New City Grower 2.0

Sorry to intrude here, but was suggested by my bro (Scottish) that this would be place to ask a question about molasses, and using a cheap readily available product as a molasses supplement.... Treacle..??

Now i have read a fair bit about using molasses to enhance your buds etc, but also stumbled upon a couple of threads after a google search where people have said using Treacle, a molasses to supplement this... In theory i think it seems like a good cheap and viable option for this, Treacle is after all a sugar by product and is 100% blackstrap molasses, and looking at the nutritional info on the tin (obv the info is based for human consumption rather than my cannabis plants lol) but does contain Cal and Mag awell, so dont see any reason y this wouldnt work, i am using BioBizz range of nutes, but have heard a lot of people saying that the TopMax isnt so great and not really worth the money...

So opinions, would using Treacle as an alternative be just as effective as some of the other, perhaps more expensive options available out there?? or would spending the money on a plant specific molasses product be justified??

Wow the reveg is soo amazing have you ever tried repotting into a larger pot before reflowering a reveg I've been reading up and a few people say they even trim the roots and the plant ends up double the size of the first round?
The fire escape lady oh my you have some big cajones even with the disguise i wouldn't be able to rest for paranoia i had my 2bagseed on windowsills but one got too many leaves and i had to find a space to put her in the tent and she was nufing like yours +reps :bong:
That sleestack is a beast can't believe u stripped the 11 point leaves :-o she does look a lot nicer now but those leaves i would be pressing into a book how long she got left now?

Gardenfaerie- is it not with all trees they send a main shoot containing the hormone and you cut back the leading branch which sends the hormone back down the plant so it can bush out? I had to do this with my cherry tree

Unsulfered molasses can be used at 1 tablespoon or 15 millilitres per gallon every time you water your plants in vegetative growth or flowering. Unsulfered molasses can also be used as a harvest flush at 1-2 tablespoons per gallon.

Do kitties climb fire escapes :thedoubletake:

Watch out with the motion activated ones, if they are too sensible even a bug will trigger it. I know from experience, because I have a sensor in the hallway, and it is not fun to be high and for the lights to suddenly come on without a reason :biglaugh:
A Cat Walker or cat walking is a term used for people who sneak around on fire escapes be it to break in apts, steal things people have out, or peeping Toms.

Thanxx for the intel on motion sensors. I realize now that it would be a very bad idea. If it were to get triggered by anything it would draw unwanted attention at night.

John, I don't think you fully answered Random's question. Your the authority on molasses.

Unsulfered molasses is a natural plant enhancer so it depends on the product you intend to replace with unsulfered molasses. I believe that unsulfered molasses is a good value as a plant nutrient to add to most grows. I would not use unsulfered molasses in hydroponics.

And here I thought cute kitties purr outside windows at night

Does that ever happen? To see people out there.

Regular unsulfured treacle from the store will be fine. There are many misconceptions about molasses as a soil additive here on this site. It WILL NOT make your buds sweeter. Plants do not absorb sugar from the soil. They manufacture all the sugar they need via photosynthesis and actually excrete sugar from the roots to feed beneficial bacteria. The treacle feeds bacteria in the soil - a good thing - but it can also be overdone.

Here is a good article about molasses:

It's not the norm but then again it all depends on the neighborhood & block you live in. 9 out of 10 times it'll be someone you know who's been in your apt before. I've put gates on my fire escape windows in every apt. I've ever lived in.

We had gates on our windows when I was growing up too. That is way back. I would not live in NY without the gates on the windows unless there was no fire escape.

When I was a kid I used to sit out on the fire escape with my grandfather on Rogers Avenue. I recently looked it up on google earth and was pretty surprised at how it all looks now. All gentrified. Sad.

Scottie, yes, all plants which have a meristem will have hormones which push growth and if removed will push further down in the plant. It is not really recommended to top trees any more. I can't grow cherries down here so I never have. I wish I could because I love and could live on cherries.

FLUXY MOMMA (Power Flower, Flux style) Day 142

I made a minor adjustment that I believe will be a major improvement when she goes Vert.

Now to explain my warped reasoning with the next pic.

A: If you see where the bolt is pointing, this will fill that empty space with bud sites.
B: That big center mass that's circled is where my original be-headings took place and nothing will grow there so I crossed it with the flux arm.
C: The arrow shows how it will keep a steady uniformed flow of bud sites as if it were one flux arm. Plus it was the arm that was going to take the longest to reach the pot rim.
