Osmocote Plus Plant Food: Discuss Its Use With Cannabis Here!

Thank you i will try some epsom salt... Should i make a foiler spray?

I have always just added it to the water or nutes.

HH I see ur still the top dog when it comes to knowledgable answers. How's it goin? Fatdoobie, ur in good hands! P.S. Give my regards to paw-paw

Thanks for the compliment ak. I am far from top dog. I just answered because I don't see a lot of interest in this journal any more and I figure I'd toss my 2 cents in. And since they stopped making OC+, this journal might.....die..........a..........slow...............death.:rip:

Yet still be a wealth of knowledge for other CRF's

And I'm not sure what you mean about paw-paw. I don't know the man other than seeing him in here.

No problem ak.

And I am glad to try and answer any question I am asked.

I sure have learned a lot from the shared experiences of all the great growers on here. And if I can pass on a few words of advice from my experiences and my opinion on things, I am glad to give back as it what was given to me.

Since they have discontinued OC+.

If anyone wants the ease of OC+, my suggestion would be to mix some powdered organics in to the soil like Happy Frog, Epsoma or Dr Earth. Mix it in the soil just like you would OC+. Water, top dress if needed and maybe water with a tea on occasion. I have used them all with good results.

All organic and just about as easy as OC+.

I have some OC+ saved for another attempt at hempy some day.

Hi I just ordered the product on amazon.
It will arrive next week, I have couple of opsticles considiring I am growing outside and its off season.
Although the cold wont be a problem and im recieving 10 and a half hours of daylight so well see.
I will update on my results i see overall this product is good just some have other personal choice.
I dont want to invest to much considiring i might not see results so this product atleast saved money.

I only have one plant so lets seeeeee

I think 10.5 hrs might be the problem.

I put some clones outside 2 years ago when we had a very early mild spring and just under 14 hrs daylight and they started budding within 2 weeks. They then changed back to veg after about a month. Then in another month I was ripped off. grrrrr

I suggest vegging it indoors longer if possible.

Out by March 1, finished by May 1. Light schedule works. Temps ain't been friendly though.

Back on topic. Is Osmocote plus really gone? Or is it really just being changed? Looks like a new 6 month formula if I'm not mistaken. Of course they discontinued it... I just found out how well it works for mini-moms. If you don't bloom in the summer and want a simple way to keep your mums in "stasis". Osmocote+ in promix hp makes for a true "water only" system. Just keep taking cuttings (so she doesn't reach the light) almost too easy.

I was in Wal's world an hour ago, and OC+ is on the shelves again.

I saw a bottle of it at Wally too. I thought this stuff had calcium in it ? It was not listed on the label.

Reading this has me thinking... (Almost always dangerous). Researching using osmocote as a stand alone base leads to several mentions of the much dreaded "fert taste", and or buzz interference (headache etc.) I don't think anyone in this thread mentions any fert taste. So now I'm wondering; how long successful control release grows have ran before harvest? Would it be practical to time it to run out of fert near harvest? Then finishing with some tea?

Thought from anyone that's harvested any CRF? Any opinion on a CRF that would be suited to say 12 weeks? 16 weeks? (Assuming typical room temps of around 65-70f night and 75-82f day.) I realize there are too many variables to really pin down a specific time to run out. But I can see where it could be a beautifully simple way to finish clean. Am I over thinking this (as usual)?

I've used it in the past on mothers, but never for flowering.

I looked at it again and calcium is not listed. Their other ferts have calcium phosphate listed on the label.

Doc Bud ran a journal using OC+ and talked about the rate that the prills release ferts. Watering, of course, promotes release, but also higher temps will. So, yes, it'd be a little difficult dialing it in, but after a run or two, I bet a guy could be pretty sure how long it'd last under his conditions.

The main thing about OC+ is how easy it is. If a guy wants the very best flavor, taste and high, he's probably better off going with some form of organic soil.

i checked locally and also found some plus that did not list calcium
not sure if thats just some in between formula and the newest stuff has cal
i will be watching
