Newty’s Perpetual Pantry Party & Outdoor Grow Show

Morning Newty.....hope you had a great weekend girl!! Hope you and the family had a great Easter!
 
As long as you know what's going into the big pots (ie clones from successful runs) you should be okay.
I have some "white rhino" I started from seed that are "supposed" to be a stocky indica dom strain and thought "oh, I'll put two 15 gal pots of coco in my bloom closet and it'll be awesome!"
Well, turns out these things are sativas and have grown 6' tall and still stretching in week 10 of flower! WTF??
They've stretched past the lights (which I had to remove the ratchet straps and pin them directly to the ceiling) and now every day I have to train them back under the lights.

I've had to train the top colas sideways many times and now those sideways tops have grown their own side colas.
Also, super fluffly buds unless they've got a trick up their sleeve anytime soon?
also, the black metal grid thing in the pic is what the lights used to hang from!

Haha!! I have a small 3 g tree going in my living room #mamadebbie I can only imagine how big PW’s will be!

Holy shit balls SC! I’m having that serious problem with dank...she’s hit the light twice and I cannot get them higher! I’ll need to start some side training maybe...I’ve already supercropped the tallest branches 2 times
 
Yeah, sounds like it's time to train sideways or maybe try back building your buds?
(pretty much cutting a very tiny tip of the top of the bud off to stop the stretch and make it grow thicker instead.

I tried BB with a previous grow and it seemed to help a lot with stretching.
despite my whining about the tall growth I haven't done it (back building) yet with these out of curiosity to see how freakin tall they'll go and when will they stop? So far it appears I'm growing a vine LOL
 
Sorry excuse me a moment but I just gotta say again really quickly that you and I Newt think in the same frame... Those are the type of clones I work with for sure.. And in my little Green Group as we call each other, couple of old friends in the same mindset on buds, we gift each other those..... Period... Nice to see others out there who value the depth and challenge on choosing the right clone of a mom... These last ones I got which are on here somewhere gave a me a huge and rewarding challenge.. Man they were ummmmm very needy... Also not from any of my people... As my best Bud would say " Jolly Good Show Chum" lol Green Day my friend and excellent end ....:D

I actually love working with clones so I’m not sure why I didn’t think of this first! These bad girls are going to be huge and I have high hopes for that supercropped clone;)

I just strapped thing 1 & 2 right down! They look terrible but still growing;)

Poor things, so confused.

Where about in the world are you Madd? Can we share clones?
 
I Have just a min for lunch right now Newt, but I am located in way upper N E .... South of Canada by an hour or so in a couple of directions... Come Summer time is when I usually get in the clone swaps, I find it perfect timing as I will have like 5 different strains and a few of each that will always need a supercrop or two... going outside they get outta control... They will be at least a foot or more, healthy, and rooted strong that way... As you can probably tell, and probably are as well, I like to " gift" life.... So if you are close enough for that to make it worth your time and we have different strains ( I prefer Indica, however my house buddy loves strong Sativa blasts), hell to the yeah.... I trust clones as apposed to seeds... THO seeds now are very reliable.... And thanks for the strong invite, I have found that tho I listen and learn here I dont have much in common most of the excellent growers on here are indoor except Amy..... Love that chick... We can talk more after 7pm EasternUS time .... I dont know where you located so sorry if that is a bad time... One of the most wonderful things is the WorldWide connection on here... all the Bud Porn during my long winter excites me lol and gives me the wanderlust of yet another spring mmmmmm Soon my friend... Ours was way busier than we wanted....but we got a lot done. Today is my relax day.

In that same guide it says not to do backbuilding until mid flower (week 5-6). By then the plants have stopped growing vertical anyways so it really shouldn't effect the height of a plant. Not saying you are wrong or that you can't do it earlier but I'd be worried about some of the ramifications it might have on yield if done that early.
 
That sucks with the auto's. I have heard of screw ups happening just not with that sponsor. These things take a while to get where you know and it its always a risk starting a new grow. I took a chance growing some freebies that were not marked fem or regular just found out in the last few days that its a girl.

On a positive note you're growing perpetual so the impact isn't quite as devastating and you have a new revised plan.

If i end up finding a strain or two i end up liking i would like to work with clones in the future now thati have a second tent that becomes more of a reality.

Clones are the best, when your ready I’ll walk you through it! Actually almost finished my “Attack of the Clones” video...coming as soon as I give it my final review!
