Never count out the mutants, reeferman once said mutants often times turn out to be very special plants.
They way I see it is we have always been fascinated by mutations in animals and people like albinism and gigantism, but usually associate the word mutation with that negative stigma of the unfortunate ones that don't fit the "image" and can't be glorified. However, with plants if it turns out to be a mutation for the better then people will begin breeding it in hope of recreating the mutation and possibly stabilizing it for exploitation.

I read that article about them. Interesting indeed....especially the claims on which strains are known for producing them.
