New Grow, Help Needed

Guys... can I get some help with lighting for my grow?

I'm getting concerned and I want to double check I have enough or time to quickly replace some equipment.

I have a
Photography 1000w cfl full spectrum 5500k
100w eq clf non spectrum 7500k
LED panel 165Red 125Blue 8UV 6White 45w (35w actual)

Everything about my lighting is what I've heard will work. But I think advice from a pro would go a lot further than what I can find out on the internet.

So please, lil help?
Look at mars hydro sp 100 or quantum boards by horticulture lighting group

Hi... I think you might benefit from my 1st journal.. it's full of oo many bCk ups.. us running a 300w viparspectra and I had 2 of your red cfls .. they ain't worth piss mate.. I took them out midgrow.. they consumed to much space gave off more heat and less lumens acompare to the leds... dont waste your time with it.. if you can go quantum do it.. itll save you more space then my viper or a comparitive mars ect.. also vhevk your potting mix ainr filled with stone.. i baked many roots with the wrong mix at 1st.. And also.. try not to tho k about them too much.. the one thing that bugged me most 1st time was waiting for things to happen instead of going about my shit and leaving them to just be....

Don't up pit to big and allow for our wet/dry periods with the soil. Let it dry for day before you water again.... roots need oxygen as well as water and in soil you st one or the other...

.If ou get an octopot or make one like me. It's fry little maintenance and oh st the best of soil and hydro.....

Goodluck dig deep in other journals there's a wealth of info in here
Or next time add some coco coir to mix this would always allow your medium to always breathe . Coco coir always holds 30% oxygen so you can never drown it? Something to consider ?

Yeah mate. I've been using bio bizz light mix and potting compost 50/50 to try get the benefit of Rich soil with airy peat mix. But... eh what the hello do I know lol.

I'll check out Mars or quantum and see which is affordable. Would I need more light than just the single source?

Day 25 of veg.

Things are looking good. No signs of toxicity or deficiency and the little one just got its growing legs back.

I left the watering as long as I dared, the pots were almost dust! I started nutes today, biobizz grow 5ml and bloom 5ml per1000ml. That should start a growth spurt in 12 days time I'll do a second watering with the same nutes providing they don't show burns or yellowing.

So far so great. Thanks guys. We may actually pull this off.

Q: Do I need red lights for flowering or is this not done any more. Also how many is too many?

Thanks

Want about 50w per square foot for blurples and hps mate. High end leds like qb and cob need less. More like 35w per square foot. The more sources make that number up the better. Get better coverage from more lights.

I've used coco in my octo pot aswell as soil.

Great, I want to try this but am I still sticking with 35w sq ft? Or is it different?
You'd have to link the light and let us have a look mate. They're all different. I'm no lighting expert btw but been at it a while now so can tell you fairly accurately what youll need for most tech.
A second opinion will never be far away too.

Hi! I too am underway on my first grow.. or second for you by the sounds of it? So of course, I am just a beginner myself.

The first picture in the last set looks like the leaves are drooping a fair bit? How often do you aim to water your plant? The next two pics look really good!

Lights.. unfortunately, they are the most important item of the grow from what I've read. Unfortunate because they are expensive!!

I used a low wattage CFL bulb for seedling, just switched to 400W MH for growth, and will switch to 400W HPS for flower. From what I've read, seedlings don't want a very powerful light yet. Low CFL's are great for this. Also, I do believe switching light spectrums from veg to flower is important, but don't know all the details! Only know about HID (High Intensity Discharge) bulbs, which is MH for veg, HPS for flower.

Good luck!!

Yeah they haven't been watered for 12 days. I used to water every 7 but I had mixed results my first grow failed due to user error. So now I'm getting advice and being cautious about what I do next.

Me, like most newbies thought a plant needs to be wet to grow. This is not the case at all. The roots need long periods of dryness to go and seek out new moisture in the soil. Keeping them wet all the time means the roots never have a reason to go exploring. And if you want great buds you will need great roots. Watering by Emilya 101.

That photo was taken directly before 750ml spring water topped with 5ml grow 5ml bloom ph.d to 6.4 ish.

All I need now is my flowering lights and I think everything will come up roses. My space is 2x2x3 very small space really. Should I go with 35w blurples per sq ft. Or hard red?

Day 29

Quick update. I finally got my hands on 4x t5 led strips blue/ red 12w draw. So I'll be installing them when they arrive.

Secondly I tried my hand at topping, I removed the central mass on node 5 and left 2 aux stems in place. If all works out well I should get 2 main colas now. .... I hope.

Day 35 of Veg.

Holy hell these girls are coming up far better than the last ones before.

I was going to water today but the soil is still moist and I don't want to over do it again. I think that I will run out of room in this tiny closet of mine but hey ho what's the worst thing that could happen?

I managed to successfully top each plant twice now. I'm wary of going any further with it. But things are looking magnificent! (If I do say so myself)

So far so good, thanks guys I wouldn't of made it this far without you.

Day 42.

I'm not being vain when I say that I am quite proud of my grow this time around and it would not be possible without the guiding hand of this community so thank you all very much.

I've been topping my girls every chance I had. For better or worse they seem to be ok with it. But I've almost hit my height limit and I'm worried about the pre-flower push. I've got about 9 inches left before we enter the danger zone, I may "modify" the closet to allow a little more canopy room.

Overall I'm really excited about the end result. So fingers crossed I don't muck it up now.

I used my phone as a lux meter at canopy level and I think I need a few more lumens?
