New Moon Over Guawi: A High Brix Journey

UPDATE on my DUNKING method

Seems I have been DUNKING for way to long and possibly causing a bit of stress by keeping the
roots wet to long.

This grow I decided to DUNK a bit Longer ( 10 minutes ) but recently read I should only be
Dunking for a few minutes. 5 minutes Max on a Larger fully dry pot so have adjusted it
down to 2 and 1\2 minutes. The Result was just about the same for the amount that stays
in pot :)

During the LONGER Dunks (10 min) I did notice the girls would SLOW DOWN the very
next day as the Water uptake would slow down by as much as 4 oz and then pick back up/
Thinking maybe that was a sign of stress so looking forward to todays weigh in to see if it
has changed.

Ya, watched some 'G'. She mentions quite a bit about our 'herd'. Feels kinda good listening to her, talk and explain , meanwhile knowing most of it all, already.....thanks Doc. :headbanger:

Yes I like the way she explains it very easily understood.
Been watching her lectures for years.

Got STONED and MISSED IT

OH NO just realized I did not COOK my next second run soil :( Just found the left over jar
of amendment, I cook in two batches so never Re-Cooked the second half after 1st use

DONT Have the time to let these girls stay in the 1 gal pots for another 30 days so did
the next best thing

Had 13 gal of COOKED 1st run and 10 gal of
USED 1st run. SO i simply mixed it
all together. So its been cut
50% with used 1st run. I dont see a lot of Roots at
Harvest so suspect the USED 1st run still has 25 to 50% usable strength.
If I am lucky I'll be running at 75% soil LIFE.

Did the UP-POT on both last night

Should be interesting from here on

EDIT I did see a temp increase (when hand turned) also had Moisture on the lid
of the UNCOOKED 2ND run So I am sure there is still life

Yes, that's why i'm blown away by this 'miss step'. it's NOT like u ...at all! :passitleft:

Its just I dont really Think about the SOIL once its in the bins, Problem has been addressed ;)
BINS are NOW Numbered with clip on COLOR CODED process Cards

GREEN Good to GO
RED Needs COOK

Since Im here I might as well post some pictures of the FIRST day UP-POT

I'm using my ROOTBALL TEMP Monitor's again.
Last run I used the CHEAP version with the Plastic Open Sensor END.
They did not seem to read correctly PLUS they only read in C,

This RUN I upgraded to the F reading Version and the METAL SEALED Sensor END

Still included THE Original cheap montiors since they also read out the R.H.
I'm Hoping I can use them to give me a clue on TIME TO WATER.

Considering they dont read correctly I may be able to get
a base line to calculate a number I can watch for to alert me its time to water

Yes, i like your idea with the Red Green stickers. I need to do sumpin like that too. Know wat ya mean about soil being in the bins too. Anyhow , your grow looks great ....all except for those contraptions over your pots...u know wat i think of those.....do the work and training yourself,..wattsa matter......sakes man...

To be honest I could do it either way, LST or SCROG, but I find it easier with the NETS.
I Dont have to pull them out Or Reach around to find a place to tie down. Plus with the
MODULAR type SCROG (pot & net together) I can easily Raise or Lower each one individually.
Using my SLOW auto water set-up I dont have to remove them for that either.

The last thing I need to figure out is a way to HACK my POSTAL SCALE to keep the reading
and not RE-ZERO when the power is OFF (auto off) Once I figure that out I will never again
have to GUESS when to WATER :slide:

Yup, that will help but not as good as the pre cooked 'amendment'.

Very True :( . At this point just trying to Mitigate my mistake. Wish I had thought about
the ReCharge before I finished the up-pot, could of added the EWC and ReCharge
at the same time I mixed it all together and watered it all in at once.

The Shame :thedoubletake:

Thinking I will Re-Charge at the next Water and then again later on.
