Hi OMM -
It took me forever, but I think I'm mostly caught up. I have to say, I really to think OG13's suggestion on trying a SOG or 12/12 from seed is spot on - for several reasons. It will make better use of the light and space, you have a few seeds onhand
, and the plants individually are so much more manageable to work with - sucks to say this, but you and I need to consider such things these days.
I can see some sort of SOG in my future potentially too. I'm playing with coco coir, moms and cloning so that I can make a more educated decision about it as a possible grow style long term.
As you know I didn't get much of a yield from my Chocolope either, but didn't have bugs. Though, ironically, my root zone was about like yours. Not much there. I had a light on roots accident early in my Chocolope's life that she never seemed to fully recover from.
Having said all that, the Chocolope I harvested was even better than Lucy (for me - though Lucy is pretty awesome), and I will definitely grow more Chocolope. I only have one seed left though, and I want to get comfy cloning and maintaining a mom before I germ her, as I intend to keep a Chocolope mom going forward...
Don't sweat the yield if you have enough meds, (and I hope you do). You were dealt a crappy hand throughout this grow, and made lemonade out of kumquats. What else can you do? Indoor growing is a radically different beast, add to that insane lighting bills, and switching environments midstream was bound to cause issues. I am still pissed about how much they rip you off for your electricity. Bastards. I was impressed with your creative solution on the lighting, but it's a bummer it didn't produce better.
Glad to hear that the bud you've harvested is really good. Aside from yield, are you still liking Chocolope - what are your thoughts on her?
Hi to Jo, and hope you both have a stellar weekend!
