OldMedMan Goes Indoors Part 2

Back in 2009, Subcool wrote a "How-To" on making your own "Super-Soil". It was originally published in High Times I think.....I've seen it in a few spots since then. He even talks of using a mix made from Light Warrior and Ocean Forest. I've used his homemade super soil and "Layering Method" in all my buckets for some time now......I ended up with a worm farm in the process :)
You can't beat this stuff for bringing out taste
THSea has calluses on his hands....yes?
You'll have to buy a pizza for him for this one :)
***Google is your friend since I haven't a clue how to do links.....and 420 may not appreciate it anyway....it's up there
I highly recommend you take a look.....
**I personally do still feed, but it's an organic worm-poo, bat-poo, bird-poo tea.....and organics just don't seem to burn or ever need flushing. I never flush plants and never seem to have feed/nute issues of any kind
Check it out Papa san :MoreNutes::MoreNutes::MoreNutes:

Hey Buddy,
I just caught up with the journal. Are you using Co2 withyou inside grows and do you need it.

Hi my Friend. :high-five:

Yes, I do and I need to replace what I have for some newer CO2. I may run without it this next time and see what difference it will make. One of those hard to judge kind of things. Hope things are going well for you. :high-five:

Hey Ya Chopper.:high-five:
I have heard of that soil.....I will Google it. yep, used organics this time....I don't think that I will this next time.
THsea gets a lot of Pizza my friend. His hands are OK so far. When I first started growing I used allot of teas....think I will go back to that.
Take care and thanks. :thumb:

Lmao I almost hit submit reply and the page was blank. This mystery seed is pretty good, not as good as the WallyMart joke:rofl::rofl::rofl:.

Buddy, like Granny420 said your quality is superb and will make up for the light buds, this will make you move onto the next one even faster:). And we look forward to seeing you hit a home run on this next grow:cheertwo: from security-harvest:high-five: Considering what you had to go thru just with the grow alone (front page news stuff in 420land), it is remarkable to have the harvest and the quality that your ladies are showing:goodjob::welldone::thumb::bravo: You kept a positive outlook and kept moving and we all learned from the ups and downs from your grow. I look forward to began sharing my grows as most of you are currently doing, this is truly what helps us all learn:circle-of-love: Be proud you and THsea everytime you spark up:Namaste:

1st off hello , have read a few of your journals all very informative & enjoying reads !
Saw you folks discussing / joking about the toy camera that you've used to share pictures of your tric's , I've been using an inexpensive I ordered via newegg , it does a great job & was only $29 w/ free shipping & they have a few others also , mine is fully adjustable 20x - 200x has a neat little stand [another word for holds it with shaking :phew: ] I just get the plant up near the computer desk & have it all on the screen live stable & adjustable it also has its own lighting illuminating the subject perfectly . Lord knows I'd get motion sickness holding that black one to my eye while trying not to waiver while focusing .
Any ways thanks for all I've learned from your threads & hope this'll help .

I am honored that I am your second post. Needless to say :welcome: to 420 and thank you for reading my Journals. :thumb: So glad you found some useful information in them.

Of all things, I never thought of Newegg. I'm on there 2 or 3 times a week. I'm a computer nut. I just built a new computer for all the other stuff I do.
In fact, during the break between grows, I'll be building another to replace this one. One of my son's will get this one. Which ever one sucks up to me will get it! J/K :)
I will look for what you described above. It sound just like what I need. Thank You. :high-five: Don't be a stranger...your always welcome here.:circle-of-love:

Yeah Buddy! We can thank my son Tao for the wallymart thing. I knew I had to post it. You folks are nutty as I am at times. :high-five:
Yep, about the grow. I kept hoping it would get better.....but it didn't. Another bump in the road.....on the way to perfection. Live and hopefully learn a bit more.
The ones we took down today were light weight, but we both think they will be great smoke. The quick drys tested very good!. Well, it's true my mistakes will help others to not do the same thing and that's a good thing.

Can't wait till you get yours up and running. Thanks for the good vibes voltron. :thankyou:

Sure it's some kind of progress.:rollit:

Your girls sound good......ah...got a picture? :)

Hey, OMM.

I have a question. I started 4x GDP and 4x SD at the same time, in the same environs (same mini greenhouse actually) and the same light. But for some reason, the GDP lagged a lot longer than the SD. >Link<

As this is my first with Ken's I have no idea about this. Do you have any experience with Ken's GDP cloning? Does it usually lag that long? You think they'll catch up? I'm a little worried that when the SD starts to finish, the GDP will not be ready and as they're in the same E&F they'll suffer when I flush the SD.

Thanks OMM for the support and understanding. I will take some pics with good camera tomorrow try to let them blossom a bit to take pics. I like how the chocolope looks, nice looking buds, one day i am gonna have to try these.:cheertwo::Namaste:

Hi My Friend....I took a look and your right, the Sour Diesel has taken off.
While Grand Daddy Purple is farting around. It just may be the the natural pattern that they grow. Can you separate them from the same container?
Don't know if you have the room or not. If you could, then flushing would be easy. They all look good, so your environment is good. :MoreNutes:

Always kola bear! :high-five:

When you get what you consider a good picture that would be fine. :) Show em off!

THsea and I already know that Chocolope is very, very good smoke, so we are pretty happy with what she gave us. You will find it hard to find one of her seeds though, they are always sold out! :thumb:

Thanks, friend. That wasn't meant to hyjack, but I knew that was the best way to get your attention on it.

I don't have the other side set up yet, though I'm working on it. Going is slow due to getting fired for missing too many days with my frikkin migraines, no warning either -bastards. I need another full lighting rig, and full delivery system, minus the res that I already have, to get the other side up and running. I guess I could always transplant them over if I get it going before these finish. Or since they only look a week behind, maybe 10 days by the look of the first GDP starting to stretch, what do you think about just a 1 week flush for the SourD? Think it'll be enough time? I mean I usually flush 2 weeks. I could let the SD go a tiny bit longer to increase couchlock I guess. . . Or do you think the GDP will catch up? I mean trichs are already starting to show on them and the SD still don't show signs of flower and still smell of alfalfa. <sigh> What a fuster cluck.

Making a post is NOT hijacking my friend! Not here anyway. :Namaste:

Sorry to hear about the job. That sucks and makes things even tougher. One week flush should be fine for SD.
Here is a bit more on the GDP. You may find a hint in it of what to do.

Apothecary have been growing and refining this all-indica variety for five years. Her ancestors have grown in the hills of Northern California for over two decades, where her phenotypes have been known by many different names including Grape Ape, Purple Erkel, and Grandaddy Grape Ape.

As an indoor crop, Granddaddy Purple is equally happy in hydro or soil. With a pure indica heritage, this plant is predisposed to a short bushy stature. Granddaddy branches extensively, making her less than ideal for SOG style grows, but she can be trained to make an awesome super crop garden. When left to her natural tendencies, this strain will make a nice big shrub that reaches about 3 feet indoors or up to 8 feet outdoors. She is a hardy grower with tight internodes and dense dark green to purple leaves.

Granddaddy Purple is easy to work with throughout her growth cycle. She likes a cool temperature, between 70-80 F, and can be very forgiving so long as she is adequately watered. Due to her high resin output and dense structure, this plant can be alluring to mites.

Granddaddy Purple finishes her flowering cycle in 8-9 weeks. The buds are dense green nuggets that gain royal purple hues as they mature. Depending on the size she is allowed to reach, Granddaddy Purple can yield between 0.5 and 3.5 ounces apiece. outdoor plants will really deliver, with potential yields between 8 ounces and 5 pounds.

There is a potent, undeniable grape tinge to this plant' aroma, and a sweet grape taste that lingers subtly on the tongue. Granddaddy Purple's effects are enduring, with a smooth even feeling throughout. For an indica, her buzz is surprisingly alert and energetic rather than sedating. This is a good smoke for walking in the high meadows and swimming in the lake afterwards. Medicinally, this variety has given relief to cancer / chemotherapy patients. Granddaddy Purple has taken first prize in no less than four pot competitions: The Inglewood Medical Cannabis Cup in 2004, and the Green Cup in 2004, 2005, and 2006.

Sounds like she will be short indoors............so that may be why she is lagging behind. :Namaste:

HEHEHE, Great minds think alike! As you posted that, I was just finishing up a read on SourD. I had forgotten that it tends to get "leggy" and as a Staiva Dominant will shoot up quickly. I was comparing apples to grapes!

In hindsight, probably not the best two to grow together, but as a test for this box, maybe it is perfect.
