Oldsmokey Goes Hydro

Good morning I woke up to a full blown CA deficiency this morning on the best looking plant. I think I may have been us underestimating the power of the LED light. I have only been giving Cal mag at half dosage and it's clearly not enough. So I used the dosage to 1ml per Lt so I am at full dosage according to the manufactor. It has raised the ppm over 1100.

There are all sorts of opinions on LEDs and there effect on Calcium/Magnesium deficiencies. Sorry to hear your plant is having issues

Take it with a grain of salt but much of the speculation I’ve read with regards to the the need to increase the cal Mag is due to the added UV spectrum. The same has been written about the CMH lights I use. Years ago I flowered under a 600w cmh conversion bulb that was high in UV and I never had enough cal Mag with that light. Still chase my tail lol.

Well I am seeing it first hand. I will post a video latter to show what I am talking about.
Still pouring on ya huh? I hope the new growth rebounds for you with the change.

You haven’t broken a mirror or walked under a ladder lately, have you?
If I didn't have bad luck I wouldn't have any luck at all!! I think the increased CA MG Will help time will tell.
Hang in there. The girls will come back
Thanks I think so to.

I wonder if lux means as much with these led's, since the spectrum is so much more specific to what we use. The PAR is probably way higher with these lights than our old hid's, even at a fixed lux intensity. I think I'm going to drive my lights at 90-95% instead of full blast just in case. I will also have a bit of overkill in my room once all my lights are up.

Day 18 Veg Update
Good morning everyone!
Just a quick video to show that ca deficiency.

hey so ...
you are not watching ppm, you are monitoring tds ( total dissolved solids ) press the button on the left to toggle thru the different values on your blue lab ....

the Problem with rdwc and res’s and trying to grow different strains is that every plant I have grown
, even same bean , same strain, planted same day , has required something different each feed ...hard to treat individual plants when they are all receiving the same food .
I would personally drain my res, refill with new nutes with the blue lab set to ppm or Ec ( NOT TDS) and watch them for a week ?

great video ! Nice room :thumb: :hippy:

Ppm is just the units for measuring TDS. Like how milliSiemens and microSiemens are the units for measuring EC or how meters and feet measure length.
I’m going to bet he is out of range ..they are much different values if he is following a food guide .

i found similar and run my 250w at about 80 -85% w the uv off on my veg at 36". At 90-100% upper canopy was a.

The button your referring to switches the scale from EC, 500ppm and 700 ppm. I am using the 500ppm scale I am feeding per manufacturer's recamendations ml per Lt. I also know what each level measures on the 500ppm scale. There recamendations is 3 ml per liter each part for seedlings and 5ml for full growth I am at 4 ml. Keep in mind my tap water is 180ppm.

nope not that one there is a button that toggles between the different measurements
I have never seen a feed chart for tds and my experience is limited, so you be you ! :green_heart:
but
I know ppm/ Ec is easier to monitor if you are utilizing The bible , or feed guide
do you see the dot at the top of your monitor on the left ..those switches toggle between the 3 different measurements blue lab can monitor
