OldMedMan's Super Lemon Haze Collective Grow

A little up date on my Super Lemon Haze

As you can see I topped her, so she now has two tops. ;)

And a look down at the tops.;)

She is looking better every day and finally filling in.

Well I was doing the math...it has been two weeks in bloom for my SLH and buds have not started yet, that phase usually lasts at least two weeks. So if tonight was her first night of throwing bud in stretch...she will be a 10 week girl...I fear with her obvious giantor tendencies and I guess you would call her Sativa leaves she might end up being a long bloomer. If she buds up nice I don't really mind, but she sure will throw off my perpetual schedule.

I forgot to post this pic here (put it in my journal) two nights ago, I supercropped her to slow her immense stretch, was going about 2 inches a night.

Here is my SLH on day 12 of 12/12, If you look close you can see she is a girl now.

She had that repaired by the next morning.

:peace:

Edit : Adding pictures of my two SLH clones that are established finally and should start growing anytime.

Hi High That girl of yours is sure not listening to you.:smokin2:
She just keeps growing.:blunt:
We should trade...I want big and you want smaller.
Well, ya just can't tell about sativas. She might finish on time, most of my sativas finished when they should have and they had rock hard buds.
Time will tell. I hope she doesn't knock you off schedule. ;)

well, another day down, and last night she was still standing....i think she likes the heat....and her leaves got alot bigger once i topped her, but then she was soooo small that big is kinda realative....i just wish her stem would bulk up....watched pot never boils tho...today is good heat wise....
and tell that wise acre fanny that im friends with the red queen, and shes friends with your local natives, and my fav. saying is off with her body...not just her head....lol...L

Sweetness, NO not you U.J. the plant. lol:peace:

Sweet 2 u2!:grinjoint:
:tokin: Even this buzzed (or maybe especially), I can sense someone even more stoned than me and I sense another object...a...a...a soldering iron. :Hookah:

I sense a trip to another time, another space...completely stoned on the fumes of plastic you trip into the twilight zone. :rasta:

I am so gonna do that when I can afford to smoke that much....:blunt:.

:goodjob: Sisco.

Well, I smoked and inhaled enough plastic to get all of the 420 gang lifted, I did a bigger pot the next day...so now I have a 1.5 and a 2.5 gallon air pot!

Hey is that you looking in at my window? lol
Man, sisco, you did it! :yahoo:

Pack, and I mean pack that puppy with soil and Perlite Place it on something that will let the roots come out of the bottom and your in business.
I didn't know you could shoot with a soldering Iron! That thing will actually work! :ganjamon::ganjamon:

Hey Omm, you say pack it tight? is that gonna let the plants roots breath? I always put my soil in and tap it once on the counter before adding water and then I put my plant in and more soil and lightly water last. So air pots you have to pack tight?:reading420magazine:

Hi lavendar :grinjoint:
I know what you mean about relative size. She will do OK now and I know you have fans on her to get that stem thickened up. She will put on a growth push anytime now. :ganjamon:

Oh! No! The Red Queen :smokin2::smokin2: I would tell her but she is frozen in place.....:bongrip:
kind of like remove the whole body......it may happen soon....I keep thinking of all the different strains I could replace her with. Even another WW, but from a different seed bank. :ganjamon:

Hi Buddy Yep, pack em tight. When I replant into an airpot, I pack it tight, bottom and sides, then put the plant in and only water and maybe super thrive or B-1 to get the roots going just where the plant meets the new soil . Just to let it look for more soil. Once she takes, then regular watering. They go through water a bit faster than a normal pot.

Here is the thing about AirPots that folks don't understand. The air is passed through the soil and AIR automatically prunes the roots. It keeps the roots happy. Also the roots grow outward horizontally and not so much down, even the tap root doesn't go too deep in an airpot until the plant develops to maturity. As it grows you will see the roots come to the side holes and die, which is normal. Got all that? :yahoo:

just a thought omm, but have you cked her roots? might find a culprit there...if she is just not growing sometimes i ck the roots....and have found its like they have very few, the ball got too wet and they rotted, or they are totally regrowing a new system....then you say go plant, and let them try....we have seen both really....hubby is really into peeking at the roots when we harvest them...we reuse dirt in the outdoor garden....and the ones that do the best, have the best roots, i also now use a root stimulant, with all the beneficials, and i have noticed a diff....enough to make me take time to do it....so ck that before you do axe her....yes, i know exactly what you mean....so many plants that would grow and so much better, my time to baby is usually a month, then ck roots, then decide....if shes in one of those air pots, i would think it would be a little ez er to ck than reg. pot....L

As far as packing the dirt...I pack mine when I repot. I only gently pack it after I put the transplant in, but when I am getting the pot ready for her to drop in I pack it real well. When I water I end up with less spill through...can always tell how good a job I did by how much water she holds before it spills out into her tray. If it comes out right away, no way will I be giving her enough and she will suffer from underwatering...or that is what I do anyway for right or wrong. I have read the hair root arguement about hard packed soil and not sure what I think about it, I actually do not think with my added perlite, that my soil can pack too tight, but sure would like to know what the guru's think....good news is there is no packing hempy...all you would do is crush the perlite...:)

And yeah I figured you would have to pack those airpots to keep the dirt in it...ever done the experiment of figuring out how much dirt they hold?

I must tell you my stoner moment...I was spacing and in my head I seen the monster of outside pots...a 55 gallon drum full of perlite with a hole punched halfway up....super outdoor hempy...SLH would become a tree in that thing...12+ feet I bet and if it stays healthy should get there quick with hempy growth rates...RoorRip

Well I thought I would show you guys my problem child...she is on the ground already with only a couple feet to go before I have to tie her sideways...and she is not spitting bud at any rate yet at day 15...umm I think this girl is gonna throw that 9-10 week budding time out the window....She is in FFOF and I am using Osmocote + as her primary fert. She has gotten one other liquid fert at half strength and will get another in a week or so when she throws bud.

Bertha on day 15 of 12/12. Check out those insane leaves...:rollit:
7-13_SLH.jpg

Here you can see how after I let her LST go she just mostly straightened it out and went into vertical boogie mode...LST got her revved up I guess or she is just a monster. If she is good smoke I will make this a permanent member of my garden. Just have to figure out how best to grow her.

:peace:

Nice post MH :ganjamon:,
now i am no guru but i just let a good flush of water pack the soil down, to me packed tight means little air to the roots, maybe stunted growth due to the roots having a hard time penetrating the soil but im here to learn so i would like more thoughts on this.

Thank You Lavendar I will check them today, I'll just unroll her. :ganjamon:

Hey Aloha High!

And yeah I figured you would have to pack those airpots to keep the dirt in it...ever done the experiment of figuring out how much dirt they hold?

By the 4th hand full of dirt just thrown in is good enough to stop soil loss. It stays in. The real reason to pack em is to make sure all the air holes have soil in them. The roots have no problem going through the packed soil, contrary to popular belief. The first set of roots grow directly under the soil top to the holes on the side. Think horizontal roots, not downward roots. On my last grow, no tap root went farther down than 2/3 s of the depth of the pots.

I probably shouldn't say this now because my Brain is amusing itself self with Kandy Kush.

But here goes. I really am an old fart and have aches and pains just moving around. My feet hurt, my hips hurt. My butt hurts forever. Lifting an air pot full of soil is a monumental task for me. Hell the boards they set on was an afternoon task for me. So I'm kinda saying I just can't do more than I am. It's battle, but I think growing keeps me active and some what healthy. Sorry High, there no way I want measure the real soil capacity of the pots.
I really am the OMM! Probably why I like couchlock so much, kills allot of pain.

End of health rant:ganjamon:

I kinda answered that in my heath rant. read back one post. .:ganjamon:

in our house we have two diff. styles....i pk the sides and bottom of the pot and pull the roots out and fluff them up, put root beneficials in, put plant in, and finish filling with dirt....then bounce alot of times to make sure no air gaps around roots....then refill with more dirt, and just really snug that down...

hubby is a mammoth killer, he fluffs the roots, but is much more brutal about it....the sound of wog, radiates in the room....it goes along with my grimmace and ahhhh, and boy i'll bet she lost a finger on that one...to which he gives me "the look", then he puts the plant in and "firmly" packs it again....to which i try to stare at the plant im doing and whisper "please tell your friend he didnt mean it"....but his dont die either and seem to suffer no ill effects, so now i keep my comments to myself as he seems to know what hes doing, just a different style....L

i think two chefs can work in the same kitchen as long as they respect the differences in each other....
