Our Ongoing Grows

Hey MI,,,,, IF she has a soft stem,, you can try what I call Figure S'ing. There is a pic like 3/4 of the way down this page I did with SLH I was growing that ran away on me. I don't like to supercrop myself,, unless that's the only option.
Our Ongoing Grows

Thanks Woody. I tried to bend it around some. But the stem is hardened off. It's a sturdy stem. My own fault for not flipping it sooner. I'm notorious for over vegging. Got 6 under the 2 lights and could use a 3rd light. Might have to throw up couple shitty lights I have stashed. Could have worse problems I guess. I'm running low on smoke. I had bunch of jars that had next to nothing in each one, shake and small nugs here and there. So I decided ahead and grind it all together. I call it my medical medley. It's not too bad. Lol

If it's hardened, you just need to bend a little at-a-time and adjust/tighten every coulple/few days. If you don't have a tie-off point on the container, you can tie some light fishing weights to the stem (or, heavier weights with just enough line to give the slight tension you need). :goodluck:

Yea like Mister K said there,, little by little. I tie mine back to the main stem of the plant if possible. It's hard when they are woody. I've snapped more than afew in my days super cropping woodier plants. Them you got to roll in your fingers to soften them up. But she looks young in flower,, so might be worth it ti kind of start straining her down alittle every inch will help. I've even had to lean my pots over.. LOL works as long as you don't water fast. But like said,,, takes acouple grows to know a plant,, whats shes going to do and eat. Thats a good thing about clones...... Even from seeds of the same batch, plants won't behave the same....... Least in a clone,, you know what ya got.....
You can post pics anytime you need to on here.. BTW what part of MI?

Do you know where Michigan City is.. ? I was 7 miles from it coming from Ind ways when the cops ended my Macon County Line shit I did as a youngster. Took 3 holes in me and 78 holes in the truck to stop it. 4 cop cars totaled. I was in a blackout joyriding..... oh well.. I dropped a 3 million lawsuit, they dropped their shit. When I tell peeps that shit they think I'm a lying piece of shit.

Things we do when we were young dumb and full of cu,,,,,

I use yoyos to hook to the pots and adjust the tension as needed. I also just let them dangle from thin branches, just like a hanging weight. Whatever works, right?

Ok my mind wandered again. Imagine an end that wood clip/snap to a pot so you could damn near set it on its side,,, doing a new form of LST'ing a plant... Man, you could market the cover,,,, that snaps on your plastic pots,, and a cradle to hold your pots in various sizes????????? Naw..........

Hey Good idea there Sky,, use them ass backwards.. I like that...

I've used fishing weights in the past to tie tops over and train them down... Same thing with a Yo Yo........

I know I've done the super cropping thing many times in the past... Sometimes,,, that's all you can do. But if you think about it,, can't be good to kink that water supply to a flower that's 90% water? I understand the veins swell at the knuckles and all,,, but can't be good. Has to be some restriction in flow. Ask the nurse every time they have problems even drawing blood, let alone start a IV.... I have faith you'll figure something if needed. She looked to be done,, or close to done, growing upwards......... Maybe the slot between the lights,,, but that place looks full.. JK

Agreed! Supercropping is definitely NOT LST, or low stress anything, for that matter. It is certainly more stressful on the plant and takes time to recover whereas there's no recovery time with LST.

This is why I'm a fan of photo period plants, so I can do the lot of the training in veg and pretty much plan out the skeleton before it kicks me where the good Lord split me.

Yeah, me, too! But, no matter how good the training in veg, it's tough to predict the stretch in flower when growing a new strain. Occasionally you'll get one that has a mind of her own and wants to claim the whole grow space! :)

Never been to Mi city Woody. I'm couple hours east of there. I used to be wild when I was in my 20's. Rode with some rough crowds. I made some life adjustments and moved out to BFE. Still in contact with some of those people's. Some are in the the ground. Been 20 years or so since any problems with the fuzz. Life is good bro

I haven't had a run in with the cops is,, well since 94 when I got out of Pelican Bay after a 3-year sentence. Did two years on a three. 1 year clean and discharged that number. In other words got off parole. I think my x called on me for some crap acouple times since,, but asn't anything.... But from 78-94 I seen every county jail where I had lived in and the State in Cali. Most for stupid little shit. Barroom fights, DUI, even assault on a school official. I beat his car with a baseball bat. He woodn't come out of the building,, so I laid into his car... Toasted that BMW. He made some rude comments to my stepdaughter who was 13. I got thrown in jail for it. The judge,, who by this time we knew each other on a first name basis, understood and when really lite on me,, time served. The school was pissed at me. Till three months later he was caught doing inappropriate things with a minor. He had told Maggi she was cute and should come for pizza after school. And they fired him. Said they were sorry to me, and wanted Maggi to come back to school there. We had pulled her from their school. But I have a list of priors that go on forever.. But I've never done what I consider a crime. All were victimless crimes,, cept them bar fights,, they were mutual.

I know I've had plants triple in size come 'the stretch' or what I call transitioning. Mainly them satvai type plants, like Thai and alot of the Hazes. And then some only go 30% and they are done. Like said,, that's when it pays to know the plant. Clones are the ticket,,, the same bag of seed which is supposed to be stabilized but will still give ya all kinds of plants. Find a strain whose smoke you like,, make sure you take a cut,, keep it and every grow will get better as you know what to expect and how to react....

Isn't anything really happening here... About everything is into flower out there.. I got afew pics of that Jack-47 Fast Version. She got bigger than I wanted. But whaat ya going do? Kill her? But she could've used another 10 gallons of soil but We'll see I still got a half gallon of my GH Floranova. Cool little one part fertilers program for the lazyman.. I do add afew other of the regiment when I make a batch. I still use my little wheelbarrow to mix up 15-20 gallons at a time. Good little unit. But here she is;;

Damn fly was shitting on my leafage.....

I also took acouple of this growth on the Red Desiel. This is only on the bottom branches,, the rest look normal? But hard to see whats what.. I can't open it up,, it's hella crowed in there. But this is the tip of the branch. Might be 100 little tops inside. Well 50 but ALOT. Could be a good thing,, or turn into shit? But I aim to find out.

And Long Dark Ass Legged Lady. She is '''just'' now started flowering.

I also snuck in right before lights on and took acouple;;

That's about it,,, unless I get babbling again tonight,, Hell'''nights early'''' and the 'night shift' just started...............

I enjoy some midnight rambles lol. Of forgot to say grats on the security setup there bud. Speaking of buds you'll have a few by the looks of it! That Diesel is looking pretty nuts with all that growth. I'll grab a drink some snacks and watch that one closely

Going be awhile here Mister Dabber... Better bring alot of drinks and a deep freeze full of snacks....... I do supply,, but been known to run out.. And harvest is about 2 months from now...

Penny I am going to let her do what she can here. I have a feeling I will be harvesting her earlier than she might want.. Seeing she's going to be the last one to start flowering..

Now if I could fine tune that damn camera,,, Sure I busted Miss J stripping down for a fast skinny dip to cool down,,, and deleted my crippled ass from my dip... but the little rat dog..... He's the problem. He sets it off... And I really don't need alot of white flood lamps blasting the yard everytime he wants to piss. They have a human only setup,,, which he still trips. And I don't like having to unplug them before he goes out.. But if that's whats what....

I been playing with my light meter... So this rambling most most understand.......Damn the LED does fall off fast. All my talk on my meter says X's 1,000,,, and is in lums. Id say the lights are at about 16-18" standoff. In the center of the HID it's 550 X's 1000. Which is right,,, might be time to change the bulb,,, but is comparable to a 750 watter,,, or they claim equals a 800 watt. The LED at the same,,, 475 X's 1000. But what I did see,, I didn't grab measurements or anything. Just played with the meter,, and did see that the LED light drops lums faster the deeper you go compared to the HID. And,,, when you go to the wider area of usable light,, again the HID dominates.

The LEDs do seem shorter and equal in size so far.............. So far it's all going to come to to the weight in. I have a feeling............

I'm going to say something,,, When I was gifted this light from Mars,,,, They were really slow,, so I contacted them. I was told,, they were waiting on the next improved lamp. And they wanted to send that.. I said cool. Then I was asked if I wanted to do a journal promoting them. I said I had enough trouble doing my own. 7 days later I got the Older Model. Now I'm not sniveling,, especially over some free stuff I'm happy to receive and seems to be doing a good job. But they did pee me off,,, with that E-Mail,, one thing to offer up,, and then fall back over just sending what they offered.... I do like the light,,, don't get me wrong just now I wonder what thir 'better' light wood do. The ways things look,, I can see a medical grow done with what I have. In a 4X4 tent,, it wood be perfect..............

Now I have no idea WTF I'm talking about with this meter. I understand there is a difference between the two lamps and how they are measured....
I was just taking the lens and starting at dead center in the peak of my footprint, and moving it down slowly,,, and to the left and right, up and down slowly under both lamps. Eyeballing. And putting to memory. Remember what I've said,, first to go is the memory, and I forgot the second... But I do have a ballpark idea of how the two compare when I move the lens... ...Dead center both lamps were at the closest. 2-3 inches equaled the lamps out. Not bad. But is alot more heat there in them 2 inches under the HID for sure.

But I do see higher lightage around the footprint and greater in depth with the HID. Remember,, I'm not venting, or even trying to cool down.
That is the plus I see so far with the LED instead of the second HID. The way temps been,,, I wood've been dialing down the ballasts on the really hot ones. I haven't had too,, cept one day,,, it got HOT... So far is a nice addition to my Split-Airless summer.

Like I always say,, I'm an Old Dog'. Going to take some showing to break me of old habits. And I'm not above throwing another grand or two at the flower room.. Then why haven't I got my new power box and the Split-Air... Hmmmm..

Fear of the Electric Inspector for the reboot? Maybe by... I know Miss J's son's and friends done alot of the work here under homeowner permits,, and true to form,, an inspector will never pass a thing,, unless he gets to fix something making something out the deal if not just the reinspect fees......... And wiring gets costy... All things that add to over all costs,,
