NoobyMacDooby's Grow: Less Nooby More Dooby!

Yeah this was a straight locomotion run and they just threw one or 2 male flowers but it should be a fairly stable strain so I feel like the mistake was on my side.
For the cookies cross I'l be watching like a hawk, they seem to just throw one or 2 at the start and end so should be able to pinch them off if it happens.

Kinda a shame because the cookies seems to be one of those strains that always works well crossed. There's a rotten fruit/berry pheno in the loco cookies to be found but the one I've flipped has a more citrus smell to it right now on a stem rub. Got one more in veg that I'l flip this week, it's showing a slightly sativa look to the leaves now so hoping its a lady as that's a new pheno to me. I also now realize why pheno hunting is a thing....so cool and fun to see the variations

I'm sure you will figure it out bud.

By the way, I've read recently that green light does effect the plants.

Yeah and its not a led green light just a normal coloured bulb you buy at the shop, then I wrapped about 7 green plastic packets around it. To the eye it takes a minute before you can see or work in the room but leaving it for days is not good so hopefully that was the issue

I've been running the same green CFL bulb for the last 10 years in my ceiling fan in my flower room. And I've spun it afew times and forgot to cut the light after I was done. Leaving it on overnight sometimes. I forget the outcome, of that mistake,,,, but I do know for just using one for say 15-30 minutes,, which I do about bi-weekly,,, it didn't affect them. I really think a plant recognizes all colors. Just different wavelengths affect different things. But green don't seem to bug a night time schedule..... If it does,, I blamed all my hermies on the wrong thing???? But I haven't put a green finger on problems with them?

Yeah I'm not sure either, quite tricky to pin point when there are so many factors. Also just realized my humidifier has a blue led light that flashed briefly when it comes on, its on a controller though so it switching on / off every couple of minutes depending on the RH. I did initially spray paint the inside of it to diffuse the blue but maybe it needs a bit more?

But then I read of other people who have half open doors with house lights leaking in etc. with no hermie issues. They say that its because its what the plants get use to at the beginning.

At this point I feel like I've ruled out nutes / grow medium etc. as I'm doing 2 very opposite styles of growing DWC / LOS and both can show issues. Heat is another one I've got control of as the room never goes higher than 28c and thats only in summer. At night the temps can drop low in winter but its at 17c the lowest.

Air flow should be ok too, I have in / out fans for the room that run a 15minute cycle to clear the room. When running the AC it sucks fresh air in constantly too.

Lights I'm not sure of though. I've got a 1.2m x 2m grow area with 12 x 36w Cobs running on a 1050amp meanwell driver. The idea was good dense photon output but maybe thats just too much for that size? The plants show the slightest bit of puffyness on the top most leaves but otherwise no light stress or bleaching etc. They are praying to lights all the time too.

Genetics and light leaks are your most likely culprits. Massive pH swings could also cause it if you have a sensitive strain.

Most polyhybrid strains these days, have the potential to herm.

GSC are well known for showing inter sex traits and it can carry over to cookie crosses. It looks like they throw a few nanners down low and close to the main stalk. Pull those off and they usually won't produce anymore nanners.

Not sure what you are talking hermie,,, some strain mainly them longer flowering time sativas, always seem to throw afew nannas late in flower. And just that fact, if they are fem seeds, is they have that hermie trait in them. Guess I should read back and find out what ya'll are talking about? Before I put my foot to deep in my mouth..

Drive by doobs.
Heat and low p.h. can bring out the lady boys in full force.
Happy daze brother.
Yeah I screwed up the PH big time before I got a pen to properly measure... cheap drops / liquid you can get dont do very well.

No fems but lots of poly-hybrids.....and still learning the grow process.
