Overlord's Adventures With High Brix

Update time:

Temps & RH have balanced out for the last week or two.
The addition of some epsom salt is starting to green the leaves back up on the ones that were showing darker veins.

And some pics.

Wednesday will be 7 weeks from flip, so a few more weeks to go.

:peace:

I forgot to mention:

TheDungeon is taking on a nice scent of grapes.

IC91 is currently smells like over ripe melons.

PanJam , well that is a tough one as it has some fruity and I guess the breeders description fits it best with a bit of a metal pollution smell. It is hard to describe, but it is by no means offensive just different.

The colas/buds on TheDungeon & IC91 are thick and very dense.
PanJams buds are not as dense, but still fairly tight considering her mostly sativa nature.

Whoa! Those are some sweet colas m’lord! Lovely colors in your pictures.

I’m feeling a serious case of envy.....wow!

With that grapey smell, do they turn color too? It’s hard for me to see in the pictures. It looks possible, but I’m too tired at the moment to focus in.

Hold on, I’ll try the iPad instead of the phone.......

Does the IC91 really have that lovely blue tone? That’s stunning. I was thinking it was lighting, but I’m wrong about that, aren’t I?

In the group pic the coloration looks more obvious. That are a sweet grouping. I miss them after they're harvested, but only until they’re replaced. Lol!

I’m glad I stayed up long enough to catch the update. Well worth the stop. :hugs:

Hey...you’re making Doc’s work look good. :thumb:

Does the IC99 really have that lovely blue tone? That’s stunning. I was thinking it was lighting, but I’m wrong about that, aren’t I?

Actually Sue you are correct about the lighting. I did hold a LED light up to shine some light inside the cola. It wasn't showing very well in past pics.

As far as Grapey color, the strain is Alcatraz og X Dark Desire, the DD is from gooey breeder and does turn purple.
When they 1st started to flower I did notice some purple in the buds, but since the heat wave not so much.

Hmmm.... You think the heat.......oh yeah....the purple is typically expressed as a response to colder temps. Lol! Sometimes I can be incredibly dense. I don't consider this so much because the ones I grow that change do so regardless of the temps. DDA in particular is absolutely stunning in bloom.

Alright, off to bed now. Enjoy the buzz. :kisstwo:

Thank You Sue,
However with work the way it is once again, I just make sure to alternate drenches and waterings. The rest is on cruise control. Well except dealing with unexpected heat issues.

:thanks:

The beauty of the kit is the simplicity. Don't ever take my alternate choice as proof that I devalue what you all grow with those magical mineral-eating microbes. :battingeyelashes: I was made for hempy. That's all this is about. I was wishing like nothing going that there was some way to run the kit with hempy, and by God, if it were possible I wouldn't have given away all those supplies I'd just purchased to another lucky cultivator.

I may not grow with the kit, but you'd be hard-pressed to find someone more passionate about promoting it, in my own way.

Except you Duggan :kisstwo:

I've been using the Kit since Doc put it together, I've watched dozens and dozens of other growers use it and that, my friend, is the key to success. :p

It's amazing what will happen if you get lazy and distracted and busy with other stuff. As long as your environment stays intact, as long as you don't let them go dry in bloom, as long as you get them their drench or water on time, they'll do very well all by themselves.

That's whats golden about DBHBB. They do almost as well if you just ignore them. :slide::bongrip:

I am 100% with you on that, but as a renter, I am limited in what I can do for my grow in regards to my environment.
So I really need to pay attention in order to compensate to major shifts regarding the weather.

However I have added improvements over the last year, which is much more then what I had on my 1st DBHBB grow.
Back then I ran some Jack Herrer, with pretty much the same hectic schedule straight to 12/12 & still couldn't complain about the end product at all.

Having just switched from hydro, there was a bit of a unlearning to go through. I could grow quicker & better quantity with hydro, but not the quality. Between both the learning curve and lack of dedication, the 1st DBHBB buds were more fragrant, better flavor and smoother. Bud washing probably also plays a roll here, which is something I would not have considered if not for Doc and the forums here.

I try to watch all the DBHBB threads here, whether it is Doc or one of the gang advising another, I always pick up on something new.

You wouldn’t believe the notes I’ve taken on DBHBB over the years. I should send you those cards m’lord, almost sent them the other day, but for some unknown reason I held them back, for now at least. I won’t be using them again, and there’s some gold in there.

I’ll take another look and re-evaluate that hesitation. Maybe I’ll pull them together into a unit and post on Class Notes. That sounds like a good idea. Then everyone can benefit from the effort. I’ll see what I can do with them. :battingeyelashes:

Plants looking great Overlord! Man that IC91 is looking beatuful!

So far I am really liking her, and when I say smells like over ripe melons. I mean exactly that, spot on, she had a slight burnt rubber odor at first. Wondering how she is going to finish up over all though, and am curious as to how the other pheno would grow.

According to Ohso the 2nd pheno's growth is more like the afghani and can be topped for multiple colas. This pheno is as he described for the 1st pheno, large top cola and golf ball sized buds on lower branches.

You should pop some.

I thought so too on the PanJam, but that may be due to the G13 WW in the Panama Powerhouse.

It must be it. I have seen some White Widows that ran 11 weeks or so though. They were some very sativa leaning phenos of it though. I am sure the one that was bred into the panama powerhouse is probably one of the better phenos of the white widow. One of my biggest issues with the older strains is that most every company has their own version of it and finding the right one to run can be a problem. Almost every Dutch/European breeder has WW and the range of phenos is all over the place. One of my issues with Blueberry as well. It is so hard to tell where people sourced cuts of Blueberry due to at least 5 breeders having their own version of it. I have grown out Dutch Passions and was less than impressed, I also grew out a cut I got that smelt great but the structure was awful. The best one I saw was a cut my buddy had and unfortunately it was lost before I got into growing myself.

Anyways rant over, nice looking plants bud. I am interested in what you think of the PanJam when you are done.
