New ViparSpectra Lights Powering Self Watered SIP Run

Yes! The Rev in his book, True Living Organics, wrote

It was on his seed bank website buried in the Other information section on all of his seeds. Just a heads up so others who’ve read the book aren’t wondering how they missed it lol

Sorry…late arrival. Looks awesome so far good luck man, that is quite an operation you got going there, sub’d
Hey 70's nice to see you! They're starting to make me have to think what's next all the time now! You came at a good time!
I must say. I get the same effect by planting on 1 September. They sex by October but stay in veg. If I plant in October I often wait until December for sexing. Thats like half my grow. It's pretty cool it can be replicated indoors though.
I wish I had the space to plant them all outside and cut the males but space is no good for me to do that.

Thanks! Sorry folks.

Is planting in September more in line with the natural rhythms of your seasons? Meaning, is that a time when nature would begin sprouting in your area?

I would like to hone in on the physiology behind this but so much of what I’ve found is anecdotal or just plain wrong lol

I can't tell you the botanical science behind the process but if you do it, a pistol will appear and that's your reveal. I think it speeds up maturity process somehow for a while.
Does the pistil = male or female?

Ah - so no pistil = male, pistil = female. Thanks!! That’s super useful info.
Well it's not perfect but pretty good.
I was on their seed site today looking around and happen to read one of his suggestions to grow one he listed:
"I would highly recommend you sprout these under a 12/12 photoperiod. Keep them under this photoperiod for their first 14 to 15 days above ground before moving to a vegetative photoperiod. This will allow you to sex them easily at the 30 days above ground point. In containers, I would HIGHLY recommend you flower clones, and not seedling plants."
That is a few days different than his previous notes. Organic gardening is so loosey goosey! One of the things I like about it! This is just plain all around gardening of course and it falls right in.

He's advocated that for years. Wish I had better recall! He says they grow better from clone in a container.

It’s not in any of the versions of the book I have, perhaps it’s on his site or seed bank. I know you and I both figured out there was a lot of info on his website that wasn’t in his books, the same likely holds true for the seed bank.

Like we talked about in that other journal.. it’s not even about clones growing better.. it’s the fact the clone is that much further ahead in maturity versus a seed. When you’re in 2-3 gallon flower containers you need every extra bit of time you can get and clones do that with ease. When you don’t need to spend 30-60 days waiting on maturity you could flower in a solo cup if you wanted 🤣

I’ve read his mixes and his tips front to back in the books, and clones are mentioned like how to root and cut, but he never explicitly states his mixes are really geared toward clones or larger containers, and he heavily implies one could flower with his methods in 2-3 gallons from seed. He does nothing to disabuse anyone of that belief either.

That’s something I’ve taken issue with, with him since day 1 though. I love his theories, mixes, and breakdowns, but his information is spread out across too many platforms and some of it directly contradicts the rest. This isn’t surprising though.. an old stoner trying to keep track of all the information he’s put out over a website, magazine, book, seed bank, etc. he’s bound to contradict himself eventually. I mean he was still pushing MH in his last book and talking about the future of LEDs 😂

Still waiting on the third edition though.. I’d love to see what he’s been doing the last 7 years

There and at Skunk mag. he writes a lot.

He stated that he finished it around Christmas so I guess he's trying to sell his old books out before he goes to market with the new? Who knows, I just want to get my hands on it. A Druids guide is part of the title. Sounds intriguing to me!

He is an interesting entertaining fellow for sure. Cloning in small containers makes total sense to me. I don't grow from seed in small pots, only in 7 or 10gals. He has mentioned more than once that seeds are for outdoors, clones are for indoors. I am not sure if it was in one of his books or at Kingdom Organics. Even sativas from clone can get away on you. I prefer about 18-21 days in soil and then flip the clones to flower. I watch the roots. Once my pot has a full head of roots poking thru all the way around and filling at least the bottom 2 inches of the pot then I flip. If roots are slow I top and wait some more.

IKLWA IS GETTING READY FOR TRANSPLANT UPDATE

Good day all! This young beauty with 3 nodes is ready for her SIP home! I'm just not. Hehe, I will be any minute when I reconfig the 4 x 4 for the rest of the grow to pre veg waiting for sex to appear. I have to get on that real soon! This is getting more real now!
Here's IKLWA today being all nice and strong.
