Nice Update! I actually take my restraints off right about now. My plants don't seem to try to fold back into each other from here on out. However if they do tent to scrunch up than I would keep them on!
I just keep picturing the little plant you had last grow. Have to remind myself that this is just the grow right after that and such a big difference! 7-8 Weeks left to crush your previous numbers!

Holy shit look at the closet lol. Damn it's getting real full, real fast. I think I need 1 more week. Tell whoever is moving over to hang in there.
My worries about splitting actually came true I see but u got that under control. Phew. ..
Smoke is great. Needs to cure to fully appreciate but it's a heavy hitter. 94 grams in jars already. Half of pearl is hanging. And this much left to chopYes they will be fine for a bit...I'll need room for my mama Swaggs once I pick her in a couple weeks so no rush! How's the harvesting? How's the smoke?

Thanks OTM, they were 8 various bag seed, 3 survived passed seedling stage lol. All 3 turned out to be female and 2 hermied . it was a very exciting Grow and I learned so much, your so right about that. What a difference between grow one and two.
They will keep getting better as you go, always learning and applying what you learn is the key...even if it doesn't go as expected...the only way to learn is to try.
It's amazing how much better things are this grow with the right environment dialed in and all my 420 friends helping me.Isnt great gettin past that "first baby"? Kinda feel like a super hero goin forward actually knowin a little somethin!!!!
Thanks Nooby, it's where I grew before my tent and now it's my veggie party pantry ..Nice looking cupboard setup!
I made CBD oil with all my plant leaves that I've saved from Ase & Swaggs. Mmmmmm it's good stuff. definitely has a calming body buzz. I gave some to my bf and he says he got high? I told him he's nuts but swears that he felt anxious like he does when he eats more than a bite of gingies. Anyways I'll be testing it on a couple more fresh palettes and report back. I wish I had access to a lab or somewhere I could test how much of what is in what, that could make dosing a breeze...sigh.
Anyway, here's what I did .-.
I took about 2 oz of fresh frozen fan leaves and through them in the oven to decarb anything in there. 230 for 45 mins. This also helps dry things out and then I weighed. There is still some water left in the leaves but I bubble that out in the process .
I cover it all up to keep the fumes inside and let the vapours settle back in and cool completely before uncovering
I get the 2.5 cups of coconut oil and 2 teaspoons of sunflower lethicin warmed up in my pot. I use a candy thermometer to make sure the temp is around 200 and steady, then I add the leaves and it foams right up which is totally normal, I wish I would have gotten a pic of the foam this time. It all settles down and I use my hand blender to get everything broken down and mixed up.
I keep it around this temp to let the excess water boil off. That's those lil bubbles you see. I did this for 2 hours then lowered it to 170-190 for an hour and then it's infused.
I strain it through a mesh screen and some cheese cloth and then squish the shit out of it with a potato ricer
And today
Yum .
She posted this some pages ago. Hope it helps. I can confirm she uses it for baking aswell and they are delicious...And potent.Hi Newty!
I'm really interested in your coconut oil infusion as I prefer it for cooking.
Do you use it for baking too and how different is it to use compared to cannabutter?
I love my edibles but I can't seem to get the potency out. I'm going to try freezing the trim and small buds in future as I've learnt it makes the thricomes come off the plant better before infusing. I also use a slow cooker and leave it to stew for a good 24 hours on a low heat.
Do you do anything similar?
Any advise and baking recipes would be highly appreciated!?

That's amazing! I have been reading through your journal slowly so haven't come across the other posts yet but this was very useful. Thank you ever so much! I will deffo give you a shout out when I come to do some bakingHi Purkle, thanks and welcome. I love the oil process and have been perfecting it for my use over the passed years. I've only learned recently how to infuse fresh harvest stuff and yes I usually freeze, collect it and then thaw when I have enough if you don't follow sweet sue, you should! I learned a lot from her threads.
I make thc edible oil from ground bud I buy and from any sugar leaves that I collect. I also make cbd oil for myself, a few friends and some dogs I make this from my heavy defoil as in Veg. I keep these leaves separate in the freezer
This is my fresh harvest process right now...
I lay everything out leaves, buds and stems on parchment paper and cover with tinfoil. I dry everything out/decarb whatever is in there for 45 mins at 230 F. I then take it out and let it cool completely so the vapours settle back into the herb.
While this is in the oven, I get my coconut oil ready. I usually use 2 cups of oil to 1 ounces dry stuff or 2 cups coconut oil for a full zip of fresh harvest, 2 trays of trim...
I use a candy thermometer to get the temps around 200 F and make sure it's stable before I add everything. I also add sunflower lethicin 1tspn to every cup of oil. Ive played around with adding this after infusion and for me it doesn't really make a difference when you add it, because I'm a stoner, I kept forgetting to add it after so it goes in during the cook
I used to use a slow cooker but I've gotten away from it solely because I can't control the temperature and mine is 170 on warm. I believe anything longer than 5 hours cooking time, especially at a higher temp will cause the thc to breakdown and I like mine potent! This is my personal opinion and preference
Now saying that, anything I've made this way is much stronger than anything I've made using the slow cooker. I also don't infuse using water and some people swear by it. I've done both and I find the oil to taste better if I don't use water...although it hasn't effected potency
Ok so I add the mostly dried herb to the oil/lethicin mix and then blend it all up with my cheap hand mixer. Any water left in the plant will get boiled out first by keeping the temp at 200-250 (low on the stove) I keep this temp for about an hour, checking every 20 mins and give it a good stir! I try to mimic the magic butter machine...lol (if you've used one you will know the crazy way it stirs shit every 15 mins)
You will see tiny bubbles everywhere and that's the water boiling off. Don't worry too much about this if your using coconut oil, it will separate anyways when it cools.
After an hour or so, I dial down to about 170-190 and keep checking every 20 mins to stir (you really have to keep an eye on the temps when your using the stove top, I set reminders total infusion time is 3 hours. I've played around using longer times but I don't notice any real difference so I keep it short
Straining...I use a mesh strainer with cheese cloth over top, pour the mixture through, tie up the cheese cloth and smash it through the potatoe ricer (I get my boyfriend to get it really good, lol) He always gets way more out.
Now you have the liquid gold
If you really want to stretch it, I will sometimes take that squeezed out puck and boil it, re-strain and let that separate in the fridge, sometimes a get a 1/3 cup from this hot water bath.
It usually tastes worse so I use it to make cookies. The green coconut oil is perfect for all my baking needs. Replace the butter in any recipe, and it's healthier! I also cook with it and make lattes everyday.
Fun fact... a teaspoon of Coconut oil first thing in the morning gets your metabolism going. It jump starts ketosis in your body! I eat it all day long. Lol
Ok so my favourite recipe to use is my gingie recipe...I use 1cup of oil and an extra 1/4 of sugar.
These are more potent than any other recipe and I believe it's because of how the body processes the sugar and cannabis together. I'm not a scientist so I'm not sure but the higher the sugar in the baking the stronger the cookie.
Also sugar cookies have had the similar experience...again lots of sugar. Basically sugar and green butter
I have documented a lot of different processes here so feel free to snoop around I'm working on some cooking videos and a YouTube account so stay tuned
