OG's Nine Strains Under LEDs In Hydro

OK so I just spent 15 minutes and whipped up a functioning pumped water heat exchanger for my nutrient solution. Going to test its effectiveness now with a temporary rig up, then will set up something more permanent once I have proof of concept. Water Temperature was 20°C I'll check it again Later and see how much it's come down

For the curious here's what I did:

Drill hole in top of mini fridge big enough to allow pump cord to pass through

Put a bucket of water in the fridge and in that a small submersible pump which pumps water to a standard quarter inch black plastic irrigation hose

Ran this hose to my hydroponic reservoir and then made a half-dozen coils of the hose and zip tied them together, put that in the reservoir and ran the line back to the bucket through the same hole as the plug in the top of the fridge. Turned it on and it's done. Can tell it works because if I wrap my hands around the thin plastic tubes then I can feel it's cold inside the outbound hose and warmer on the inbound hose.

So it works. Going to go to Home Depot soon and get some parts to finish up the project. Will add more and bigger loops to the submerged hose as I would like it a couple degrees cooler. Will take some pics for you then.

OG, Could you possibly fab up a semi-permanent copper line to run from fridge pump to res with multiple coils, as the copper will out-perform plastic water tubing in regards to heat transfer. Maybe you could rig up a soft joint with tube, where it connects etc. to keep it workable?

Just a suggestion.
Cheers

Yes I could but the problem is I expect it will corrode really bad in the acidic nutrient solution. So for that reason am trying plastic first. If I can't get it cold enough with plastic then will try stainless or copper or aluminum or titanium. Not sure which one is most appropriate.

I like it OG

Those are some pretty girls, pigeons420. They you're genetics OG? If so, looking good so far

Thank you sir!

And yes, these are the fine work of our man OG. And I've already grown, harvested and smoked one of these and boy is it a real treat!

I'll take what ever he throws away any day!!

Hi OG, I'd like to pull up a chair and sit. Looks like you have done this before.

Cheers

Yes sir! Jackalope is a cross between Jack's Smack and Chocolope and Thunderpaws is a cross between Jack's Smack and Critical Kush.
All the parents were excellent, so the children should be great too.

So far pigeons is the only one to harvest one so far, and he only grew a tiny one that didn't get much love. So he is trying again this time with lots to hopefully have enough to get the best phenos  they should all be good though. All parents are strong and relatively fast bloom time (10 weeks). So I expect they will all be good but tend towards one parent or the other.
I will grow some jackalope and Thunderpaws myself eventually but already have 9 others on the go first ;-)

Looking great and awesome water cooler set up OG . I always love reading your journals my dude

Thanks! Just waiting for my stainless wort chiller to get here then it will be finished.
