I bought a bbq once. in celebration bought a bunch of meat and a ton of beer and started it up. Next day a friend came by to see my new Q. I lifted the lid there was all the meat. Cooked long past well done and deep into fossilization.

Some dude 1 street over has a circus or something. People drive into the neighborhood to go see his carny action then just leave. Ive had 1 group of kids tonight
 
This was the first year I've had kids at my house. I had 2 new neighbors the last year on my 5 house cul de sac and they have kids. Before there were none and with all the housing developments around nobody would come to our little group of homes. My rental house was in a neighborhood similar to the developments around me and it was about 300 kids non-stop for no more than an hour, then it would be done. I would just stand with the door open handing out candy.
 
We've had the front of the house dark tonight. First time in 24 years we're not out front handing out candy.

Not a single kid on the street, and usually there are hundreds. Folks drive in from other neighborhoods and drop their kids on the corner to do our area.

Thats killer. I like it when its busy.
 
First year we were here we sat in the living room and opened the door to hand out candy when the bell rang. After about 10 minutes we gave up that approach and have been sitting on the porch halloween night for the last 23 years. Maybe next year!

If you weren’t guarding the front lawn with a hoser like a gun sentry, more kids might have dared to approach you house.

Actually my wife is a Halloween freak! She has the front yard all decorated. She has a table setup to hand out candy using a long handled net to maintain social distancing. Dressed as a clown We only got 29 kids.
