Nick Hardy's Skunk Works #4 Mars Hydro FC Evo 12x OG Kush Solos 4x4 - Viva Voce Grow

This is good. Lights out in the 5x5 now they still warm and a bit moist. I had to pop home as the pump tripped so I threw 4L of water on the trays, its been a touch too dry in there since I did the HVAC Circuit. Have a plan for overnight, the air is gair racing through there and I have two fans on barely turning to manage the pressure in them 😂

I’ll nail it tomorrow - so close to perfect. But wilty and dry air on skin no bueno.

I’ll post a pic of wilty and green in about 45 minutes when the pool team loses in record time!

Yeah they’ve bucked up loads. Peat is drier but still wet just half a centimetre down. Coco Peat retains way more moisture -than coir- just 1cm down wet. But better. One back right got blasted by air for 5 minutes during setup, along with another one. Bit discombobulated looking still. Tomorrow, alles gut inshallah.

Lights out in about two hours - wonder what overnight looks like?

The VPD btw - the leaf temp is 27c the temp 29 say. Rh is 64%

Its a bit warmer to me ai reckon.

Moved the sensor in here and:

I dunno feels way warmer in there and wetter. The sensor is just in so maybe needs some adjustment.

They look just mental good. 35 plants in an 8x4 all looking pretty much banging.

❤️

Perked right up by skipping watering last night.

They’re at 30-40cm out the the dirt. Maybe top at the weekend. No sensors in there again. Feels a bit warmer and wetter than yesterday for sure. The water ai tossed on the trays is nearly all gone.

It feels way warmer and wetter in here. Got the Pulse in to see how much so. I’ll take a light reading later too. 75% and praying away.

They’re at 40-50cm canopy. I think top today or tomorrow. Need some defol on the 5x5 more urgently though. I need to be a little careful. The 19 ai think we settled on going upstairs no problem. We can grow them outdoor sized. These are going in 3 gallon pots takes off 25cm, these lights I reckon the same at the top. 130cm max height I reckon. I think maybe we’ll flip these before the ones upstairs. I don’t like running upstairs on 18/6 - its 2190w for an extra 6 hours a day but maybe I’ll do 14/10 or something. They’ll only a need a few days in there on full gas and it will do them. Nice 150cm canopy please.

The Panty Punch just looks so cool. Those praying leaves with the barbed serrations. Going to look for some photos of her later. ❤️

Nick

So the Panty Punch is Seedstockers. It was marked as such but just Fem not Auto. The OG Kush was marked as a Photo but is clearly an Auto - that was in the breeder packaging too - Dutch Bulk😂

Free seeds delivering anyway.

I popped it on 31st October. They were all 48 Hours. Say November 3rd day #1 makes today Day #46

Its indicated as 77 days but recommends a week more.m for extra yield and potency. So we’re a little over half distance. Go girl go!

THC above 30% 😂 doubt it.

The 8x4 seemed hotter than that and the Pulse agreed with me. Meh. Pretty good readings on the old Skin&Eyes™ and the artificial sensors ballpark too. The 5x5 is a little hot and just 56% Rh right now but changed something that I think will bring it a little cooler in the next twenty minutes.

The Co2 pipe fell out so the readings are low everywhere. The gas is there somewhere because the tank has nearly run out!

Thinking ahead to the coming weeks I think I can balance the different growth requirements for the three zones in this order. But I have a 9000BTU upright AC Unit coming. It was only $120

Don’t. Tell. & Co.

😂

The light is at 300 or so PPFD. Its hung high at 3-4 feet off the steel cables to lowering it is a pain so I just haven’t bothered. A load of the ratchet blocks have broken the last year. Probably 500 would be better but I’ll just wait for the new light.

IMG_9141.jpeg

The 8x4 with the FCE 4800’s (budget version of the FCE4800 range) These are at 2-3ft above canopy and 75%

IMG_9142.jpeg

A very respectable 820 PPFD should get 1000+ all over in here during flower.

Video of all downstairs really. Plumbers come tomorrow to finish off something else but that's it bar the new light in the 4x4, next week to clear customs FedEx reckon. 1-2 days after that. Whatever. Broken swing fan in the 8x4 and the Mars Hydro 6" that was in there and joined to the 4x4 went up in a puff of smoke. One of the white ones went last week, its $5 repair by Sparky. Yeah greens and busy and all good. 58 plants I think in the video.

Nick & Co

O = Lights Off
I = Lights On

Ao these are 3 identical sensors for temp and Rh

Its descending in order from the AC and Dehuey. #1 feeds #2 feeds.. don’t tell & Co I bought another 4x4… 🤣

Half price 🤣

We have three stages at the moment.

All lights ON 0800 to 2000

#1 OFF - #2 and #3 ON 2000 to 0200

All lights OFF 0200 to 0800

We’re here now. In bold. Look at the plants stages in the sensor picture and compare with the plant growth stage. For me its super duper. I imagine I solved for VPD it would be pretty handy.

All lights ON 0800 to 2000 ❓

#1 OFF - #2 and #3 ON 2000 to 0200 ✅

All lights OFF 0200 to 0800 ❓

Think I tomorrow I find its three green ticks. 0800 to 2000 seemed pretty good today. No need the Dehuey in lights on now! Weird. The air moves so fast its like it just shakes off moisture!

I am who I am 😂

I had maybe 20kg of dry ice delivered 3 hours ago.

It lets off a lot, I mean a lot of Co2 as it “melts” - it doesn’t actually melt its different as it lets off super cold Co2.

Instinct is to put in the chest freezer, right? Yeah don't do that, it will explode. In order.

First the packaging
Second the freezer
Third your house

Plus it’ll kill you if you breath too much the Co2 starves your blood of oxygen. Not that you have any blood left as your body exploded with the house.

Its to make dry ice hash, a few here have made it Shed, Carcass, Grateful

I spent three hours throwing Co2 sensors round the house and cross calibrating. 🤣

Then I’m like look - its running near perfect for plants in flower. 😂

IMG_9157.jpeg

Too high.

For flower Co2 levels just sitting there. (I always play 13/17 Corner black at roulette)

IMG_9172.jpeg

Gonna have to trust me M. Croupier 😂

Any obviously I have the Autos. I chucked them in with the gas and under a full power 730w @Mars Hydro FC6500 make the most of it, right?

Also just bought 3x Panty Punch Autos for when my giant SIP plant fails tomorrow. Actually the tutu was the reason. Joke but no joke.

Yeah those numbers, all take those now. Touch warm but too easy. Basically AC not even working now.

Hey Nick!

You could put the dry ice in a chest freezer as long as the lid does not seal tight (will evaporate slower). It will "burp" off CO2 so needs to be in a well ventilated room. If the lid is tight it could blow it off as it off-gasses but no real danger of explosion unless it is in a sealed container. The real risk is oxygen displacement as you mentioned above. Also the dry ice will damage paint / plastic if if it comes in direct contact.

Also it does make a mess when you shake it onto glass / mirror. By mess I mean golden trichomes all over the place!
:goof:
Next time I'll use @Joe Brewster 's method and put a plastic bag in a bucket, and shake the micron bag inside the bucket. If the plastic bag is cold it should be easily recovered. A round pan at the bottom may work good.

I don't use a bucket, just the micron strainer bag, twisted at the top, then the garbage bag wrapped around that.
When I shake, I jolt it at the bottom stroke, trying to knock the trichomes thru the screen

Thank you @GratefulBud & @Joe Brewster

We survived the night! PPM stayed right at around 1500. 10am here now, at 2pm I have an immigration appointment, on the way via back glass store by which time the Micron Bag set should have arrived and I can just get my shake on and dry ice hash for all!

🙏🏼

PS - the two Autos seem to like their bonus time in the flower room 😂

Awesome!
Did you put your trim in the freezer ahead of time to get it cold?

Sounds like the ticket.
Would it still be effective removing the trichomes from the bag in warmer weather?

You should be able to just keep sticking it back in the cooler with the dry ice.
Dry ice is almost instant freeze, don't try to chill your beers with it unless you want beersicles

Wonder if anybody has tried a co2 fire extinguisher I know some people freeze fish that way
