Nutty & His Antics

Well had a think and i have decided to pull the plug on the one branch for a few seeds , not worth the risk to others with mould and mites, i need a good clean run , i have hundreds of seeds so why bother risking this :)

:rip:
That sounds like a pretty good plan when you are not worried about or need the seeds

Every thing else going as planed , almost time to turn on my light mover :)

Hey Professor, Let me run this by you. For my forthcoming grow I want to try to selectively reverse a couple of branches or so using Colloidal Silver of one plant out of 3. My outdoor growing area is a balcony that is quite limited in size. I can fit 3, or maybe 4 plants at the most. I am planning of running 3 different photo strains. And so I know who the 'daddy mother' is, I planned to only attempt to selectively reverse a few branches of just one plant. If that went to plan I could then make S1 female seeds from that plant, and also cross it's female pollen with the other two plants. So with 3 plants I'd end up with S1 seeds from the 1 plant that was reversed and female seeds from the other 2 plants of different strains the that would be crosses.

It's a bit of a punt attempting this in outdoor growing, because if it rained for days I may not be able to carry out the required daily spraying of colloidal silver that would be necessary to successfully reverse the female and create pollen balls.

But assuming the reversing did work fine. Do you think it is in any way feasible to reverse all 3 plants so I can make S1's out of each strain and also make crosses of them all? I was asked that, and I felt it would be too difficult to do and still have the confidence of knowing which female sired which seeds, because as we know pollen floats around very easily. I felt if I only reversed 1 plant then regardless of any stray pollination that occurred I would at be able to feel confident on who the daddy strain was! I mean I like the thought of being greedy and attempting to make S1's as well as crosses, but I can't see how I could do so with the plants right next to each other, even with bagging the reversed branches it would surely mean that some pollen would escape at some point and it would be impossible to then have the confidence of who the seed parents were.

I presume you'll confirm for me that it would be too tricky.. but still, you might be nutty enough to know an approach around that.

Cheers

if you use regulars , why not take a clone of each one , and then use the clone from each one to reverse and pollinate and keep the first plants for harvest ?
Start with one clone of each , spray one clone with CS and then you can keep separated , then just keep the pollen in a jar to pollinate the branches you want seeds off on the clones , then you have best of both worlds and dont need a ton of room ?

Some natural light pics , can make the seedy out now :)

banana glue inside :)

All the rest , still finding some mite but working on killing every single one

These will be female seeds that I'll be using, and also I am growing outdoors on a balcony. I have never done cloning before, I always have viewed cloning as something favoring indoor tent growing more - is that doable for outdoor? I hadn't considered cloning. I was thinking of solely, selectively spraying a branch or three on the plant. But considering I'll no doubt be pruning off unwanted growth early in the piece, they could be used for clones couldn't they!? Plus because I have to keep my plants low for stealth reasons so I will be topping to Quadline them, so the top would also be suitable for cloning purposes. Hmmm.. that would be a shame to waste it. What's the best thing to use to encourage rooting that you would suggest?
