Going to be putting my neck on the chopping block lol, homemade blooming nutrients , and immune drench
Running against a brand that cost over $60 a litre all my nutes cost about $20 to make 50 litres plus when done

I am also making a pot that cant be over watered :nervous-guy:
And a spider mite spray that cost pennies that i used in almost full flower with no bad affects ( AS YET ) have to update when i smoke it :)

You've been busy, what did you use for the spider mites? Last grow my plants got a bit infested with them and I had to do a number of sprays with insecticidal soap, Dr Bronner's Castille soap and Neem. I felt that turned the pistils brown but eventually made a difference to the spider mite. PITA though!

the neem will stay in the taste and hard to shift at the end, when i get there and my mix worked then ill update ;)
I am not aware of any Neem lingering in the dried bud but I think from memory the last spraying was at least 2 weeks before harvest. Even though I had read of Neem being broken down in just a few days I didn't want to chance it. Hopefully your approach proves to be a good one. Interesting to hear how it goes.

So i am going to give this a go , better been stuck like a record keeping everything the same time after time lol , i cant i have to try different approaches

this idea is to start autos , treat it like a small pot until the roots go into the new hotter soil, the soil in the net will dry fast , ( part of the plan ) , ill be watering until run off just in the middle , i have a good layer of coco at the bottom of the net to the floor of the pot to encourage the roots to the bottom and then sides ( mostly to the bottom ) i hope , then ill water from the top in a circle half watering to tease side roots out ,

This is just a test so its a basic soil mix i made up my self ( nothing fancy ) i put a banana blaze in

:nerd-with-glasses:

,
Interesting...I like the idea.

successfully treated a rotten stem from branch break , this branch was rotten it had black goo and almost ate through to the other side , nutty has it sussed :thumb:P1090479.JPGP1090480.JPG

I wish i had of took the before pic but didnt think it would work lol
Good save.

the idea is to water the middle like you would a small pot then slowly do the sides to bring the roots out then water normally when you get a good root ball , the bottomless one i can remove after a while so again the side roots will come out

Thankfully, new research published in the xxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxx has found growers don't always need to hit the exact numbers detailed in most growers forums. According to the investigation, the ideal pH range for growing cannabis is between 5.5 to 6.5. But (and this is an important discovery), the research team also had significant success growing outside this range.

The research team from North Carolina State University tested for pH at several large scale (and successful) commercial operations. They discovered pH levels across the spectrum, and often far outside the suggested range between 6.0 to 6.5. Back in their laboratory, they were able to grow cannabis in a pH range between 5.0 to 7.5, without serious repercussions.

Essentially, cannabis plants aren't so picky about pH as we once thought. :meatballs:

What is the Ideal pH for Soil?
Typically, you'll see significant variation from online experts about the ideal pH for soil systems. While researching this article, we found one website stating a pH between 6.3 and 6.7, another said 5.5 to 6.5, while still another reputable source claimed 6.0 to 6.8. The study from North Carolina State University determined a more specific range of between 6.2 to 6.7 as the ideal.

There is a lot of opinion on the best pH for growing cannabis in soil. This may be because the soil contains more variables than a soilless substrate, allowing for more room to swing up and down the pH scale.

Why do Coco Coir and soil systems have different pH targets? Soil naturally holds on to more nutrients than a soilless medium like Coco Coir. Therefore the risks of nutrient lock-up aren't as severe for soil-based growers.

I’ll add to that of you don’t mind Nutt :) If you are growing in LOS, the plant regulates the soil pH, locally around the roots, allowing it to “pick & choose” which nutrients are needed at that time by that root.

I recently watched a research lecture where they found that in organic grows, the plants actually “bred” (for lack of a better word) bacteria to supply it nitrogen. They included a microscopic video showing the root exude something that attracted the bacteria which then entered the root cell, in a space between the cell wall and cytoplasm. In this space, the bacteria were subjected to an acidic environment and “tumbled“ around. The acid broke up the “shell” of the bacteria, releasing N for the plant to use, and also broke up the genetic material of the bacteria causing them to multiply, after which, the root ejected them into the substrate to start the process over again.

Was a real interesting video :)

watched some videos the plants and its roots decides when to climb the ph scale, its chooses its menu for that day and you can be working against the plant by feeding a low ph all the time , , i was watering mine straight from the tap 6.8/7 lol no problems at all until i fed lower than 6,2 ,they release acid to lower the ph themselves
ill up date what i did to save the rotten stem , i never added because im doing a rerun , ( make sure it worked lol ) same as the mites spray
