New Moon Over Guawi: A High Brix Journey

This is sure to be buried when I need to refresh
so I will include it here

Cations....
Anions ....
and what products to use according to what I want to happen

Good question. It's time for review!

Cations....a short way of saying "positively charged ions" stimulate reproductive growth in plants, including and especially the greatest plants in the world....namely our plants. This means that Cations support: calyx, seed, pistillate, stamenate, pollen and all other aspects of reproductive tissue.

Anions, or negatively charged ions, stimulate "growth" in plants: stems, leaves, trunks, etc.

The most powerful Cation is NH3....ammonia. The next most powerful Cations are the phosphates and sulfates. As you might have guessed, Cat Drench contains the ammonia form of nitrogen along with ammonium sulfate and phosphate.....all the heavy hitters jammed into one tricky liquid that works its magic in a nimble soil, not loaded up with organic matter and therefore "easier" to alter voltage potential. (High Brix Soil, in other words.)

The most powerful Anion is the Nitrate form of nitrogen. Yep....that's what Growth Ionic drench is.....

Ditto foliar sprays. Brix is designed to get phosphates and calcium into the leaves....which stimulates reproduction in a balanced way. We do have another spray that is so damn strong that it can and often does burn holes in the leaves, but it is even more stimulating of reproduction than Brix, as it has ammonia in it.

DeStress is a more growth oriented spray and of course we have another that is so skewed towards growth that it will inhibit flowering. We use that one on lettuce, cabbage, spinach and other dark green leafies to keep them from bolting.

But for Cannabis, we use Brix and DeStress.....Brix to support bloom.

So....if you want seeds, the quintessential "reproduction" part of plants, Cat Drench is your product!

Note:

If you're using your own handcrafted, untested soil and you load it up with organic matter, it won't matter if you use Brix, Cat Drench, Growth or whatever....because the soil has so much in it the potential simply can't be changed. That's why High Brix soil is so simple and doesn't contain all that stuff.

My Pleasure. it does make things SO MUCH easier.
Happy to hear someone could actually follow my DIY
AND found it use-full :high-five:

Cant seem to find the style spray head I used any longer
On-Line Walmart looks like they carry them but have to order
and have them shipped to the store BUT. they want to charge
me shipping. Says if less than 35.00 They expect me to
pay for there shipping and still go and pick it up NOT going to happen
"WHAT THE" I have to pay for Bags and NOW pay to stock there shelf's ?
What a racket... typical.

Thanks for reviving that Doc Bud knowledge G!

Sorry for the smaller than expected yield aswell. Digging that Crazy twisted bean stalk though :headbanger:

Thanks, the smaller yield is most definitely SELF INFLICTED  remember this run
I used uncooked 2nd run soil by mistake and then went off reservation in my attempt to
correct for next run

All said and done its still all TOP SHELF just a bit less than I normally get.

There, all up to date!! You run an entertaining grow sir !! Not to many dull moments !! liking your taste in lyrics !!

Welcome and Thanks. Seems I can always find new meanings in music depending on
how well my day is going ;)

Just finished harvesting the Guawi so very stoned and tired :bongrip: so its off to never never land

:welcome:

Was 8 inch below Net and 7 inches above, 15 inche plant height. interestingly the stem measures 15" in length
and was kept below the net. She stretched out a bit after I did the per-harvest a week ago, I removed the net
at that time. You can see were I switched to FLOWER notice the NODE STRETCH at the end

Oh this was an 8 week Veg and 2 week transition to Flower ( first pistils )

Looks like the PH x M is ready, surprised me since I was expecting 15 weeks but when
I just checked the Trichomes I see at least 10% amber.

I suspect using the Far-Red at lights out has made things a week or so faster,
the result is a faster finish but at the loss of time in flower and yield .

Same thing for the GUAWI, finished at 11 weeks but let go to 12 weeks hoping for
a spurt

Next run NO Far Red for a final conclusion.

Why your seeds can be confiscated by USDA when being purchased from out side of the USA

Apparently they don't allow seeds from other countries entering the U.S. w/o a phyto-sanitary certificate
and if found will confiscate under this law

Google search

What is a phytosanitary certificate for export?
What is the purpose of a Phytosanitary Certificate? Phytosanitary certificates are issued to indicate that consignments of plants, plant products or other regulated articles meet specified phytosanitary import requirements and are in conformity with the certifying statement of the appropriate model certificate.

What is a phytosanitary inspection?
Formal document issued by an exporting country's agricultural authorities to verify a shipment has been inspected and is free from harmful pests and plant diseases.

Congrats on your harvests Gaz, and your continuing experiment successes! - even tho the yield is lower, you’re making all the relevant observations. And like you say - still TOP SHELF!

Nice work getting all thos tops on the that one with just bending and sc’ing :thumb: I look forward to the pics

Yeah, this is kinda the same thing as the questions they ask you when going through customs on the way back in from another country. What they really dont want are invasive species...kudzu for instance.

You can see the box checked for the missing cert. you're talking about on the attached

I've had my seeds taken. It's no big deal. They tell you they have them, say they believe they are cannabis, and you can go to court if you believe their action is in error. They dont say a thing to deter trying it again. Kinda funny, you still get the tiny shirt the beans were wrapped up in, just no seeds.

"TIME LINE"
GUAWI
Pop to Harvest 153 Days
--------------------------------------
86 Days Flower, counting from First Pistils (12 weeks 2 days) was actually ready in week 11
....................................(12 to 13 weeks by breeder)
103 Days in 10 gal Pot

PURPLE HAZE x MALAWI
Pop to Harvest 161 Days
--------------------------------------
88 Days Flower, counting from First Pistils (12 weeks 4 days)
....................................(13 to 15 weeks by breeder)
105 Days in 10 gal Pot

I will wait for the FINAL Weight until all is stabilized at 62 RH in jars.

The wet weight for the pre-harvest on the GUAWI was 7.2 oz when Hung.
Expect to loose 70 to 80% so maybe 2 oz. That was half
of the total material berfore the Final harvest so Hoping for 4 oz after all is said and done ?
Normally pull between 5 and 6 per plant.

The PH x M feels surprisingly heavy by feel so maybe she will do better
than I am expecting

Pictures coming soon

Impressive plant! So short but with lots of big buds! Nice work! Congrats on the mighty fine harvest!

:passitleft:

Thanks Buddy, Hope to improve a bit more as things are understood :high-five:
Nice to know I cant screw it up enough to cause much damage

Congrats on the harvest! Looks tasty too. I'm really digging the circle shaped branch hanger

Thanks I am really looking forward to the PH x M Love Me some Sativa.
Probably a good thing they were ready early since I ran out of flower so have been
smoking KIEF from the bottom of my grinder. Its been a few years since I opened it up,
found a double thick SILVER DOLLAR size chunk in there :yummy:

Oh those hangers are great

Not that I really needed the extra room this run but they are perfect for small space drying
Picked them up at the nearby Dollar Store

Thanks Much Appreciated. Soon I hope to have a nice system for my "personnel" KIT SCROG
 Dont say that to loud
Hoping the PH x M will surprise me ;)

:rofl::rofl::rofl:
Now thats Funny I am sure they are saving each and every seed for evidence :rofl:
If so the USDA has the BEST seed BANK in the world but for the USA testing they Cant grow anything but
sticks and twigs
