New Moon Over Guawi: A High Brix Journey

Oh I forgot to answer your question

Right now

"Lights Out"

Outside of tent (room temp) 58 RH / 76 F No humidifiers (don't run at lights out)

Inside of tent 60 RH / 77 F

These are typical temps at lights out

I have run 1 small humidifier at front of tent opening near the top on low
to try and get the NIGHT temps lower (75 better) it also raises the RH a little
but not enough to go over 61/62 RH

As soon as the lights come on RH DROPS Like a rock

Gotcha! Glad you are able,to,get, the, tent rh where it needs to be. As Doc says, environment, environment, environment!

One day,I want to have a dedicated grow shed with evironmental controls, the whole 9. We'll see....

:passitleft:

My Dream as well but I do find the challenge enjoyable :) that is when i stumble on the solution

Good question I think Mag7 had it set up on his smart phone using 3 or so temp control units
were he could watch like 3 different units

I Just open the Tent Window and shine my Green lens flash light at the Temp/Humid gauge.

Outside of tent I have a couple to check room temp along with a couple running from my soil
bins.

Later on I hope to remember to include my corded Temp gauge placed at ROOT BALL
when transplanting (forgot last time)

The CO2 peeks my interest a lot and will be included at sometime I am sure :)

Found another issue :)

While monitoring the FAR-RED Sun-Set process I noticed 1 of my FAR-RED LED Bulbs
AFTER warming up is BLINKING on and off with some of the LED's

Looking on Line I can't seem to find any with just the 730nm

Closest I could find was a single light with these led's inside
Very Bright: 12 LEDs (2x 730nm, 2x 660nm, 8x 630nm),

I want/need just the 730nm for SUN-SET setting
anyone know were I can find one ?

May have to build one as I can find the individual LED package
in what I need but would really like a Plug and Play version

I'm into a lot of 'all-natural' approaches for solving life's problems, and I have to recommend making your mycellium-based c02 factory. Easy, cheap, and best of all--it Works for me! Cheers :surf:

In for the ride! :passitleft:

Happy Saturday amigo, looking forward to your grow. Admire your proclivity for detailed note taking! :thumb:

Thanks, Welcome aboard

For the time being I will be posting random thoughts and corrections as needed

Getting a better handle on the RH issue (to many humidifiers needed)
added a 3rd lower fan to help get the wet air up in the tent.

CONCLUSION

2 X 4 Tent is just to small for 616 watts of lighting to keep The RH up

Wanted to TEST so
I turned off the LEFT Bank of T5s (3 t5s = 72 watts total) and the TEMP went
down 3 to 4 degreesand also raised the RH by 3 points
Turned back on and added the extra Fan

Still staying at the high but withing limits
61/63 RH and 79/81 F Day (all lights on)

I did have something like that a few grows ago. Used those boxes of MUSHROOM that
hang above the grow and drop the Co2 as they degrade (I think thats how it works)

Had to stop when I needed the space above for other needed additions :)
Cant say I noticed any advantage but it could of been very subtle and suspect
it was helping to some degree

Have me 9 jars full of substrate that has been almost completely consumed by mycelium... the fun starts soon... but this won't be for my cannabis grow:oops:

Back in the Mid 70's i gave it a try. Made it to the "introducing it to soil" Stage but never got it to make any.
Really did not mater as I was stationed in Hawaii at the time and knew of the perfect spot to pick them wild :)
3 Paper grocery bags full once - made tea for a Battalion :)

That’s awesome, wish I could find em Wild here. But it’s dry here, mabye spring though.
With these they just grow off a brown rice flower and vermiculite mixture. No soil introduced with these. But I hope they come out ok...
Man I bet that was fun, how was the tea? Taste and such...

40 years or so later my memory may not be as clear :)
Did the Tea because I could not stomach taste and knowing what I pulled them out of :)
I had to wash them anyway.

Mixed the Tea (tasted awful) with Orange Juice

Was a long weekend and remember a lot of activity
Not sure how long I was in the Latrine but do remember sitting on the thrown and
changing the color of the walls for what could of been hours :)

Well Looks like I have a decision to make

Re-Reading the Grow Recommendations on these 2 I noticed

Guawi is suppose to have a High Resistance to HEAT (Good because its on the high side)

BUT

GDP is Recommended to GROW BEST @ 50% RH

doc recommends 55 to 65 RH

Thinking I should adjust to 55 RH average (falls closer to a good compromise)

Thinking, Thinking Thinking ..........

Actually with my SITUATION this will be easier to accomplish So Thinking, Thinking ....

Hum Not Ideal but probably the best of both worlds OK I'll do it

EDIT:

OK Just up from adjusting the LIGHTS OUT Temp / RH
got it stable at 56 RH / 77 F

Now we will see what happens when Lights come on 9:45 PM
SHOOTING for same RH @ 81/82 - Lower Temp would be nice but dont think I can get it without AC

EDIT: EDIT:

LIGHTS ON just finished doing my best to get it were I need it
So far its holding at 81 F / 55 RH

Needed to open tent all the way and add my SWAMP COOLER at front
Still need 3 small humidifiers even with the SWAMP COOLER which is a Humidifier also.

I will post pictures tomorrow of the set-up with tent open, you will see
the plants are basically under a dome of light. 12 lights = 12 individual heat sources
positioned around the plants, this I am sure is causing the RH DROP must be just zapping
it

Since I can still Edit this message I will post a fast picture of tent with front open
this is taken BEFORE the TOP Center MH has comes on, 2nd stage of the 3 SUN-RISE routines
Anyway you can see how the plants are surrounded with heat sources coming from
all angles

Anyone remember the Highs and lows for soil storage ?
was just checking the readouts and noticed my 1st run is sitting at 79/80
and normally they sit around 75F.

Checked my "Cheat Sheet" but dont see it
Morning Gazoo, I believe the storage temp for the soil is the same as the optimal temps for our ladies... 78-80. I need to get at mixing and adding any moisture to stored soil... i get lazy about such things.
