What’s consider a good ph pen and with the water are you mixing the vinegar with water and then checking ph ?

I use a BlueLabs PH Pen, the HM Digital pH-80 is another popular option but I have no experience using it.

Yes I mix a very small amount of vinegar with my water. Vinegar is nothing more than a weak organic acid, not as potent as the commercial made PH down chemical but the results are the same.

If I'm using tap water I aerate the water with an air stone overnight to remove/minimize chlorine, then test water PH, then add a few drops of vinegar and retest, repeat until target PH achieved.
