I hear ya Mr Krip. Janet's boy had let that lemon tree get bad root bound and it was sitting in water for god knows how long. So I transplanted it, fed it some longer term organic fert's, and sprayed her with some fungicide, Eagle W 20, and started letting her dry out. I was just in there and man she has a ton of flowers. All slinging out pollen. Maybe I should cross it with my SLH I have started. JK But the last Super Lemon Haze I grew probably had better smell so far than that tree. But is does brighten up the flower room.
I'm been having a problem with acouple strains. When they are going into transition from veg to flower, I get some leaves with spots that look like mite bites but has the color of rust. Doesn't bother they plants really they kind of grow out of it. I'm thinking it's a calcium Defincey. Calcium deficiencies tend to make plants draw more K and that might be it also. I know we have a crazy low PPM tap here which could be another factor in this. Any how, I got something elseto amend my soil with, called green sand. I'm try to figgure a slower released fertilizer that kind of hangs around till it goes out for recycle at a local 'community veggie garden'. If ya run into alot of old soil, thats a place to consider dump it. Hey it's got tons of 'goodies' in it still. Well here's what I found on 'green sand'
It is mainly potash and a hydrated silicate of iron. It releases its nutritional benefits through an ion exchange action in the soil.
The mineral, which contains a huge amount of potassium plus trace minerals (as many as 30), has been used since the 1700s.
It has been used as a fertilizer and soil conditioner. It loosens clay soils and increases the water-holding capability of sandy soils.
Kind of wonder now how much?
Recommended application is 2-4 pounds per 100 square feet or 1 tonne per acre.
The New Jersey version contains 20% iron oxide and 7% Potassium (Potash). The ancient sea deposit gives a slow release of Potash and the other essential minerals.
The Texas type of greensand, also known as glittergreen, has pretty much same the properties as the New Jersey type. It's a potassium and iron soil supplement recommended as a mulch, conditioning additive or top dressing. It slow-releases nutrients, loosens soils and holds water.
Greensand is non-soluble in water, so will not burn plants. It's safe to handle and is odorless. Best of all, it can be applied any time of the year.
Unfortunately, there's one big drawback to using this mineral soil amendment. Greensand was created millions of years ago in seabeds that covered New Jersey, Texas and Arkansas. Obviously, those seas are gone, so there's no more greensand being created.
I guess that means not too much, 1/4-1/3 cup. Guess that's close. Well I just 'juiced' the plants with a regular dose on fert's plus some exxxxtra cal-mg. I mean 12 mills per gallon. I know the problem is caused by me. Well next plants will have some in it. I tend to forget, soil-less. Means just that. Nothing as far as nutreints, well close. I've got a mix made up acoulpe gallons of the amendments in a 5 gallon bucket. I've been using like 1/2 a cup when I transplant to the finish pots. Babble babble. Hey I did get a pic of the leaves. This is the P-91 leaf;
And;
Kind of looks like goldish or rusty. Mainly is on the larger fan leaves. The plants are looking fine growing good but, Got afew ugly sun leaves till we defoliate. It drives Janet crazy when I 'try' to get her to not pick them off for awhile. Least till they start to throw out some buddage.
LOL works Miwa. Glad to see ya drop by. Hope alls growing great your way. Same old here.
Xlr my old lady watches that. But your 100% right that's one sad show. Talk about torture, once I had to self surender myself for some BS. But I had a abd problem going with my hip so I went in medical. Figgured a hospital bed with your own TV, some books, sounded better than all that LOUD NOISE. I think I was stuck for like 90 days of public tv. Till I could find a way to mainline. Dude that run me crazyin a week. I ended up not wearing a brace I was suppose to wear. So I could get away from that room.
Well Hey to all out there. Hope alls doing great and Keepem Green
