I agree with both of you about the sativas. I've got no choice but to cut down the NYC Diesel now or lose the chance to harvest before I leave (and risk harvesting too late) for the sativas, what's your recommendation? I've got a friend who can come over and cut them down at any time, but he won't know how to check if they're done.
What I'd like to do then is tell him a date 1-2 weeks from now for him to cut down both sativas. To do this I need to pick a date where I can be confident both sativas are mature. I've been thinking on this a lot the past few days

PW and Gauge are officially the most helpful people of the grow. I have loved having your company through some uncomfortable decisions 
today I've harvested NYC Diesel to give it enough drying time for me to leave Friday. Both sativas will be harvested in 1-2 weeks by a close friend of mine. I still haven't decided which day to have him harvest, so any recommendations would be appreciated!

Sativas get a little more full every day. I wish I could stay here to watch them finish. Watered both of them today. I checked the pH of the runoff from watering and sativa #1runoff pH was ~5. More acidic than I'd like. I need to figure out how that could/has affect my grow.

Leaving today, the plants will mature for another 7 days and will be cut down may 19th. I'll post more info about NYC Diesel and the Sativas in the coming weeks.

Sativas are still pushing out white pistils so you still have time. Dont worry about harvesting late. Just make sure their fully mature.

Do you think 7 days might be too soon? He's not a smoker, he's just a really close friend. So I'm going to have to give him pretty basic/full proof instructions. That's why I was trying to keep it easy with "just cut them in X days" where x is a safe number of days between late and too early

If you pick a number choose on the high side. Have you been looking at trichomes?

Sativa #1 trichomes: mostly cloudy, with countable amber trichomes
Sativa #2 trichomes: mostly cloudy, with 30%still clear
Maybe another 10 days?
