Neikodog's High Brix Sativas

And we finally got a sunny break after two weeks of rain :)

Terpenes are really setting this produce apart! Very interesting!

1.37...lmao, and you said you've had a good many testing over 2%! Terpenes are the key. I can't prove it myself, but I can say unequivocally, terpene profile makes a bigger difference to the effects than thc level.

I wonder if it has anything to do along the lines like you cant taste without smell

I just found a nice source for info on terps ...

Apparently, both ocimene and terpinolene are mostly found in sativas, and another strain with a similarly high Terpinolene profile is Jack Herer and another with both high Terpinolene and Ocimene is Lemon Sour Diesel.

Terpene Spotlight

In the Ocimene profile it says ... "It might help differentiate indicas from sativas. Many of the cannabis strains with the uplifting effects we attribute to sativas have myrcene as the dominant terpene. While that usually means that strain is an indica, researchers found that if ocimene or terpinolene is the second most abundant terpene, the strain will behave like a sativa."

Maybe this contributes to the clear speedy high, although Myrcene is pretty low.

Yes I have had quite a few go over 2%, Clementine hit 2.67%, Bubba Hash was 2.01%. Anything over 1% is considered good. Purple Sherb is a good example of terps over thc. I had 2 phenotypes tested the 1st one tested 24 and 1.3 on the terps, the 2nd one tested 22 and 1.78 on terps. The terpene profiles were identical in make up. I let everyone that smokes my stuff do a blind test. I labled them 1&2 and then asked for their feedback on which one to keep. Everyone said 2. I still need to test the black cherry punch and strawberry fields but I'd be willing to bet they both are over 2%.

My keeper Tikal had those 2 terps as the main chemicals in it's profile as well. Maybe that's why I liked it so much. Durban is another that's high in terpinolene. I look for strains that have low to nil Myrcene, I tend to like those best. It's rare to find high testing terps without Myrcene as it's main. Bubba Hash has very little to nil in it. Pinene is that one's main terp. 707 truthband is another that broke 2% with Limonene as it's main and very little Myrcene. Clementine has the highest terps I've tested but of the 2.67, 1.96 is Myrcene.

Yo, Neiko.... Morning from me to you.... This is a very educational subject here... I kinda feel a stronger uplifting feeling from my Trip Deisel, than I do from say my Headband.... I have really always gone by the big three to decide my high, my bed, my couch, or my garden... Where ever I end up I know which i have smoked Sativa, or Indica LOL... JK... Please keep up the good work, as It is legal here now I find more people are asking more Questions about such numbers... Green Day friend ....:yummy:

I heard Kevin Jodrey saying that he hoarded a clone that was getting 5% of terps, but honestly I think he was stoned :p :smokin2:

What's it cost you to run a test where you are Neiko?
