Osmocote Plus Plant Food: Discuss Its Use With Cannabis Here!

I realize it's not fair to compare different strains and different age plants, but all were switched to 12/12 the same day.

All were fed the same.

Here are a few shots of the organic non OC+ buds

OC+ is tough to beat.

I am continuing my experiment with OC+ and other CRF's in my vegetable garden. This is all in reused soil, I added a tablespoon per gallon of DM blue and a tablespoon of powdered alfalfa per gallon and put tomatos and peppers in 3 gallon containers set up as a wick system in 5 gallon buckets. The tomatoes look great but the Cowhorn peppers have some issues with new growth, small twisted leaves. I flushed lightly but it could be they don't like the wick system itself. Then again the other types of peppers are doing fine. I also have strawberries going and they are doing great. These plants are all outdoors so we will see.

Critical+ is in 8th wk flwr

When I take it out of the flower room to inspect, the weight of the buds makes the branches fall over.

There are 10 colas the way I pinched her.
I pinched between the 4th and 5th node. then the top 2 got pinched again.

Picked 2 of the lowest colas today for some smoke since smoke stash is critical condition. (pun intended). Should be ready to pick all by next weekend.

Here are a few pics from the organics I am comparing to the OC+ Critical+

Green Poison 8th wk flwr, almost a hash like buzz from the tester. relaxed the body and lets the mind wander.

Here are a few of the Cream Carmel which looks nothing like the last CC we grew. I hope its as good as the last one. Test bud almost there.

CQ2. 2 plants in one pot, figured the odds would be one m one f. Both turned out fem. 2 distinctly differnet looking plants. One looks more like the last Cream and one looks like nothing I've ever seen, and since I never got to see a female Querkle, I'm thinking shes leaning that way.

these ones look more like the Cream

these I have no clue. It was topped late. the buds are big as a golf ball

comparison grow is almost done.

so far both methods have turned out some great plants. both the OC+ and boxed organics are simple and good for the novice or experienced grower. add some minerals and teas and violla! dank buds. TY Docbud :Namaste:

test buds of everything i am growing are very impressive.

here is some organic bud porn, still have a bit to go, but i'm thinking days not weeks.

the least mature trichome wise is the Green Poison. go figure, the breeder says early finisher at 7 weeks.
some amber showing, the tris are getting cloudy, but not milky.

the Cream Carmel is about 60% milky and also a few ambers. all the plants had more amber than any other strains i have grown. i would have picked her today, but i picked the Critical+ that was hogging up all the space, so i let the other plants spread their wings a little and suck up a few more days of light to some of the lower stuff.

and of course the OC+ Critical+ gets her own post. after all it is an OC+ thread.

enjoy

these buds are almost the size of a pear

Hash Hound, they look amazing! What lights do you use? Whats your' secret to those GIANT buds!

Thanks for posting

TY NCDude.

following DOCtors orders, and research read research read, and a little experimentation.

i'll recap what has been posted earlier. it was sort of a comparison. with different strains and vege times it wasn't a very good one, it was also to have at least one sure healthy plant by using OC+ while experimenting with organics.

along the way i learned to hit the Brix and "kick it up a notch"

600w HPS, digital greenhouse ballast. home made vented hood.

4 gallon pots with mostly Promix Organic soil with a little Magikmoss mixed in. (i have some Dr Earth Pot of Gold in the on deck circle.)

Critical+ had 4 tbsp OC+ and 2 tbsp Dynamite Red, azomite and gypsum.

other plants all had same soil, FoxFarm Tomato, Dr Earth Bud and Bloom, azomite, gypsum,

all were topped dressed with worm castings and soft rock phosphate as i read and listened and learned.

fed with a non-brewed tea of Stump Tea, Molasses, Snowstorm Ultra. occasionally mixing in individually or combined doses of worm castings, srp, DrE BnB. I am hoping to brew some real tea next grow.

and of course the OC+ Critical+ gets her own post. after all it is an OC+ thread.

What's a good bloom enhancer to use with Osmocote? I use BadBoy T5's, and some LED's. I've been using Hydroplex, but thought I might like to experiment with something else.

So, whats out there? What do you use?

Thanks

NCDude

a few grows back I used OC+ with Molasses and Snowstorm Ultra, and Humboldt Gianormous and turned out great bud.

the last grow shown above, I used OC+ on only one plant, Ctitical+, and it got watered with Molasses, Snowstorm Ultra, StumpTea, and alternated weekly doses of Worm Castings, or Dr Earth Bud and Bloom organic, or both. A few minerals were added along the way. The pics above speak for them selves.

The few people with the privilege of getting turned on to it say it's the best stuff they have smoked in a long time. And some say the best they ever smoked.

I think anything you add and not over doing it, will work out good.

You should definitely consider using a good tea with the OC+ and tossing in some minerals as recommended by Doc. You gotta check out his current journal growing using high Brix.

its all over but the smoking!

well if you have been following along on the OC+ comparison to the boxed organics, I think I have to give the edge to the OC+ for a more consistently healthy plant. The Organics seemed to suffer a little early in flower, then after the top dress of worm casting and bud and bloom organics, teas and soft rock phosphate, they all seemed to get a more healthy appearance.

Both are tasty for pot that has only been dry for a week or two, but I'll give the edge to the organics there.

Either way you go, load the soil, mineralize, foliar, and a spot'of tea, and you'll be a happy grower.

It was a shame to trim these plants. I left a little more leaf then usual there was so much frost.

I hope one day to do a more precise grow using OC+ compared to organics, but with all the same strain to see if either out preforms the other by a wide margin or both equally good as this grow was.

2 hits of anything from this batch lasts a loooong time.

some tasty bud porn for you

Sweet Seeds - Cream Carmel, very solid buds, nice and mellow and relaxing
Cream_Carmel_bud_dry_2.jpg

Sweet Seeds - Green Poison, also very relaxing with a little more stone to it, tastes like a grape candy and it's not even cured yet
Green_Poison_bud_dry_3.jpg

Dinafem - Critical+, a little more airy buds, I thought by her size she would have yielded 8oz, but she was only 5. Nice fluffy great to roll buds. Airy but doesn't burn fast.

Well, another happy OC+ grower! What an amazing product....less than 5 bucks a grow. And what a great jog HH!!!!

How that you've tasted premium weed, it's only a matter of time till you are High Brix. I have a sneaky feeling that OC+ might just play a critical role in maintaining soil energy with High Brix grows in small containers.

Tremendous job!

Next grow is under way. I may start a journal in a few days.

The only use of OC+ this grow is a tbsp sprinkled around the root ball at transplant. Otherwise it is a boxed organics grow with minerals and fed with instant tea. Brewed teas will be used eventually.

However a different sort of comparison will be ongoing this summer with my zucchini plants in buckets.

One has 4 tbsp OC+ and one has 4 tbsp Dynamite Red. It is tough to grow zucchini in buckets, but my neighbors new fence shades my garden now so until I make a new bed, the veggies will be in buckets. I will keep the posts on that at a minimum since it isn't mj related. Maybe a mid summer pic or two and an end of season grow report.

I love my OC+. Just started a cut of Orange Bud and one of Cali Kush in flowering now, just supplemented with a tea I made from 'Dr. Smiths Bud and Bloom' - lots of herding creatures to add to the coir :).
