Our Ongoing Grows

Well Well well lookie what the cat drug in............... Been awhile,,,,,,,,,,,, yea acouple OG's I guess still around. I know I'm getting to be older than dirt, fact is some people here like me shook the hand with the guy who invented dirt......... Welcome back GMT. Hope things are starting to smooth out for ya. I took a fast peek and see you are up and growing again. Cool.
Welcome back and Keepem Green

Old?? Humppf. I helped log the Sahara Forest, back before it became a desert! I still remember when the dead sea was just sick. :)

This? Welcome there Blaze. Got me hanging on what ya meant tho.
Well I was just wandering around in the 'back' 40. The NLxBB I have is still looking like it's farther into flower than all the others. Time frame,, we getting late. But I got a feeling we going to have a Indian Summer. That Farmer's Almanac, predicts a good fall with nice weather into Oct. If I learned anything about the weather here in the PNW is I haven't learned anything. The only faith I have in the weather is when I wake and look out the window. I mean weather man can tell me when somethings out there coming, but as far as saying anything about rain when theres clouds, is a crapshoot. But we've had alot of that 'hotter east' winds. And my tomato's are saying Indian Summer also. They are loaded with fruits, but they aren't finishing up as quick as usual. Late fruits acoming. And my plants can use that extra week. The Speotnik I'm going is second farthest in flower by looks. It's funny this Star-47 is a clone from the 6 footer out back. They both started flowering in the yard and I just happened to have some 'extra' room in the flower room, so I drug her in for alittle better odds of having a good 12 light/12 dark regiment to finish with. But she looks a week atleast farther in;
S-4711.JPG

I have another plant that will easily fit in next to her. It's that other OG I have outside. She's really liking the yard. She well into flower and will make it for sure. That Star-47's mother is next as far as into flower, followed by Berkley Blue and then Yumblot-47. The Yumbolt-47 is going to be a last time grow for her. Last batch on my scale of all 4 major aspects of the herb, she's 6.75 outta 10. Compaired to the other herbs I've been putting out lately, she's on the bottom. Maybey she'll make a good hash plant outdoors?
Ok I got acouple pic's to update what I'm doing in the room. I had cut all them little Cripit's. They are off and running. Man talk about the typical Indica plant, here she is. Crippled Rino x PittBull = Cripit;
Cripits5.JPG

That's afew of the 8 I have. All but 1 is in 2 gallon soft pot's. The 8th is in a 3 gallon. Pot's are similar to smart pots but made of a denim type material. They look stronger and the price is right. Bags cost about a buck for the 2 gallons, 2 bucks for the 3's.
Here's a better pic of the Cripit taking off. I don't have the start date off the top of my head tho;
Cripit17.JPG

Another plant, Special Queen from Royal Seed. She's a chunky looking hybred. I see a reat yield like 5 oz's? Hey hope always hope the best. But she's really pouring on the flowering now. I've been juicing her with fert's. I'm still using Technaflora and the basic for my interior grows. I also add Fox Farm's Tri Pack 'Beasty Blooms, Open sesame, and Cha Ching', alittle Cal Mag, and Siliacate, and finish off with a drop of Molasses. The Black Gold Organic Soil has been amended with Mycrobs, blood/bone meal, worm castings, and bat crap. Whew, good thing Marijuana likes fertilizers. Ok I also crossed her with that Bubba Kush pollen and I think I can see afew swollen Calyxes kicking off on her. Miss Special Queen;

Another fast pic, its tthe Special Lady next to Miss Star-47;
S-Q_S-47.JPG

I am putting alot of stock in this Cripit. I'm shooting for a under 42 day harvest with her. I'm waiting impatiently for my Vantage seeds. I got to get to work and make me a mother plant out of her incase this Cripit turns out crapit. I'm going to need something to fill the hole. I'm sure hoping I get payed back afew seeds that were damaged. I really seen a nice plant in the Bubblious. I'm going to have to ask Pop's what he thought of Moby Dick he grew out? I hope for them also. I had pic's of three crushed and chipped seeds. Well whatever is, is. They have afew nice freebies. One is Blue Dream. I hear that plant took Cali by storm. I sure seen alot of gardens growing just 'Blue Dream'. Well I'll get acouple pic's in the next few days and update again. I hope everyones doing great out there and that their gardens are green, And Keepem Green

Looks like ya brought humboldt county north with ya! Jeez, I would even venture to sit around trimmin with ya for a taste of those lucious ladies. As always bro, ya got em rockin!

Well sometimes bigger isn't always better Pop's. Got a slight problem kicking off with some of my outdoors. Clones really aren't the best things to use for larger plants. Clones grow lateral roots. A seed throws out a 'tap root' that shoots straight down till it hits bottom or grows large enough to support the plant without having to seek anything. And still they grow. With all this soil-less substrates, coco, peat, etc. it's not really the most solid substrate to hold up a plant. When that soil gets wet it gets spongy. Add a top heavy plant without the anchor of a good tap root, and throw in alittle wind and what ya got? We all had that top heavy female we carried bye the lip of the pot only to have it fall over when ya straighten the pot. My BB has started to do that. I fixed the problem with my old grandma's method, use bed sheet. Bed sheet makes the best plant tie when you really have to put alittle pressure on the stem. 1 1/2" wide strips and it makes a extremely soft tie. Them outdoor ones are averaged 6' Pop's. Not anything like the last few summers but enough. Looks like you are rolling great over at your thread. I'll drive bye soon as I have a week or two to catch up. JK you know me I'll scan for the pic's.
Jandre, Jon, thanks for the kind words. Really that revegged Cripit is going to be one nice bush. I can also see exceptional plant potential. Short but loaded with buds. Least she won't have a lick of trouble holding them flower heads up high. Like Miwa said reveg, wow you get some strange stuff out of them. Miss J loves to play in the plants and she hates yellow leaves on a green plant. Her tweak and I won't take it from her. But really yellowed leaves can cause problems. Bugs seem to 'like' the color yellow, ' why alot of bug traps are yellow or 'blue'' and yellow leave are more easily attacked by molds or mildews. But she got cut loose on that plant. It errr should I say 'was?' thick as hell. I was worried about air movement as thick as she was. Miss J did a great job with that plant. Hopefully she fill in enoough for a decent pic.
Speaking of decent buds, harvested the first of three OG Kush's. They all will be done within a week. The first is dry allready. 4 1/2oz's. Man the buds are hella solid. Friend was wanting a 1/2oz and each bud weighted like 5-6 grams. Man 3 buds, sure looked like a small 1/2. Weed's ripper. Sad thing, I didn't clone her while I had a plant in veg. I know I can and may even yet reveg one. Kind of hard seeing I've kind of lollypopped them abit for air circulation, so I don't have much greenery around the bottom to work with. It will all come out in the wash.
Oh I was just in the flower room rotating the plants and I remembered I did a little playing with some of that Bubba 'Pre 98' pollen I had. Whatever happened in 98, I have no idea. I took a brush and dusted my Special Queen female. Idid it the same way with the white envolpe, 'don't fix something that's not broke' and left it on 2 days. Well looks like I got afew seeds started in there.
Lets see I have 8 Cripits going full speed in there. They are from a intresting plant. She flowered out at 36 days. Well least that's when I took her buy recommendations from the breeder. The weed was screamer, young ofcourse. Could've done another week. And yield was lower compaired to one I left that extra week. But her mother was a 'real fast' indo. Hey even at 45 days, right conditions and claims of some crazy Thc levels, she might work great for a breeder. If she don't fly rite tho, she will be history. I ordered some Vanatge Seeds last night. Also acouple SLH's. I reminded them about the crushed and cracked seeds. Ball's in their court now.
Oh another fast thought, I got a sprout started. Afghan x Skunk seed. I think it's from World of Seeds breeder. She's just starting to peek out in the world. She's in the 4x4 tent under a 600 watt MH. I have it as far away from the light as needed for right now. Wow I said all that. Ok I'll go rest my neck for awhile. Hope alls doing good out there. Oh BTW IGG got worried about posting his grows so he just made a move to the country and wants to keep it 'Off the Grid'. Can't blame him tho. New York has alot of things going on out there. Stop Frisk and all. He wishes all the best. Well for now I'm otta here. Keepem Green
I totally relate!! I spent last night fighting an 8 ft Big Bud in a downpour. Breakage, tipping.... THE WORKS. What a crappy night. Made a late run to buy women's panty hose(my fave branch ties)

Public Service Announcement: If growing Big Bud outdoors, tie that girl up early or face disappointment.

Looking great as always. Your journal is always one of my favorites. Both for the bud porn and the great info. I'd never thought about what you said as far as tap roots and seeded plants vs. clones and lateral rooting... But I've seen what you mean in action now that I'm working more with clones.

I have to say, clones are great and produce, but I like growing from seed - mostly because I like the shape/structure of seeded plants so much. Clones that were tops from seed plants grow with really nice structure still, but no taproot as you mention.

Ok, now go enjoy some of that OG you harvested. :thumb:

Hey Sprout! Man, you should ask GMT1975A about Moby Dick.
He turned me on to it. I member the first time he tried it he had to go lay down!
:cheertwo:

Moby Dick is still one of my favs. I have a Moby Dick #2 growing, hope she is as impressive. So far she is outgrowing the others. If I am correct, Moby #1 is Haze x White Widow, where Moby #2 is Haze x Northern Lights. It should be interesting! I believe the breeder suggested a week of dark with no watering before harvest. I went with 4 days no light/no watering. Buds swelled nicely. Good producer indoors as well, easy to grow and maintain. We introduced west MI to Moby Dick and it was a sensational hit with folks. I hear talk of a new west MI genetics called "Genesis". Hope to get my hands on some as well.

Yea I know I need to Jandre, but I just used the last material I had on Yumbolt-47.
Y-477.JPG
Man that plant is going crazy She's a wirery plant. I mean shes going to snap sure as shit with all the branches shes got.
The Berkley Blue, well I topped her at first true leaves, and the first branch split is like 2" above ground making it a very likely spot for a split. But the nice thing about her is shes strong. Cept that main split I'm not really worried bout her. I've already tied her with a sheet. I even had to set her with a pole to hold her straight. Seems to be working ok for now. I have some lightwieght green plastic screen if needed. It's the kind of screen ya use to keep birds out of your garden. Real cheap stuff. I was going to use it in my Scrog attempt. The BB is a pretty colored palnt for sure;

Ok fast update. Cripits out back, Small buds just starting to show sparkle;
Cripit_2_7.JPG

And;
Cripit18.JPG

Ok I got a shot of the P-91 I got out back. She's real small. But it's 'suppose to be the elite pain killer. Shes 100% Indica for sure;
P-9110.JPG

I also have a OG Kush going outside. Man I like this weed. I've put up 6 jars out of 3 indoor plants. $ oz's per and rock sloid tasty nuggets;

I got acouple shots of the Speonik#1. Shes better than 6' tall. I left her untopped trying for a nice main cola with this one. She didn't make a good stalk on her. I guess she maxed out at 6 foot;

Yea I'm going to try it. 'Moby Dick' but first I'm going to let my seed vendor the chance to right their wrong. If they don't I'll have to order it Pop's. But I will grrow it yet............... I feel sorry for ya there Pierce. I've had to brave the weather more than once to tie a plant back togather. I'll tell ya what works great is any old stockings. They stretch great and cover alot of area the make a softer tie with. Thanks everyone for dropping in and peeking. I'll update again soon thanks and Keepem Green

Bummer I found acouple Caterpillers on that Star-47 I brang in from outside. They are them little green with the silver stripes along the sides of them. Man they are hard to see. Usally they are few enough just acouple good looking over and you spot most of them. So when you see that pretty little white butterflies flying around your gardens shoot them. Put a bounty out on the bastards. Loupers, bud worms, or cabbage worms. I rememeber once back in Cali I had this beautiful 5 footer well into bloom, fact bout done, but I had to take it outside to finish for some reason. Well I had a new home and it didn't really have much cover to kind of hide it. Well I had a corner that had some evergreen bushes on the other side so I stuck her in that corner. Least it offered some cover. Well I had to do something that kind of kept my mind off her for acouple days. When I did look at her closer, she had bag worms starting to make a big ass cocoon over her. I did salvage afew of the buds. But alot did get watsed with worms.
Sorry Alaska, I stay away from them contests completely. Is some pretty buds is there. I'm always partial to lemon. I mean my remembrance of good pot even back to my younger days was Lemon or Skunk. And that bud of SLH looks like it should taste as good as it looks. Jandre's is sick with crystals nice shot there Jandre. Chernobyl wow. Looks like some Sour Cream I grew afew times. Huge flowers oon her. Alot of pretty flowers in there. Well that's it for me for a minute. Hope alls good and green and Keepem Green

hey Wood!!!!
Those plants just got you some rep points my friend :thumb:
most excellent looking plants and picture you have. Very impressive.

Oh yeah, make sure to vote this month on NOTM, POTM and MOTM
Jandre and X have some impressive nugs!

HEy Thanks for the props man! It's been fun watching it go back and forth between Xlr8's and my nugs.

Well seems I got them. I know hrvest comes I'll find acouple but they are gone. Ended up with 12 caterpillers off her. This is what they look like;
Trichoplusia_ni.jpg

Ugly little guys. Looks like I got most all of them. Today I found one. And that looks like all I can find. Thats one thing about growing outside is the pests. Spider Mites never seem to be a problem. Not sure but rain and wind and natural enamies keep them in check. But when you harvest there is always acouple caterpillers I miss that bail out off the plant when they dry.
Jandre, hopefully you will be able to use that beautiful Cali grow season outdoors soon. You do have some great weather there. Sad thing is security outside. People always ripping off outdoor grows. Well now adays inside isn't all that safe anymore either. Hey if Alaska ever decides to make that trip, if I happen to have anything you are intersted in, yell at Alaska afew weeks prior, and I cut acouple extra's. Maybe we can trade some genetics. You see what I have more or less.
Well I'm hopeing for a little upgade later this month. My birthing day is comeing up and Miss J wanted to know what I wanted. Something for the grow, imagine that. Master Blaster. Galaxy Electronic Ballasts | Sunlight Supply, Inc. - Indoor Gardening Supplies, Grow Lights, Hydroponics, and Lighting
206,000 lumms. Now that's gettting as close to the sun as I'm worried about. I'm going to start with just one and leave the 1000 watter in the other. Least that way when I onley have afew smaller plants growing, I can turn off one light and still have planty for that side of the room. This last summer I had to take out one 1000 bulb and run a 600 instead. That brang temps down acouple degrees. Well I'll try to get a update again in afew days. Everything is growing great. I guess me and Miss J are going back to try our luck at the coast again this week. The Casino's compt us rooms for the month. Might as well use it once more. Keepem Green

Yup I have the same problem, Had those things establish a castle in my whole first grow, had to harvest early. Now using SNS-209 systemic insecticide on my second grow, and i have found atleast 5(basically its not really working), However the phenotype of these things changes greatly. Even though they poop a lot. They younger, whiter ones, with black heads are pretty bad. They love to shit all over everything, and tunnel their way into each beautiful bud.

It's definitely the bummer about outdoor growing, these are hands down the worst pest to possibly have. And one thing I've learned so far after finding atleast 50 caterpillars ( the small ones are hard to find ), is that the second you think your bud is clean, they're still in there chillen. I had to expose the buds to the sun, and the immense heat made them all run out, and then if theres any stragglers they will be deprived of oxygen when placed into the jar, so they could be seen coming up the sides of the jar looking for a way to escape.

As the pot drys Relaxed, they'll drop out. Hang your buds after you trim and any left overs, crawl out as the plant material isn't fit for food anymore so they look for 'greener' pastures. There is a product called Spinosad I think is how it's spelled. Suppose to kill them worms on contact. I always find afew but that butterfly must have been loaded with eggs. They usually onley lay like 4-5 eggs on a branch that way least 1 worm getting enough food. Then they go to another and then another. Back when my mind was still willing to learn things I studied Butterflies and Moths. Had a collection from arond the world. Man sure are some pretty moths.
Hey Pop's does the Old Lady know your out doing drive byes?
Well awhile back I tried that old Bubba Kush pollen on my Special Queen. Tonight I went caterpiller hunting, only found one, and decided to look at the flower I pollenated. You could feel seed inside the bud. Well I picked one out of the smallest bud and low and behold, perfect seed. Plant still has like 5 days to go before harvest so they should be even riper. So Special Bubba 98 is born also. While talking about seed, I just put my last 4 BC Sweet Tooth seeds on the cable box. 'Got tired of waiting for my new stock' I'm thinking some
Swt Tooth pollen might be perfect to up the yield on the Cripit. Cripit's typical indica with a smaller yield. She's fast, and the BC Sweet Tooth is just as fast. Both are suppose to have a good quaility also. Who knows might make for some intresting phenos. The Cripit's I'm flowering now didn't get any of my regular topping program. I have one sister, of the 8 I have in there, that I just now put into flower. I did some heavy topping on her tho. She got a extra gallon of soil and I'll tell ya, that extra 3 weeks of veg time and topping sure makes for a nice plant. I'll update her soon. I was going to keep her for a mother, but I ended up cutting like 5 clones off her and threw her in flower with her sisters. Well it's getting late and I 'might' be able to sleep so I'll check out for a minute and hopefully I'll get a pic or two of something worth posting tomarrow till then Keepem Green
