Overlord Does Ethos Mandarin Cookies In High Brix

I seem to recall the Recharge, EC is Pre-Cat, yes ? If so do we want to time
it around that ?

It's not set in stone, Gazoo. But here's the thought process:

All the minerals in the soil are going to magically change into stems, leaves, buds, resin, roots, etc. So, when the plant triples in size during stretch, it's safe to say that a good bit of the minerals are now used up and in the stems, roots, etc and the soil is becoming depleted. That's a good time to add more minerals.

Would it hurt to add them a week earlier or later? Probably not. You just want them available for the second half of bloom AND for when the soil is recycled.

Remember, the minerals aren't "plant food" so much as microbe food.

I was sure I read once you mentioned the CAT needed the Recharge and EWC to
do its thing, so figured timing was important to make sure it was available prior to
its use

EDIT: Also thinking 3 weeks is right around the BUD SET so wanted to get
it clear

Well, if I said "CAT needed the Recharge and EWC to do its thing," let me first say that I smoke a lot of really good weed, every night. I may say a lot of stuff. Second, I'm not sure what context I may have said that in....but it's not part of the directions, neither is it something I consider important.

They often find themselves in the same pot at the same time, but there is nothing saying one can't come before the other.

What the Cat Drench needs to be truly effective is a very happy, well colonized and functioning root system. The soil, up until Cat Drench is slightly skewed to the vegetative side of growth, due to the nitrate form of nitrogen and the relatively slow releasing organic nitrogen in Transplant. It is slightly anionic....slightly negatively charged. This is why it is more focused on vegetative growth.

The Cat Drench is going to change all that and load the soil up with Cations, from the NH3 (ammonia) form of nitrogen, mixed with sulfur and also phosphorus and the organic form of nitrogen, which is already slightly skewed to the reproductive side of things. This abrupt change in ionic balance flips a switch in the microbial population and thus the plant and soil are slammed with energy that is highly reproductive in nature, which is why we see the resin literally form overnight.

The only thing required for this to happen is a soil that isn't super loaded down with 14 organic ingredients and high potassium compost and so forth. Soils like that can't be changed in a single drench. But our mineralized, High Brix soil is designed to be nimble in that way. We can change it with drenches and foliars, and once you get the rhythm down and get a couple trouble free grows under your belt you'll learn that you can change it when you want to and do things to your favorite strains.

Yep, the veteran HB gang will tell you, things happen with the application of these products, and once you know their ways and results you can really dial a strain in with drench/foliar timing.

That's basically how I grow....I pour from one gallon bottles of drenches and tea into buckets of barrels...no measuring. I no longer keep a detailed journal of each and every strain, but only new ones. I can just kinda tell what to do by hanging out with the plants and inspecting each one, every day.

The funny thing? It basically amounts to following directions. A few days after Transplant drenches....the stems get a bit softer. Brix also softens them for a couple days.

I see that and instinctively want to use Growth Ionic (energy) drench next to harden up the stems.......then I notice that the leaves are every so slightly twisting.....so I know to water only....etc. It's gonna be like riding a bike once you get your philosophical headspace right. That can take a while for some....but you'll get it.

Awesome Now that's exactly what I needed, well said, Thank you very much
This really does help me a lot

Update Time:

This time I am sure I didn't get the buckets mixed up. How do I know?
Well.. they were given straight RO Water..

Overall everything seems fine, The back 2 plants have mostly filled in the screen. The front two are pretty bare in the middle, but have some growth working their way up to the screen or at the screen.

1st pic, I was trying to get a pic of the bubbles after top watering. By the time I could get focused, they were mostly gone. If you look close you might be able to pick out a few bubbles.

In this pic, I am trying to capture how much fuller the rear of the screen is compared to the front.

Front left, see how much more bare in the middle of the plant.

Front right, the middle of this one is barest of the 2.

Front almost level shot. Just 48 hours ago all this was tucked level under the screen.

Underneath, I will take most of this off, with the exception of the growth in the middle. Don't believe I will go more than a couple more days before I flip. We will see.

Here is what is coming up next run, which as I was saying earlier will mostly likely be some sort of perpetual grow. I have somewhere around 75 to 80 strains yet to grow. Some more modern hybrids, other old school classics, and several landraces as well.

Closer look, this is GDPupil from massmedical. A friend pheno hunted and selected this one because it stacked very well. According to him, it is the best of 6 or 7 purple strains he has grown.

Transplanting tomorrow from cloner is a closer look at Warbird OG. This is a clone only strain sourced & bred by Hed in Orlando Florida, via Ohsogreen of ISP seeds. There was only about 4 or 5 people with this cut (SFV OG X West Coast Dawg F2) Now I guess 12 to 15 people have it. The Warbird branches out horizontally like crazy, not much for stretch in flower, low yielding, but extremely potent.

And finally a flowering pic of Warbird OG from the person I got my cut from. He said that is a 2.5 gallon pot

Until next time...

Nice man! It is great that you have been able to acquire a clone only strain or two. I dont think Mass Medical Seeds makes the GDPupil any more so it is awesome that you got your hands on it. I have a pack of Star pupil I plan to grow at some point but who knows when that will be. I have a couple of strains coming up that are supposed to purple and will base when I grow them off of that. With my luck they will all be green. Though my Mendo Purple Urkle is changing colors.

Yeah I have always enjoyed Scrog, and I just can't stand to see a screen that isn't filled.
It warms my hear to hear that .
