Oldsmokey Grows Blue Cheese & Blueberry With Promix

Good morning starting to have a issue with both blue cheese. Yesterday was feed day. I had to go to a BBQ so I mixed up the nutes before the lights came on and quickly watered all of them soon as the light clicked on before leaving.

When I returned and was looking them over I noticed some rusty spots on a leaf on each of the Blue Cheese.

This is What I think is going on you might remember not to Long Ago I dropped there feed to 4.5,gm/gl from 5gm because I could see a nitrogen toxicity starting. To dark of green colour downward clawing leaf tips. Classic N toxicity. After 2 feedings. At 4.5 things seemed to be improving so I increased the feed to 4.75 gm. Yesterday was the second feedings at 4..75. If I had not been in hurry to water last night I probably would of noticed the darker green creeping back in an the spotted leafs and would not of fed them the 4.75 and would of lowered it probably another.5 gm.

My take on this is K is starting being locked out also possibly a Mg defficiency from to high of N.

Blueberry#1 Ca defficiency Is slowly spreading it is on its second watering at 5.5gm I had raised itt because of the Ca defficiency I will monitor and possibly increase to 6 gm next watering. This one had used more nutes than the rest since day1. Blueberry# 2 looks good at 4.75gm. I should mention I am on a 3 day watering schedule giving them all 8 Lt and getting around 15-20% runoff.

I had a bunch of pics I took last night but I am having problems getting them to load onto the computer. I have a few that I took with my phone because I ran out of memory on The camera.

Blue Cheese#2 Both pics of same leaf about 60 % from the bottom of the plant

A couple of other possibilities. Could this be related to me not adjusting the PH level? This is a first for me. Also couple weeks ago I introduced a led light into the mix exchanging it for the 1000 watt HPS.
If anyone had any thoughts on this I would love to here them.

Happy Saturday wake and bake time:smokin:
@Emilya @InTheShed any thoughts on this?

Using MegaCrop (new version) and I have been adding CalMag the last few waterings. I get those same spots on a few leaves. I used to think it was pH fluctuation but it still happened without any pH change. I have very hard water as well that is high in sulfur, but the rust spot problem only affects certain strains. Maybe it’s the new MegaCrop/tap water, but I’m definitely having better results with some added CalMag.

I am using version 2 so less Ca & Mg than the new version. Are you using LED ?

I know I don't have the best pics can't get more till lights come on. Do you think it is a result of N toxicity?

Thanks for the input much appreciated :thumb:
No I don't, because I see no other signs associated with N toxicity... deep glossy green leaves, clawing, dramatic burning of the tips

I am, and in 2 different configurations (220 actual in one tent, 400 in the other). And the problem happens in both tents.

A couple of things:
You can search for your municipality’s tap water analysis online. Most have a website which will give a detailed analysis daily or weekly. My water has a hardness of 180 mg/L which gives about 160 calcium and 20 magnesium. I have never added supplemental hardness, but that may change under the new led lighting.

I read up on the ProMix and found it contains some coco coir. They say it is well washed, but from what I have read it can still act as an ion exchange resin absorbing calcium and magnesium and releasing sodium.

More food for thought

Hey Dusted thanks for the research I appreciate it. My city water is is around 150 now goes up as high as 180-190 mg/Lt fall and spring. Ca 55 mg/Lt average and Mg 16.1 mg/Lt average. Pretty hard water I would say. Now the water report they post here is the whole year 2019. So I am using numbers from this time last year. You might have been looking at promix hp-c which is new and does have coco. I am using promix HP witch I believe had no coco peat perlite and lime. Only time I have ever needed cal mg was white widow x big bud that thing pretty much took any nutes you threw at it very heavy feeder. Really appreciate your input :thanks:

Wow, how did I not get notifications? Oh well.

plants are looking great despite the issues old Smokey! You caught it early and have a handle on this so I have no doubt you’ll have em back on track soon. :thumb:

Thanks it seems if you miss a notification you don't get any more it's happened to me. I always like to check my subscribe threads page seems I always miss one or two.

I'm with the Ca deficiency. Is the plant a darker green on the bottom than the top or vice versa? Or is it consistent?
If it's lighter on the bottom or consistent then bump the feed up 1/2g to 1g. If it's darker on the bottom and lighter up top then add a low N% calmag such as 1% and keep the MC feed the same.

Pretty consistent top to bottom but dark green.
