OldMedMan's First Grow Couchlock 2009

Yeah, Riverworld was a great book, I really enjoyed Heinlein's "Number of the Beast", kinda follows a similar fantasy line, but you just fall in love with the character's. After I started reading in my 20's I was voracious and the public library is awesome. I should of been absorbing the classics but the stuff I read was much more enjoyable. :smokin:

I liked horror novels too. Like "In the dark" by OMM, a story about a girl seeking immortality and it being denied by a loving father who secretly wants to just prepare her for the inevitability of death and dismemberment. In later chapters, the plot takes a twist as the dead girl rises from the ashes in a cloud of smoke to take the father on a journey of discovery and adventure deeper into the land of "Couch"....RoorRip

Just smoked a taste of my Frost Lotus (bagseed). :smokin2:

:peace: from the mountains.

Yea High I'm with you on the books. All through prep school I raided the library. When in Nam and Thailand I read over 4 hundred books.

When I was going to college at Napa, Cali I got a job at the college library and it was heaven. :grinjoint:

I haven't finished "In the Dark" by OMM yet, it's a continuous story, I believe it's almost finished.

Frost Lotus sounds great:grinjoint:

Thank you my friend.:grinjoint:
Picture to follow.

Day 128 of Bloom

Well here she is after 3 days of darkness:grinjoint:

jo8.JPG

Sorry for no other pics......still haven't mastered the camera.:smokin2:
My bad eyes can't see the screen or settings,:smokin2:

That's a problem for another day.

I checked her trichs and there were "some" more amber trichs. Tomorrow will be her last and total flush. From then on it will be dry her out time. She'll probably take forever to do that too.:ganjamon:

hey OMM she looks a lot...the same, heheh. Stubborn one she is.

You might have to treat her with ethylene gas to help her finish. lol or a hatchet.

I hope life is treating you well to make up for joannes reluctance.

Weren't film cameras simple?

Are you planning to give her more dark time when you've got her dried out?

Mmmmick She is the same:rofl: Threat's have no effect on her.:grinjoint:
I'll probably remember this planet forever.:smokin2:
Life's good Buddy, same wish for you.

You know, I don't know if I will do that, but maybe. When she dries out she looks dead already....maybe 2 days of darkness...what do you think?

Yes film cameras are fun. I have to bags of old Nikon SLRs.......just don't like to wait for them to develop;)

G'day mate, I've been stirring the pot a bit in the ole MOM thread. I love it here at 420mag bro. I'm glad it hasn't been taken the wrong way (so far:rofl:)
Leaves on the old girl are yellowing a little more by the look of it. Signs she's getting a bit closer.:grinjoint::peace:

High there young groover Young compared to me anyway:rofl:

I better go see what your up to in MOM. :peace:

I was lazy and didn't clean the yellow leaves off this time. She's been sucking the juice out of the leaves for months. Not that it helps her:smokin2:

The ethylene is a wildcard in my opinion, maybe make things look ripe but it's forced.
I would give her a couple of days darkness before chopping, it seems widely accepted to be beneficial.

I've got some Canon film gear that hasn't been out of the bag in a few years. The lenses can be used with an adapter on the new cam I bought so thats a bonus. I got tired of waiting for the prints to come back so I switched to slides a long time ago and started developing my own. It was quick, simple and relatively inexpensive and processing could be pushed without extra cost.

She's looking her usual proud pretty self.

I was just looking at that pic and thinking about the timeframe. I wonder if she is root bound. I would not be surprised a bit if there is a clump of unused soil in there and a very tight roots elsewhere. You could try cutting the bottom out of the planter and throw it in a bigger pot.

:peace:

damm thats one stuburn plant you got there. She just don't want to give up dose she.

Hi Dain She something alright. Just wont give it up. Today she has a few more amber trichs, so I'll probably go a little longer with her. Her sister gave me some really good smoke, so I really want to give her every chance to finish. After all this time, I hate to give up on her. :peace:

Hello my friend Mmmmick That's great that you can use your old lens on your new camera. It's what I was hoping for with Nikon, but my stuff is too old. I did a bit of developing myself, but ended up to lazy to continue .

You know, I just hate to not to let this girl go on a bit more. Guess the story will continue......

I know giving her darkness at the every end is the way to go so I'll probably do it. Thanks Buddy. :peace:

Hi Papa I could almost guarantee she's root bound. She's been replanted 3 times and her root ball is tight as a baseball. Last time I re-potted her, I took a very sharp knife and cut 5 vertical 1" deep slices to help her reach the new soil. Pretty sure it didn't work. The two that I have harvested, which were the same way, had not used any of the new soil after the last transplant. In fact I don't really believe she lets in much water to the root ball. If fact explaining it to you has given me an idea. I think before I water her today I'll try to punch a few holes in that root ball and see what happens. At this stage I don't think I could hurt her. We'll see.
Thanks for the idea. :grinjoint:

Hi OMM
I lose all the more advanced features of course, but I gain the 1.6x focal length multiplier. :smokin2:
I suspect you have some great glass in the older mounts, shame you can't use them.
I've never done any printing and now that I might have the time, I can think of a better way to use a dark space.:grinjoint:

I don't blame you in the least OMM, if you don't have a stash issue why hurry? Wait for the color you want. Tough choice when you've got others waiting to go. They must be getting a little anxious to strut their stuff.
I'm sure you've considered a staggered start and have your own reasons for holding back. I admire your patience, my friend, it will result in a better finish.:nicethread:

re finishing dark- yeah, I often point out the obvious when i ramble, lol I'm oblivious at times, lol, feel free to ignore any comment at any time.:grinjoint::grinjoint::grinjoint:

Mmmmick ramble all you want Buddy I find answers sometimes just thinking out loud. So go to it. That's half the fun of 420.:grinjoint:

At least you can use your lenses in some fashion and they will help your pictures. You have a good idea in using that extra darkness.
Yea, when I was buying all the Nikon stuff, I was bring in about 4 times what I do now. Don't retire!:smokin2:

I do have a stash to hold me, so on we go. ;)

I can use this time to veg the new stuff I'm starting and that will help me to do what I want to on the next grow. I'm going to try some new things and a new for me, way of growing. I do think it's new for 420 and should be fun.
I don't want to reveal anything yet. Surprise factor. He He. I sure hope it works out to be positive. Life's a gamble. :peace::peace:

Glad you at least got a few more amber's from her. Getting there, slowly but surly, great job

Don't make us wait too long, I might need to steal,,, I mean borrow, an idea or two, heheh. I was wondering why we hadn't seen your next round of plants yet.
