You're probably familiar with most of this, but maybe you can spot something that might help:

Solution: How to Get Rid of Broad Mites On Cannabis

Once you’ve actually identified that the bugs you have on your cannabis are broad mites, it’s time to get rid of them! When it comes to broad or russet mites, a lot of the “standard” miticides are not as effective and you’ll notice these particular mites aren’t listed on the labels.

Broad mites can be one of the toughest marijuana pests to get rid of, but it can be done if you stay vigilant!

  • Treat often – You may have to treat several times a week or even daily if you have a terrible infestation that won’t go away. This can be very difficult on your plants.
  • Spray Before Lights Go Out – Whenever treating plants with a spray, do it before the lights go off so that your plant is less likely to get burned!
  • Read Instructions – Make sure to read the full instructions of each bottle and follow them when treating your plants. You will save yourself a lot of big headaches!
  • Repeat treatments weeky for 5 more weeks after mites are gone – After you think broad or russet mites are completely gone, don’t stop! Treat your plant with a different treatment at least once a week for 5 additional weeks. If you don’t completely erradicate them they’ll come back with a vengence and be even more resistant to whatever you throw at them.
1.) Neem Oil

Neem Oil will leave an unpleasant taste/smell on buds when used to treat flowering plants, so again, don’t let this stuff get near your buds! There’s also some evidence Neem oil may be harmful to humans so use with care! That being said, Neem oil is an all-natural remedy that is very effective against many different types of bugs and mold, including broad mites.

Neem oil can be rough on your plants so you don’t want to use it more often than you have to because your plants will suffer. However, if you get desparate treating plants daily with Neem oil is very effective at killing broad mites when nothing seems to be working.

You will need a mister (also called a “One-Hand Pressure Sprayer”) to spray all the leaves evenly, since neem oil and water can separate easily.

2.) Essentria IC3

Essentria IC3 Insecticide is a mix of various horticultural oils that is organic and safe for humans. It is often marketed as a “bed bug killer” but it can be effective against broad mites or russet mites when the plants are treated regularly. Unfortunately it only stays effective on the plant for about 8 hours so you will want to either apply this daily or combine with other options. You will need a mister (also called a “One-Hand Pressure Sprayer”) to spray all the leaves evenly.

3.) Insecticidal soaps

Fatty acid salts or insecticidal soaps can be a good choice against broad mites. They weaken the outer shell of broad mites but are safe to use on your plants and they don’t leave much of a residue which could kill beneficial bugs in your garden.

With soaps, just like horticultural oils, coverage is very important as it does not stay on your plant for long, so follow-up applications may be necessary. Although this is considered safe, avoid getting any on your buds!

This will not get rid of broad mites on its own, but it is less harsh on your plants than some of the other options and so it can be a great way to supplement the other treatments you’re doing.

4.) Mighty Wash

Mighty Wash is a time-tested way to rid your grow room of broad mites. Spray plants 15 minutes before lights out, making sure to drench the foliage under the leaves as well as the top of your soil. You want to use a spray bottle or mister. Use a fan to blow on your leaves to help things dry. Treat your room more than once, even if you believe the broad mites are gone.

Use Mighty Wash with a One-Handed Power Sprayer for the best results!

5.) Avid

Avid miticide is strong stuff with harsh chemicals, and is incredibly expensive, but it can sometimes do the job when nothing else is working. This is a systemic insecticide, which means it works by infiltrating the inside of plant tissue and killing bugs that way. Because of that it should NOT be using in the flowering stage (you don’t want this stuff inside your buds). However, many growers report that this is the only thing that consistently works for them. Always use Avid as directed and only as a last resort! You will need a mister (also called a “One-Hand Pressure Sprayer”) to spray all the leaves evenly.

Don’t use this product more than once or twice in a row or your mites may become resistant. This should stay in your plant’s system for several weeks. If you’re going to be using systemic insecticides, switch back and forth between this and another one like Forbid. Make sure to follow the instructions!

6.) Forbid

Forbid miticide is sort of like Avid in that it is made of strong stuff with harsh chemicals and is also expensive. This is a systemic insecticide, which means it works by infiltrating the inside of plant tissue and killing bugs that way. Because of that it should NOT be using in the flowering stage (you don’t want this stuff inside your buds). However, many growers report that this can be the only thing that consistently works for them. Always use Forbid as directed and only as a last resort! You will need a mister (also called a “One-Hand Pressure Sprayer”) to spray all the leaves evenly.

Don’t use this product more than once or twice in a row or your mites may become resistant. This should stay in your plant’s system for several weeks. If you’re going to be using systemic insecticides, switch back and forth between this and another one like Avid. Make sure to follow the instructions!

7.) Diatomaceous Earth

Diatomaceous Earth is basically fossil dust which you sprinkle on the top of your soil, and anywhere else in your room (window sills, doorways, etc). This powder-like substance is harmless to mammals and plants, but is incredibly sharp at the microscopic level. Therefore it will tear and dehydrate broad mites on physical contact. This will not get rid of an infestation, but can help prevent, control and slow things down when used effectively! When it comes to broad mites, you want to use every tool you can!

8.) Heat

Broad mites don’t like the heat. Some growers will try to get rid of them by on small plants or clones by dunking the plants in hot water (105°F / 40°C) for 10-20 minutes. I’ve also heard of growers try to reduce their number by overheating the grow space to 115°F (46°F) for an hour. Be careful as this can be dangerous if you don’t take safety precautions, and any heat method strong enough to kill the mites will likely hurt your plants.

9.) Predatory Mites

Some types of predatory mites, like Neoseiulus type mites, love to eat broad mites. Supplementing your garden with extra predators can help bring down broad or russet mite numbers. However, it’s not enough to fix the problem on their own and unfortunately a lot of the other remedies on this page will also kill predatory mites.

If you don’t want to use any pesticides, get predatory mites to help eat all your broad mites!

Like who the fuck needs a pool in Portland?

We had a pool growing up. After many years, my father filled it in with dirt and grew beautiful roses in an enormous rose garden. It was fun... but it's a lot of work and a good bit of square footage for 3mos. of swimming weather. Better to know someone with a pool rather than run one yourself.
In a previous NOLA house, my neighbor had 2 AC units connected to her pool somehow chilling the water.

I see you here in afew years???

Perhaps. I'm liking somewhere east of Tillamook perhaps. A spot along the Nestucca somewhere might be nice. Just dreaming.

Naw I meant I see ya here doing this over there But atad smaller... But still Oregon is a pretty place. Youd be shroomed out if ya got a place over in Tillamook,,,,,
This is that guy that was Miss J's adopted son,, kind of. if needed I can talk to him about product IF it all works out for ya.
One hella setup. Almost twice the size he's got here. But he has three warehouses around here going. Plus Colorado. I mean I know the boy got big,,, but. I also heard the larger tobacco companies are trying to get their fingers in this shit.

And if I was 20 years younger,, I'd drain the pool and use it for a skateboarding place..

Good info Mister K. I do have most of it but its always good to throw a easy read out there. Important one too..

I found the suckers early,, I think. I sprayed the hell out of them,, and I,m going to try lady bugs. After the power wash I did,, should'd be alot left. Least see if they work. I read they work good on them...

Well that depends....................... I know acouple that were convicted felons for selling pot 20 years back.. And he's doing well now.^^^^^^ I imagine it wood depend on the crime.. and who you know......

Here in Oregon, they have the easiest ways to regain your rights. Certificate of Rehabilitation. Regain your rights. Right to keep and bear arms restored..... You can damn near get them even with a violent crime on record.. Depends on what it was and if you been a good boy for the lat whatever. A judge makes the decision. So that makes things more flexible than something written in black and white.

I been locked up more than once,,, Knock on Wood,,, And if you been slammed before,, you know what a Peckerwood is.. Hense my name....I've never seen the jail here.. Been here for over 10 years. I had two number in Cali's Prisons. Discharged the last number in 92'. I have no 'really violent' crimes cept bar fights and such.. Beat a car up with a ball bat once. Wanted to beat the owner,, but he woodn't come out of the building. He was a Chester'''' that hit on my stepdaughter,, she was 12. One of her teachers. I still caught an assault charge. I plead to a bad charge,, but it got me out right then. Rest of my shit was mostly drinking shit. I use to love to scrap.... I knew all the biker bars in the bay area.

Well it's time to hit the outdoor girls this morning with a tad of neem,,,, This atomizer sprayer is worth it's weight in gold..... Shooting them with Captin Jacks. Works great on caterpillars,,, but they claim it will work on the bug. Then I'm going to spray afew ladybugs with a soap spray so they can't fly off with gummed up wings............

I ended up trying the Captin Jacks on them,, Got a full bottle right here.......I got everything in the back. Including the Black Bitch.............. And she got it heavy as I can with these tornadoes in a sprayer, You can stand way back and cover the whole thing in a must for larger gardens, It fogs everything... You can stand back 4-5' and spray the whole thing... Something any large scale grower might need. I have to spry my flower room. Next spray she gets blasted with it... Then I got 2500 ladybugs

Music was for another thread.. But here's my sprayer............

Ya know.... I don't often view vids here. I did view the Shango one the first time you posted it. I took notes.
I wasn't impressed with the buds I was seeing. I assume they were shooting for quality vs quantity.... or perhaps for timing vs income reasons.

Yeah i've never been too happy with shango.. They were selling bunk isolate that was only like 70 something percent thca. Their distillate is alright. Flower however always looks/smells/tastes great but has damn near no effect.. While boasting 36% thc on most of their strains. There are a few other oregon farms that seem to be heading down the same road..

Woody i am constantly in gresham, i have to go out there with a friend who owns a garden shop to pick up from his wholesale distributor about once a week so i will definitely hit you up the next time im out there. Anyways im back off to the coast so ill catch you later, sorry to hear about the mites. I have been using this all natural pesticide this year called trifecta, i will bring you a sample when i come up. Stuff is kinda spendy but you can actually see bugs explode when it comes into contact with them, so thats pretty cool lol. Keep em green

Iffin I lived in Tillamook,, I wood'nd be looking for ice cream... Alot of good cow pasture out there. And that has the makings of a party right there. Cow's byproducts are alot more than just cheese..... if ya get my drift. 420 doesn't like talk about other drugs but........ And Tillamook does produce some good cheese too. And I like ice cream too tho.....

And good to see ya here @Buck5050. I like this site myself... It stays mellow here,, good peoples no drama, cept me,,,, when I get acouple too many drinks going on.....

I looked up that stuff 45th. Sure is costy. About the same as the big heavy hitters like forbid cept all organic. But it wood be great to get some payback on these buggers. But to see them explode that wood bring a smile to my face. What kind of goodies are you picking up for his garden shop? Who knows,, you guys might even be able to make a sale over this ways.... Shango has alot of different flowers. But true,, most of these 'stores' sell sub quality shit........ When I first moved here I got ahold of a pheno of Vantage that rocked everyone's socks. I just harvest acouple pounds of it,, so I went down to this store,, just for fun,, I took a prime bud with me.. I asked for the best bottle in the house,, well bud, and what they gave me wasn't near as good as what I had. I, in turn, gave him a piece off the bud to sample on,, he was stoked. I asked if he was interested,, he said hell ya.. But the price he quoted me was a joke. Less than half of what he was selling his crappy ass pot for. Greedy SOB. I told him no thanks,, before I'd sell it for nothing,, I told his fool ass I'd stand in front of his store and give it away to people before they were going in..

That sprayer is like a hurricane with an on-off switch. You'd think it wastes alot of product,, but it is surprisedly not,, it makes a gallon go for long ways. A gallon wood spray most everything I have going. Cept I spray really heavy.. IF your going to spray something,, don't do it half-assed.
.
Well this hangover is going to bed..............

Got this gallon,,, well 3/4 th of it called 86 ed. I been there,,, 86ed before........... But I been looking at the label and it might be great for a switch up spray if I do inside again.. Just feed them tonight. They always look nitro hungry.. And leaf yellows fast turning to purple with these puppies.....................

Maybe,,, I'll fill a jug and try inside as a secondary spray......... I think I will,,, all organic oils..........

And it was gifted me by a sponsor...... It's called Nor-Cal 86 mites and molds.......... Who knows,, I could be sitting on god's best creation to kill mites??????????? Like all the claims? And I haven't ever tried it in a rotation? That might change this last foggings as I'm going to blast all the lower points. Most have been picked anyways.. Just top colas,,, and I'll be happy as hell with that's...............
