....if I don't the answer one of my 420 brothers or sister WILL:Namaste: :)

Thanks pal, sizing is in ft & inches, thought it easier for all to understand. I am an ignorant old bugger, what's EC?
Also do I need to check the coco ph or just the water? Footy is different from the old days mate, not as many blues but the kids are so fit & hard you wonder how they back up every week after getting smashed

Ahhhh WAX ON...WAX OFF:ciao::ciao: All's good here Mr Miagi....just finishing your fender (code for No2 J) :) This B.C is different class :) No back pain, not couch locked but SO mellowed....I love it :)
Hey Glenys.....that's spot on my friend :) Lights are good for that size area:) EC is "electric conductivity" basically how much nutes in your water or PPM. As I said...just use a good syringe and measure both water AND nutes accurately :) Don't even try measuring your coco for PH......I did initially but soon learnt it changes by the minute as it dries....foooooked my head that did lol :) As Cult says...you REALLY can't mess up in coco unless your a total "Strop" (Hogan gag buddy lol ).
I really miss the rugby mate. Smashed my knee BIG time (total separation of ACL, ML AND PL) basically the skin was holding my leg together. I was 26 at the time. Did it playing for my county (Durham)....sheeeet it hurt lol. Had it rebuilt twice since then but the cold kicks the arthritis in lol.....thank god for meds :)
What school did you go to buddy? I was at Sydney Boys High :)

Good advice OZ...I love my blue lab meter...I've had others that were crap

I loved my Blue Lab until it got wet and I ruined it. It needed calibration before use and then monthly.

Don't ever expose it to tap water, even for cleaning.

I use strips now, no cleaning, no batteries, no calibrating, no worries, they cost pennies (US coin).

I welcomed another NOOB from Ozstralia and gave him this link because he did a fine intro with pics of his named plants, he made me laugh so I sent him to this helpful, smartish, & awesome circle.

dv, did you click this link yet?

(username: dvusz Please translate "dvusz" for me Oz) bedtime,

GO Patriots!!!

here's a link to noob/Stumpy and the other plant, I'm terrible with names.

Like strop, lol , I am more like luigi the unbelievable so I chose well going with the coco. I went to Birrong boys high OZ, seems like a long time ago now. So matey, do I need the ph metre if I use the strips

Hi mate. Personally I wouldn't bother with meters of any description. I've got them but don't use them. I am very anal about measuring amounts though. When I mix nutes I measure EXACTLY 40ltrs (sorry Trichie lol) and add EXACTLY 160mls (full strength) of my Canna A then 160mls of Canna B....Like Trich says, I to PH test with litmus paper AFTER nutes are added (the nutes lower PH). Our water is hard as iron here so I add 3ml of PH down to my nutes (Its just that I now KNOW exactly how much of this, that n the other to add through experience). Another advantage of Coco growing is it drains SO well that it rarely, if ever, becomes "hot" (nute laden) . But just to be safe I use PH'd water ONLY on every 4th "feed".....(yes Mick...bugger all, just water lol) Hope this info helps mate :)

Oz is right he's not lying he is very anal
And the advice is good too :)
Good morning guys :)

There's ALWAYS one isn't there lol :) I knew that comment would appeal to "naughty schoolboy" Alex lol :)

Good weed to you on Skunkday OZ. I'm probably going to move my Flux Girls up to 8" pots this week but unfortunately, coco will have to wait. Had to spend too much on my missus' POS car. :(
