New Aquaponic System: First Timer

Here are some better lighted pics. And I put her into a tent today. Changing the light schedule today.

as you can see here in the righthand side. Her leafs are still wilted. However the rest of her is coming back to life. I broke some of her roots and that's why the wilt still on the front right stem. Not sure she will bounce back from the injured roots but she is still with us.

I'm sure her yield wont be the greatest. But I do believe that she will make it to the finish line. Maybe not so heavy but she'll get there. This Great White was my first girl in water so I'm super happy she come this far. A lot of first time things with her. However now know and you can see with my other girl Mojo. I've separated to another journal to get some practice at journaling. I plan on my next journal having a lot more info and videos about everything I will do and video of what happens during the grow. I have a grow contest starting on the 31st in dirt so keep an eye folks cause I'm inviting everyone to be here with me through it all. the support will help me greatly.

that blanket idea is not the best idea josh, it will make the temperatures of the water rise and give issues. Either get some cold air between the blanket close to the bucket or use thin foil instead. Keeping the water temps of rez on point. i keep it between 18c to 20c. I use my big as fan for my carbon filter and it sucks cold air in from outside. then i bought these aluminum sheets that had a 4" input and it goes perfectly around the bucket.

here is the fan that i put a divider in between so there is two outlets. one for each bucket .

Ok well she is still coming back around. The numbers haven't changed as of yet. So everything is good as no news is good news. Here are the pictures from today.

she's looking good for the most part. Other than her bottom right. But she is still looking delicious!!:yummy::rollit:

She looks really dark ..probably still drying out a bit ..be sure to lightly feed when you feel the urge in a few days ..or not until your next bucket change ... ?
namaste !

Hey Josh, it’s been a minute but cruising back thru yours. It’s looking good in here, that’s a big stalk and your plant is coming along nice! Might help to elevate bucket some but I’m at a loss as whether to suggest the use wood instead of bricks or cinderblock. I know you have reservoir and water temp stuff to consider. Regardless you are in great hands with PK and Mrs NH watching your back!

This is what I figured as well. Her nutes consist of micro and bloom on a very low dosage. I was surely drowning her. She has about 3 weeks till her projected finish day from the breeder. So I guess we'll see how she goes. Today is the first day of new light schedule. the tent stays cooler than the room itself so the 2 girls in there are chilling now that's for sure. Room temp inside the tent is 70°f. Water temp is 66°f. I think they will l ik ke this tent over all.

Yeah you've not stopped by in a minute. welcome back my friend. This girl Great White has gone through a few things and she is still pull ik ng through as you can see. I'm pretty excited to see what happens at the end. Be sure to check out my other journal. it's the MoJo but I'm trying to explain what is go ik ng on there day by day.

Sweet. That's really awesome to know cause she is really short. However this Great white is an autoflower. And the package made me misunderstand what it was saying 70-80 day from seed

For the first to hours one of my babys pray to the light. Every morning. every day.

I have pictures from other days and this is what she always does first off.

Hey Josh, just cruising through, been a bit. Glad to see the girls are doing good. Both PK and NH are correct, now that your roots are in the res, you can stop the top feed (the airstone will provide enough oxygen).

Your feeding micro and bloom. Awesome, I've run autos using that combination. How many mil of each are you feeding?
You may notice some browning of roots with GH micro, it's normal nute stain and nothing to worry about unless accompanied by a foul smell or slime.

Some wilting is normal, it's just the plant has taken in her light for the day. Even though autos can be run in 24hrs of light, they reach a maximum light saturation (forget proper terminology) and wilt to rest.

Also remember, micro has lots of N in it, and aquaponics provide N, so be on the lookout for Nitrogen toxicity.

Love how thick that stalk is coming along!

As far as the amount of ml's put in the res. Well right now its 5ml per gallon of each and I have 4 gallons. However when adding nutes I do it over a span of 3 hours to a day. I let them sit for a while with just air bubbler to make sure its mixed well be for I add to res. My N is high that's for sure, you can tell from the dark green waxy look of the leafs. I've added no extra N when I added nutes. Only micro and bloom. my ppm on her is right around 200. This I find she loves.

Let me ask you a quick question. this is a auto flower. I turn the lights to 12/12 a month ago t ok start flower. when she went to flower I switched lights back to 20/4 to put back to veg. I tried to switch the auto to photo with light stress. I'm not sure if she switched. But from what I've read about autos is this can happen. What do you think?

Hey Josh, so I'm no pro, but basically wether intentional or not, when using just the micro and bloom from GH your doing something akin to a Lucas grow. To skim over a lot of important details, at its heart, the Lucas Formula consists of a 1:2 ratio of Micro:bloom. With the addition of your aquaponic water you **may** be able to use a bit less micro. Micro has lots of Nitrogen in it.
Once an auto seed has sprouted an internal clock begins. Certain LST training can lengthen the veg time if done consistently (to avoid sudden shocks), but once flowering has started there is no going back with an auto, She will continue to flower.

She might hermie on you ! I wouldn’t be fucking with your lights like that ... my .02 :ganjamon:

I hope not. she hasn't yet. I'm not stressing her out no more. I stressed her a month ago when I first put her into her own bucket. Ever since I've just been trying to get her where she's happy and strong.
