Nick Hardy's Skunk Works #2 The Giant SIP Outdoor Soil: Thailand!

A stinky wall of red bud across the front of my house how cool?

The theft thing I only worry about is the drunk well to do American college students that book villas about 50m away. The Burmese catch them at it wouldn’t be a cool story back home. Stealing a man’s crops is taken mega seriously here - which is why & Co is off to the cop shop this week.

if you're going to put your secrets in one place put them here!
Hahaaaaaahh- oh-uh- hahaaahhoh god cant stop laughing fer some reason, a week later.
One suggestion that seems to work pretty well on the standard 5 gallon bucket version is to hang burlap, or in your case the silver insulation, from the top rim and simply let it hang. Because of the taper of the container, there will be an air gap between the container and the light block which adds to the buffering effect of the cover.
This. We both have done this to remarkable positive effect, N.
Thank you for posting the results of the experiment! :thanks: it's growers like you who try different things and post the results that make us all better growers.
OMG Sick burn!

(I'm only 1/2 way through this thread but couldn't just shut up)

Cheers for popping by Res! Two birds with one stone! I followed Azi’s signature to find the leaf problem guide you originally found and think I may have diagnosed a plant with a Zinc deficiency so I’ve just treated it with some foliar and will bump its next feed down Ph wise.

So thank you nice find. Love that it has multiple pictures of each problem.

Thanks again,

Nick

Genetics is the code that traces out our greatest potential as individuals, but it is the bacterial/microbe world, the holobiont living on, in and around our indiv airspace, that have all the impact on just how much of that potential we're capable of reaching day to day as it is the day to day determinant of our wellness in the present moment.

ugh, sorry. This last concussion is having profound cognitive issues for me, still a couple weeks after the fact. I'm struggling to read and write.

I know its been a long road but you had some small wins recently? Feeling any better?

To your post, yep I’d have to agree. Growing in a completely sterile world with totally filtered out air, RO water I think loses something. Dunno, something of the earth (as in the whole thing not just the medium) @Keffka gave some great detail on it a page back as well. Where did that “thing” that landed in the petri dish of Fleming? Might have been missed if the window was closed.

Yeah, you mean the invention of penicillins right after the war?

I’ll preach a moment

Microbes are life. We humans, and most other earthly life have no business living in sterility. Our existence is possible not because of some perverted space daddy in a sterile vacuum but because Mother Earth has provided the perfect environments for microbes to thrive beyond simple survival. It is microbes and the planet we should be thankful for and praying to.

Like all things, sterility has its place. However, if we are talking about life here on earth in almost any capacity, sterility shouldn’t be a part of the equation at all. We can’t even figure out how our own brains work, how dare we think we know better than the microbes that gave birth to us.

Those that are close to and in tune with the land have known this for a long time. It’s been obscured with the rise of monotheism and the spiritual oppression of man’s religions that seek to separate us from our Mother the Earth.

Hey Res. :ciao:
I get the same issues.
It's a struggle daily to keep up.
Take it easy Amigo.
Get yourself a good CCM.;)
Pain to wear it but better than beating your skull off the ground.
Take care buddy.

Up potted which I only mention because of the myco. @Keffka to follow your suggestion I just sprinkled a little Dynomyco on the top most layer of perlite in the medium. The roots were out the bottom of the peat pots so will be in direct contact with it.

One thing I noticed from wooden skewers is they get mouldy where they are in the ground .

Awesome! Good luck! Moving forward I recommend getting a myco powder you can roll your seeds in.. This will get your myco up and running way before you go to flower which will help build P for the transition. If you prefer to stay with the granular dynomyco You can also go with sprinkling myco into the hole you plant in. This way as soon as the tap root comes out the myco can grab on.
