Hard to tell from the pictures, but is your dd starting to flower??
It absolutely is. She started at about 16 days from the drop to the soil. Wow she really went into flower fast.

Add a little more soil, water, and you're done. Easy peezy.
This one and yours pretty much explains it all!
Thank you guys! I guess I did know about the method just wasn’t aware of the titled name of the procedure.
That very well could be a test on the next grow to see if there are benefits to up potting with the autos. I can do one up pot and one direct to the final pot. Not with cuttings but 2 different seeds from the same strain and not with the DDa.

I feel like I've compressed the last 30 days into 15 minutes...oh wait, I have!
I tried to condense the beginning a little. To me that part is a touch boring.

I can't think of a strain more tasty to grow than DDA!
Stone you were one of the big reasons I went the DDa. I was unaware of them until I showed up here so I hope you can share some advice on my journey with these girls. :thanks:

Oct. 27th and Day 27 on the Chocolate Skunk and Day 20 on the 2 DDa’.
Yesterday it was just a little tuck and bend for the LST girls.

But most importantly it was extremely clear that the DDa is in the flower stage already. Wow she is a very young plant but she’s in flower and I only have but about 12 or 14 bud sites up so far for her flat top. Fingers crossed I can keep her healthy and get those tops up good and filled out.

The Chocolate Skunk still has some yellowing issues on her leaves I’m going to give her, actually probably all some Cal-Mag+ today. I would sure like to get that yellow under control. Any advice here from anyone would be appreciated. Even with her yellow she is structurally a good looking plant and coming along well with lots of bud sites showing up. Both plants are taking their training well and loving it.

The Mutant is really taking off now! What a specimen of the DDa’ strain. In all honesty I would probably have been a little disappointed if I had not been given these two different phenos. One beauty and one…? I just hated loosing two DDa seeds in germination/seedling stage.

Now I can take this opportunity to a/b test and see what yields better, a topped LST DDa or one that’s allowed to grow naturally.

The MarsHydro SP3000 is still running at 75% and 19” from the tops. Temps are 69*-83* r/h 44-60.
Running one 6” fan full time and a 4” intake fresh air when the tent is closed up. The lights are on 18 and off 6 hours and I actually have them on during the day here in the winter and off from midnight to 6am. It helps keep that area of my house a bit warmer during that day.

Glad to hear the mutant is starting to grow. Wish I could help on the Chocolate Skunk, but just not sure why the leaves look the way they do. Light stress maybe?
That very well could be a test on the next grow to see if there are benefits to up potting with the autos.
I don't know if there are necessarily benefits to up potting autos, just not detriments. I just do it so that I can start with different soil for the seedlings.

@Nev, I think the calmag should help with the CS or you may want to try epsom salts. Seems like one or the other helps Geoflora do its thing at some point during the grow.

Even though she jumped into flower early, I think that larger DDa is going to be nice! :Rasta:

Oh, just like meditation. Not a lot to gain but some beneficial loses.

Thank you GDB! I agree and I’m excited with anticipation that she will be a green ribbon winner for me and I will continue the ride for now with that Cal-Mag+

:passitleft:

Mine went natural.
Were going one natura and one aggressive topped. Let’s see who out performs the other here. :thedoubletake:

Oct. 29th and it’s day 22 on the Dark Devil autos and day 29 on the Chocolate Skunk.

Im extremely happy with the DDa as she is going hard in flower now. She started flower early and even though there is not a lot of bud sites on her I believe that what we have are going to make an outstanding plant. I hope I don’t Jinx myself on that comment.:nervous-guy:

The Chocolate is still vegging and spreading out over her pot nicely. She’s received a few waterings of Cal-Mag+ 2-0-0. She still shows a little yellowing on the edges of the slightly canoeing leaves. I’ve decided not to fret over it as it seems to happen with a lot of GeoFlora feed plants and they always seem to come out and produce a very nice final harvest. Actually I see it on a number of plants no matter what they are feed do the same thing. I’m still looking for answers just not fretting about it.
At this time she is still not showing any pistols but it looks like they will show at any day now.

The Mutant Seriously what can you say! This gal is in a full on growth mode and looks like she may catch her sibling as she busts up towards the light. Looking at her I do wonder where the bud sites would be.

Besides the daily inspections, leaf tucking and bending everything thing seems to be moving ahead nicely.
Next week everyone is up for their 3rd feeding of Geoflora nutrients. I will give the Chocolate and Mutant a full feeding of GF veg 5-3-4 1/2 cup each and the DDa a 1/4 cup of veg and a 1/4 cup of the GF flower 3-5 5.

I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable weekend and a heart felt thank you to all for stopping by.
@Renee Roberts I would like to apologize for causing you undo and unnecessary work do to my postings.

I have my 4800 cranked to 100 lol I couldn't resist
100% yikes! I’m still running 75% on the SP3000. My Chocolate Skunk had some canoeing of the leaves going on so I’m taking it up slow. I’m guessing end of the week I will twist it up. 100%

Well at least two out of three will end up with the classic Nev autoflower shape! And those two are doing nicely.
Thank you Shed. In some books two out of three is a good thing and with the DDa’ it actually took me 4 seeds to get the 1 and a Mutant. And I absolutely love manipulating the autos growth patterns.

Update
Monday Day 32 on the Chocolate Skunk and Day 25 on the DDA’s.

The C.Skunk at 32 now is doing well. I gave her (all plants) a couple doses of Cal-Mag+ and her color is looking good right now. She is filling out the pot well and I’m getting lots of nice bud sets showing up.
She takes daily tucking and bending and I’ve actually only removed a couple 3 or 4 leaves so far.

The Dark Devils. The Mutant is solidly growing pretty much just in height. She is actually showing pistils popping up but I don’t really see any bud sites. :laughtwo:
The #1 DDA Is doing great. A good amount of bud sites some that are trying to come up in the center and lowers of the plant need to get some stretch going to get some height up to catch the outside of the plant.
Im so pleased with this girl I’m just hoping all keeps going smooth.

All the plants are pretty dried out and need water. It’s been 12 days since their last feeding so I’m going to top dress them all now with Geo Flora nutrients. About a third cup of veg in the 5gal pot. The CSkunk will get 1/4 cup of veg and a 1/4 cup of flower as will the DDA. They all get 1 Tbl spoon of Cal-Mag+ with the watering.
Temps are still running 66*-83* and R/H is 37%-63%. The SP3000 light is running during the day from 6am to midnight at 75% capacity. I’m most likely going to turn it up at the end of the week to about 85% capacity. Once the flowers get going a little more I will then push to 100%. Any ways that’s the thinking right now.

Thank you all for taking a peek at my little grow.

As of today mine are now older then your new sprouts.

I normally buy Lucerne 2% but in the photo is my sugar high. Tampico Mango…. flavor. My grape kool-Aid is chillin in the fridge.

Tuesday Update
About 2 weeks ago I captured a tiny spider on the wall in my grow room and then placed it in my tent on the DDa. Surprisingly to me it has stayed in the tent and I see it daily. It works on the floor and when I fed the plants the other day he climbed into the tray and went quickly for the drop of water in there. I went and got a coca-Cola bottle cap and now keep it in there with water in it for the little guy. I actually cooked my soil hoping to delete any gnats living in the soil but that didn’t work out all that great. But since the spider has been living in the tent the gnat problem has been almost eliminated completely. I couldn’t be happier with the guest in the tent.

Wednesday Day 34 on the C Skunk and Day 27 on the DDa and Mutant. Both the DDa and the C Skunk are doing well with the LST and the pots are filling out nicely. They’re both showing good bud sites and I sure hope I can keep everyone happy.
The Mutant is really starting to get some height now, I may have to start bending her a little.

Other then that I’m extremely happy everything is flowing stress free and making good progress. And today I venture out to find a birthday present for my youngest granddaughter who’s turning 3 next week. It’s going to be a party.

2/3 of you plants are looking great, Nev! :thumb: I think I have one DDa seed left in my inventory. Maybe I'll give it one more try. So far I've grown 3 DDa and have been underwhelmed by all three - in all categories (size, looks, yield, smoke).

Great journal so far, Nev. I love your updates and the bolding. It makes it so much easier to read online.

I'm interested in watching your DDAs since I'm growing them, too. I've also never heard of Chocolate Skunk. I'll be interested in the smoke report to hear whether there are any chocolate taste or smell.

Beautiful DDa, and Chocolate Skunk- you're building a great framework for what's to come!
Even the little mutant looks pretty happy...it'll be interesting to see how she handles flowering
when the time comes.

Friday Nov. 5th It’s windy it’s wet and the rain continues here in Portland Oregon. Looks like another day in the comforts of my home messing with the girls.

The little spider must really like it here as he has never left the tent since arriving 2 weeks ago. No webs it just patrols along the floor of the entire tent keeping the gnat population down to a minimum. I rarely see more then 1 gnat flying around when I’m in the tent doing maintenance. 2 weeks ago I had yellow sticky paper up in all 3 pots and they were getting sizzled by the gnats. I was just about to order more mosquito bits from Zon because no local retailers are carrying it now in the off season. I love the Spider.

The Update

Day 36
Chocolate Skunk. Yesterday she looked pretty dry and the pot was light so I gave her about 2 liters of water with Cal-Mag+. To me she still looks slightly light in her color and the edges of the leaves show very slight yellowing. She is starting to put out a little stretch and I want to let her start reaching up and not restrict her height any longer. So now I’ll try and keep her top level and bud sites open to the light. She looks like she may become a good stacker.

Day 29 DDa. I couldn’t be happier with this plant so far. She has nice color and starting to show shades of purple pistils on a solid fat stalk that is putting out some very nice tops I’m not sure how much stack they will get but the look great now.
She started flower very early and hasn‘t shown much for stretch. She may have to go on a riser to stay level with the Skunk. She also received 2 liters of water and Cal-Mag+ yesterday.

Day 29 Mutant DDa. She is doing her thing and to not have her feel left out she got 2 Carcass-Skewers. Not to open up bud sites but that darn thing took off in a stretch and I need to keep her in check with the height of the others in the tent. There is some sort of flowering taking place with color.

Go mutant, go!
I had to tie her down yesterday!

impressive LOOKING DDA
Thank you dynamo! I’m seriously stoked with this beauty. Seriously! :thanks:

Most folks would have pulled it and dropped another bean. You? You have comic relief!
What would a good old fashioned circus be without the side shows. You gotta love the bearded lady.:circle-of-love:

So far I've grown 3 DDa and have been underwhelmed by all three
I went into this very apprehensive and it’s taken me 4 seeds to get the Mutant and 1 Star so far. I’m not sure what to expect from the smoke yet but I hope it’s better then decent. My biggest goal is to have a premium looking plant in late flower. Hope your last seed makes the Star category for you.:cheesygrinsmiley:
I've also never heard of Chocolate Skunk
Thank you for stopping by HashGirl! I’ve been a fan of your pages for a good while now and enjoy your style.
Im going to look up some info on the Chocolate Skunk here shortly and try to post it up. :hugs:

Beautiful DDa, and Chocolate Skunk- you're building a great framework for what's to come!
Thanks Carcass! I’m chasing the bar you’ve set with the auto flowers, and it’s way up there! Thanks for the inspiration. I wish J was still around. He also worked the autos to peak performance.
