Never Ending Hotbox

Ok I spent a few hours searching, reading, browsing numerous forums and threads and finding maybe half a dozen or so pictures...

I'm totally convinced that this is an example of polyploidy. Had I known earlier, I wouldn't have flipped it :(

Oh well, I'll start taking a few more pictures and maybe making a thread just for the mutants progress. There is a fair amount of information available, but not many examples that I've found. There are two that I know of, growing here on 420 though!

Any chances of still cloning it even though its in flower?

So I just got home from my local hydro store. Which happens to be the main headquarters for the nutrients I use.
While picking up some soil and silica, I decided to ask a few questions with regards to their product line and organics etc. I was able to have a nice chat with their head chemist to boot :)
Good bunch of guys, knowledgeable and don't seem to be trying to "get me to buy".

pnwgardensupply kudos to you!

:)))
I have 5 clones that I cut before I flipped. I don't see any polyploid traits to them yet, but time will tell ;)

FYI: I've also started a thread for this plant to try to get some more info from the community. You can find it in my signature below.

Heading there right now. :thanks:

Update::

Flower room #1
Starting week 7 in flower.
2 - GSC to the left.
2 - Hash plant to the right.

Flower room #2
Starting week 3 in flower.
2 - Critical mass on the left.
3 - GSC to the right, including the polyploid mutant. The GSC have definitely tripled in size since flip. They've even caught up to the monster!

The only issue I've had was my own fault. The stoner fed this tent with a full dose of flower nutrients :( not so great. :P

The Veg room
Various stages of growth.
Ya know, it's kinda full, it's my next 2 grows, getting ready to take there places in the Flower tents :)
Let's see ummm...
5 - hash plant clones in the back.
2 - GSC autos left and right. They are ready to harvest any day now. Yum!
5 - GSC clones up front. I've just transplanted these into 3 gallon pots today. They needed it bad.

Cheers and I hope you've enjoyed this update ;)

Thanks y'all!
Im pretty happy with my setup yes :) and I have it running where I really don't have to do too much. I just give them what they need, mind you I'm a bit of a minimalist I think, and they just grow and grow!

Thanks for the input!

Just sharing :P
This is one purchase I have made that really sets my mind at ease, as controlling temperature is rather important.

These ink bird controllers, turn the heat on when the temperature reached my programmed low, and the extra fans kick on when it gets too hot!

They have a display of the temperature in the tent and a light to show if the controller is currently running the fan or heater. :)
You can set an alarm to sound if it reaches the set high temp.
Everything is easy to understand and completely programmable.

Yesterday I decided to abuse one of my flowering GSC autos.
They have both had their first flush and are both within a week of being cut down.
Sooo... I decided to spit the stem on one of them, let's try this out. I hope someone's with me? Lol.

In short stem splitting is said to stress or shock the plant into producing more trichomes. I'm all for that!

Soooo... out came razor blade and two zap straps.
I cut through the main stream, an inch long. I tightly tightened a zap strap, above and below the cut. I took two bamboo skewers and stuck them through the stem. The sides are separated enough you can see through the stem.
Let's see what happens.
Huh what?

Ok Spot. What's with this minimalist thing, and then you pop the next two messages with your high tech thingamajiggies?
Methinks you have discovered how easy it is to confuse me.
:goodjob:

Haha

I don't mean to confuse ;)
I enjoy my tech, don't get me wrong.
The minimalist in me is simply my growing style I think. I use to grow solely outside. Stick em in the ground and let em grow...

I read so many posts asking how soon to add nutrients, and asking for a schedule to follow. I hate following a schedule, it feels like a 9-5.
I see pictures of cabinets and tables stacked with nutrients... close to 1000$ in nutes! Ouch!

I'm setup so I don't use any nutrients until flower. Through veg I simply plant in soil, a little dolomite lime, and use only rain water. No bottled nutes whatsoever unless a plant is having a major problem.
Whoops, rewind, I do feed silica, molasses and epsom in Veg.

Other than ph-up and down, I have very few nutes in my cabinet.
Medi-one(organic: can be used from veg through flower), pro-guard(silica) and Massive(carbs for flower), all from greennnnplan et.
I don't like to spend too much on nutrients as I don't feel they are all that necessary for a nice plant.
Oh god, I'm gonna be ostracized for saying that!

That being said, I also understand and believe that the available bottled nutrients can increase size/yield etc.

So compared to many, Id say I am somewhat of a minimalist in the way I grow.

The fancy ink-bird gear is to help me maintain my garden a little easier too. Im running three tents, housing plants at 5 various stages of growth. I don't stress about temps or fans at all.
It's all taken care of. :)

I agree, im finding that less is more when it comes to nutrients.
