Osmocote Plus Plant Food: Discuss Its Use With Cannabis Here!

aka,

re the pics; open them in windows photo viewer and click on the rotate button, that should take care of it.

Most other photo programs have a similar function.

OC+ still working wonders here. Check out my recent journal in my signature.

We harvested the Afrodite last week and it is dry enough to smoke as of yesterday. Flushed one week before the chop. Burns great, leaves a nice clean ash. Sticky and stinky. IT KICKS A**. Was surprised at the quality of the strain. Loaded with seeds pollinated by a male Querkle. To bad I did such a poor job, pollen went everywhere I guess. Can't wait to grow a few of them out.

Wicked eagle-clawing. Too much nitrogen? Or is that a general characteristic of the strain?
The first 3 wks I gave her a hi nitro guano tea, once I realized the clawing I stopped. It's just bagseed, I've no idea about the strain. The lower branching aren't suffering with that just the upper and newer branches. As long as it doesn't affect the end result I'm not gonna worry to much. Just hope the clawing isn't causing some kind of nutrient lockout. And if it is the nitro then how would I counter that?

aka, you have to have some sort of pic viewer and all of them let you rotate a pic. Online you can download googles picassa, or adobe photoshop both are good. There are a few online places to fix a photo, but im not on my main computer that has all my sites saved.

All versions of windows have a default pic viewer. Older versions are called windows picture and fax viewer. It is the default program windows uses when no other photo software is installed. On the bottom are buttons to rotate.

If you cant find it, here's how. right mouse on the pic and choose open with, choose the windows viewer. Look for a check box that says use this program to open all files like this. Check it or not, your choice.

prolly too much heat. oc dumps N when the temps get high. dynamite red is a better choice under high heat conditions. DM dumps N too, just not as quickly.

the heat isn't the problem paw-paw, the lights off temp is 75 and the lights on are between 79 and 81 degrees. I thought that it might be the hi nitro fert I gave it to induce a female. I've since stopped the nitro but still getting claws. They aren't dying so I'm happy with that.Other than that I have no idea whats goin on. Like TorturedSoul says maybe it's a characteristic of the strain but it's bagseed so go figure.

Maybe, and I don't think you have to worry too much, but just keep in mind, although your temps are fine for growing cannabis, Scotts lists the ideal media temps between 50—70 degrees F for OC+, the "feeds up to 6 months" claim is more towards the 50 degree range. The data sheet lists the following longevity rates:

60F - 4 to 5 months
70F - 3 to 4 months
80F - 2 to 3 months
90F - 1 to 2 months

This means at 80 degrees you are releasing the same amount of nutrients in 2/3 to 3/4 the time it takes at 70 degrees.

Some strains are more sensitive than others.

:Namaste:

yeah, i'm using oc+ now that the temperature has dropped & i can keep the room below 72* w/no problems. i decided to see just how poor a soil i could use & mixed 50% top soil, 20% perlite & 30% horse bedding (poorest quality i could find...few chips, mostly sawdust) & used 1 1/2x recomended oc+. i water w/well water (filtered) w/total alkalinity of 60. i'm about a month from harvest (seed run) & have had no problems & i haven't used anything extra.

One thing about using uncomposted high-carbon materials (from sawdust to bark to sphagnum) is that they always start to decompose and always therefore suck up some of your nitrogen. This is well-known to orchid growers, and they respond by using high N fert when growing in that stuff- otherwise orchids do just fine with balanced (10-10-10 or whatever) major nutrients. OTOH, you're using real soil (filled with lots of nutrients, macro and micro) and the bedding might well have some extra N anyhow (horses are known for the volume of urine- the statement "gotta piss like a racehorse" does come from somewhere!!) I'd keep this in mind and otherwise not change anything till the plants look like they need something different than you're doing.

Chow!

(I'd say "ciao" but don't speak italian!)

akaman,It's not too late to start a journal. Get one started and post a link here. I'll sub to it and help where I can. I'm sure others will too. I like your room setup. For your journal be sure to give a run down of what you have going on. Type of medium, nutes used, temps, PH of water, lights, etc. That will ensure the best help. The more people know about your grow, the better they can help diagnose any issues.

hi HH, I'm having a little problem no one seems to want to help me with, hope you will help me. Another member wanted to know where my journal was so reluctantly I started one. The problem is posting a link here to the thread, I don't know how. Please help, thx:thumb:

Copy the link to your journal (the actual webpage adress). Go to your User CP (link at top of every page). Click on the Edit Signature link on the left. Type in a descriptor for your journal (whatever you wish to call it). Highlight that text and click on the Insert Link icon and past the link to your journal into the box. Type whatever else you wish to place in your .SIG, doing other site links in the same fashion, save your .SIG, and your journal link will be visible as the text you typed to describe it in your .SIG in each post you submit. Assuming that you post at least occasionally in other threads, that will make people aware of your journal and get you more visits.

Speaking of which, I need to visit my garden tomorrow so that I can visit and update my journal. Thanks for inadvertently reminding me, lol.
