Hi there Mnmmc, hope all is well in your growville, It sure is looking beautiful! I’m going to start my first grow from seed here soon, I’ve been asked to do a grow for @Weed Seeds Express. I’ve only grown clones so far, so I was wondering if would you mind if I asked you a few questions as to how I should start the process? I did try once with a wet paper towel in between 2 plates. But I was ill equipped at the time, a posed to now, where I have the equipment and a lil know how. I think I’m ready to start from seed. Any 411 you could pass my way would be great :reading420magazine:

Hello
1) soak seeds in mineral water (truth be told no difference in tap water) for at least over night some say 12 hours I have never soaked the seeds for more than overnight (8hrs)
Then inspect the seeds to see it they sank to bottom if not give a quick stir and they should sink.
Ones that don't sink may or may not germinate place seeds on wet paper towel and plate and double up and soak the towel then drain excess water and store somewhere warm and kinda dark I have more on top of fridge.
I spray my seeds with catalyst and use water the spray appears to help.
I usually wait until the root it 1/2 inch if possible and then I plant into peat pucks and watch and wait in dome.
Issue a T7 single light for seedlings and clones in the dome.
For added measure you could use a seedling heating mat shich keeps everything nice and warm which helps with growth.
Once seedlings come our I generally keep the bottoms wet and spray catalyst on the outside.
This is the first year like I said using catalyst and I believe magic happened and produced beautiful roots.
Reach out anytime I ain't no expert but I seems to grow great

Good morning not much action after day 2, the clones were drooping alot so I did trim them back so they leaves stand up.
Used Roots hormone and a catalyst spray with a bit of water in tray and seedling heating pad.
The tap roots on all the beans were perfect and there 8 beans.
6 lemon haze and 2 pink kush.

The other 4 pucks are tomatoes and jalapeños

Thanks so much for all the info! I definitely have some questions but I’ll wait until I get closer to starting. I’m still waiting on my seeds atm
I think I have some of the things I need to start the seeds and seedlings. Do you have a link for catalyst, are they sponsored? Your roots look way too good not to at least try. :meatballs:

Hi the link is plantcatyst.com I believe it is based in SD I am in Canada and I think any hydro grow store show have it.

How long should the tail get before you want to transplant it? You don’t plant it once it sprout’s? How long does it usually take to pop?

Well I had seedlings die :( out of 8 I have 3 and they are not happy.
The clones may die off too not sure at this time as they see not behaving like the last clones I did

The only difference in this crop and my original is I used a seedling heating pad as I wanted the jalapeños to pop which 3 did but no tomatoes yet.

Learned the hard way I do have 4 plants 2 feet high and 5 clones though.
Just the same I had high hopes for second batch.
going to wait and see what happens before I decide what I will do

used same method as you for all my first grows, and had same problem with seedlings.

I personally found out that if I let seeds soak in water after night, take the glass and place seeds into the soil (or w/e you want) but not inna napkin they sprout all with no problems.
I think they have the tiny roots that are exposed to the oxigen too much. And if we think of an Air Pot, we know that a root die when gets in contact with air and make a new root grow... well in this case the seedling is too fragile so it dies
AGAIN! It's just my opinion!

As a friendly advice, soak em into water after night, give a small shake to the glass and take all the seed that don't float (bot of the glass) and place them into your medium, by this you avoid also too many hand touching for the seed.

For my current grow I soak em over night and after that into soil, and I place a plastic wrap foil with tiny holes over the pot. They sprout in about 4 5 days

Ya I soak the beans over night these babies had beautiful tap roots however my mistake was heating pad and funny I did the heating pad before and the seeds got messed up.
Fn memory anyways lol

you learn something today

Any 411 you could pass my way

What a curious expression! Can you tell me how that started? Thanks
And congrats on your WSE sponsorship! You won’t be disappointed with them.

I seems to grow great

You do indeed seem to have green thumbs where fingers should be.
Too bad about the mass sprouticidal mishap. Delicate little buggers aren’t they? They give me the willies until they are big enough to handle an infestation of gardener (ie. suffering my care). I much prefer handling clones.
Off to a strong start mnmmc (am I pronouncing that right?)

I always heard people say “what’s the 411” and figured it came from back in the day when we still had landlines and you could call “information” by dialing “411” on your telephone and You’d get connected to a recording from the “operator” giving you information like the time and date maybe the temperature too. Lol :laughtwo:
